Very well appointed room close to Bristol Airport and on the falcon bus route to/from the airport. A sizable car park for those who drive. A supremely comfy bed. A good, hot shower with decent water pressure. Without aircon and on a very hot weekend, the standing fan provided was a godsend. Few amenities in the surrounding area so I recommend that you have transport. Ubers in the area are expensive.

The front (pub entrance) of the property could do with some TLC (boarded up door) but the internals looked recently upgraded and the hotel entrance was fine. My only complaint in the room was that the mixer tap on the bathroom sink was loose - not fitted properly to the basin, meaning care had to be taken not to soak the floor, and there was some evidence of presumably recent building works in the form of marks on the walls, but this is just pernickety. Everything I needed was there and in working order.

Perfect location to leave early hours of the morning to travel to Bristol airport. Only 4 minutes drive. Excellent exit to leave the hotel and not disturb any other guests. We sat and had some food in the beer garden but the setting and presentation of the restaurant inside was outstanding modern and very clean. The gentleman who greeted us showed us to our room was the same chap who served at the bar and also served the food. Service was excellent. When arriving to the room there was an upright fan on full making it cool and welcoming. The bathroom, WELL. It was the most cleanest bathroom/shower room I have ever used. It was so perfect and clean you'd think it was for display only.

The stairs were quite steep to get to the rooms but there is an alternative exit which is a steel staircase And very easy to exit to the back of the hotel down to the beer garden where you'll be given a code to open the door to exit and re enter if you need to collect anything from your car later.

This was a very comfortable stay with very friendly and helpful staff. We had a loft room which was cavernous and very comfortable. It was clean and the bed was very good. It was a little hot due to the very hot weather in early to mid-July and the supplied fan did help. The presence of two armchairs as opposed to just one in most hotels was a bonus. The bathroom was large and had a good shower. There were plenty of plug sockets in the room for battery-chargeable devices which we seem to be dependent on these days. The breakfast was good but a few improvements needed in that department. My wife and I went into the bar one evening and enjoyed chicken pakora and I had a very nice pint of Carlsberg.

There was a need for a little TLC in the B & B, such as re-carpeting and furniture reupholstering. The staircases are a little narrow and steep which might not suit older and less able persons. The orange juice with the breakfast was delicious, as was the coffee. The breakfast could be improved by a) having cereal, as there was none, b) a side plate for your toast as it was placed on the English breakfast plate as was the jam, c) a little more bacon, d) a choice of white or wholemeal toast and e) a choice of condiments as only strawberry jam was offered. There is quite a lot of traffic noise from the A38, even at 4am on a Sunday morning!!

The owner was very friendly & welcoming. The accommodation was clean & had TV, fan, tea & coffee making facilities. Bed was lovely & comfortable. Able to eat & have a drink in the restaurant was good. I had a steak for dinner and it was exceptionally, very nice meal. The whole pub/restaurant was lovely & clean. Great accommodation, staff & food. Also had parking which is always a bo us. Only five minutes from the airport, so ideally located.

Not a lot yo be honest. The bathroom was separate to the room, but it eas beautiful inside & extremely clean. My room was quite, but as the window didn't quite close, coukd hear some road noise, but nothing to complain about.

I always try to stay at the Darlington Arms when travelling to and from Bristol Airport. I always receive a warm welcome and help with my case to my room. The rooms are bright and spacious, warm and airy. The bathroom is clean and functional. Tea/coffee making facilities are available in the room which is great when having an early start. I had booked dinner and as always it was delicious and plentiful and served with a smile. The staff are very kind, efficient and nothing is too much. Thank you again for a lovely stay.

The deep chairs in the pub lounge are looking very tired.

A fantastic location, 5 minutes from Bristol Airport. We had an early flight the following morning and this was perfect to put our heads down for the night and then get up for a short drive to the airport. We’ll use again for the same reasons on future holidays. Also a relatively easy 20 min taxi into Bristol centre for an evening meal so is well located. Also a great touch was the staff noticed us leave the hotel for the evening and sent me a message on Booking.com and by text with instructions for getting into the hotel after hours, a really nice touch.

Nothing major, room was simple and relatively small but it’s what we expected so can’t complain at that!

Location good for the airport, easy to find . Parking available. Staff friendly Room done out nicely and bed comfortable. Lovely shower room . Having bottle of water to drink in the room was nice Nice food and able to sit outside for a drink .

Felt that the uphoulstered chairs in the sitting area in the bar were in need of some TLC . Material coming apart doesn't look nice . Could do with new covers . Also the beer garden again needs a bit of TLC tidy around ,clear weeds and paint repair the tables and benches to make it more appealing to sit outside .

The King Room at the Darlington Arms was nothing short of spectacular – it felt like staying in a royal palace! The attention to detail was incredible, from the luxurious bedding to the stunning decor that made me feel like I was living in a dream. And the breakfast? Absolutely divine! It was a feast fit for royalty, with every dish bursting with flavor and care. I could barely believe I wasn’t still dreaming! Truly an unforgettable experience.

"The only slight challenge was navigating the staircase with all my luggage, but it gave the place such a charming and traditional feel! It was like stepping back in time, and honestly, the character of the building made it all worth it. Plus, it was a good excuse to slow down and truly soak in the historic ambiance of the Darlington Arms!"

I accidentally booked a room with external bathroom, but on arrival, we were automatically upgraded to en suite as the hotel was quiet...this was a pleasant and unexpected bonus. The room itself was large and comfortable with an excellent shower. When we entered the room, the lamp was on, nice and warm and it felt really welcoming. We had good food at a reasonable price and the staff on duty were really pleasant. Situated on a very busy road but overnight it was quiet. Would stay again for sure. Only about 1 mile from.silver zone parking.

There was nothing we didn't like, but the room could do.with a lick of paint and some maintenance tidying in the bathroom where there has been a refit...that said, these establishments do get lots of visitors so I can imagine the timing is difficult... There was a macerating toilet which was quite loud, but it didn't bother us, not sure if the neighbours could hear it. Just providing a balanced review.

We stayed in the loft. Such a comfy bed, beautiful room. Close to the airport for a super early check in. Food service was quick and the food was proper pub grub. Lovely bar area.

Unfortunately the building is looking a little run down from the outside and some maintenance is needed in areas - for example paint work in bedroom and landing/stairs all need touching up. Carpet on the stairs very tired and worn. Garden didn’t look inviting but could be as only just hitting spring. Also comfy chairs in the bar were comfy but really need to be upholstered again.
