The location is excellent and you are able to walk directly from the hotel to the beach. The ocean view from our room was spectacular, but the room and bathroom were smaller than anticipated. the staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The spa itself was a disappointment, too dark and too few lounging areas, but we understand it is being completely rebuilt and refurbished over the winter for reopening in the spring.

I booked this hotel for a rest with my daughter during the holidays. It is a beautiful hotel with a long history. It was founded in 1909 and has retained its identity, imbued with the entire history of France, from royalty to the present day. The room is typically French small, but has all the facilities for a stay including a very comfortable bed. We ordered breakfast in the room and they brought us very fresh and delicious pastries, starting with fresh baguettes in various types, croissants, and other famous French buns. Even if we had no desire to eat, it was impossible not to be tempted. :)) We had dinner at the restaurant and also celebrated my birthday. The cuisine exceeded my expectations, with very refined and beautifully presented dishes. And most importantly - it was delicious! Thank you very much to the chef! Used the sauna as well, it was mostly very quiet and we were able to relax. In front of the hotel is Grand beach, a lovely bay, and a shore for swimming and relaxing.

The location was incredible—right on the beach and very walkable to nearby restaurants and shops. The staff worked hard to provide guests with a warm and welcoming stay. We appreciated the thoughtful gestures, such as bottled water for our car trip, the welcoming drink, and the thoughtful turndown service. The bed was very comfortable, and so was the room.

Location was stunning but it was the staff who excelled. Nothing was to much trouble. they really were excellent

In our room on the 3rd floor the toiletries which are lovely are in containers attached to the bathroom walls. They are on a pump system which was a nightmare to work. Mid shower I had to ring housekeeping to show me what I was doing wrong. The housekeeper was delightful but she had the same problem and couldn’t get any shampoo etc out of the bottle. Within minutes she’d arrange 3 new freestanding bottles to be brought to the room . Finally a decent shower.

Property is stunning, the surroundings are breathless and so is the beach view. The two Silvias at the reception desk were courteous, helpful and friendly. The only person we found unfriendly was our sever on the patio, Batiste, he didn’t seem to want to be there serving…very unfriendly and rude, I had to have a gentleman help me open a bottle…. Overall, the friendly people made our stay very pleasant. Great rooms, nesspresso coffee, toiletries, a 5 star hotel 🥰🥰

Amazing hotel in a perfect location in the charming town of St Jean de Luz. We had three rooms for our large family and everyone had a beautiful room with ocean views. The rooms were impeccably cleaned every day with fresh Nespresso coffee, waters and treats. The restaurant dinner was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful when we asked to change one room type due to a booking error on my part. Two members of our party were in their 80s and the hotel and location were perfect for their mobility challenges.

For our older family members, the hotel tub was very difficult to step into. If needed, I would recommend asking for a room that has a step in shower. Also, there are no hotel beach loungers despite being directly on the beach. We purchased beach chairs at a local shop for our parents so they could enjoy the beach.

Food rather disappointing except for breakfast One or two members of staff in the spa a little offhand. Spa a little too dark and airless.

The location was on the seafront. Beautiful views. Tastefully decorated and very very clean.

We were upgraded to a superior room, which was a lovely gesture. Our room was beautifully decorated and furnished. Sadly we felt that there was too much furniture in the room for the size of it. The front entrance needed a little TLC. It looked unkept. We used the free SPA facilities. Sadly all the exercise bikes for the swimming pool were stored around the pool making it look shabby. Felt the parking costs of 29 euros was expensive.

I loved every minute of my stay at Grand Hotel Thalasso. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. My room was delightful. They had upgrading to a room with an ocean view and a city view. It is perfectly positioned and restaurant serves great food

Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Super location on the beach next to the promenade.Short stroll to the town with plenty of shops and good restaurants. Very relaxing stay with a superb range of quality and choice of food at breakfast.

We were not keen on our evening meal could of been our choices although the dining room itself is plush and the service was faultless.
