My friend and I had the pleasure of staying at Coombe Lodge Farmhouse for 2 nights. A lovely lady,Jenny,owns and runs this b+b. It is situated a few minutes away from Coombe Lodge,where we were attending a wedding. Jenny made us feel extremely welcome.She totally goes above and beyond for her guests. On the morning of the wedding she gave us a lift to where we were getting picked up to be taken to the church. On the day we were leaving,even offered to take us to the airport if our taxi didn't turn up. She didn't need to do any of those things. She is so very kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.All local fresh produce cooked to perfection by Jenny. We also tried her yoghurt,fruit compote,which was also delicious. Her home is lovely,rooms are immaculate. Lovely gardens . Coombe Lodge Farmhouse/Jenny is so welcoming ,we would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a quiet,peaceful and relaxing place to stay. So..Thank You Jenny for looking after us. Jenny's b+b is 5 star. There is nothing not to like.

The one night stop over was a very pleasant experience. Jenny was very attentive and accommodating. Her selection of breakfast's was extensive and with high quality local local produce and was delicious. The surrounding environment was peaceful and relaxing and appears to support (what we assume to be) Jenny's targeted clients, that of adult couples or singles. Her lovely home, which she shares with her paying guests, is far too much at risk from little hands and feet. The rules that she naturally expects her guest to follow are reasonable, given the quality of the property.

If this is to be an objective review then not withstanding the response of almost 100% satisfaction then there must be a negative side. Having had extensive experience with guest houses, both running them and of course staying in, Coombe Lodge Farm is without doubt a gem, and Jenny and 'Titch' are charming. For our personal point of view the room that we occupied, although the bathroom, the shower room and toilet, wardrobing were all self contained, the part dedicated for sleeping was maybe a little smaller the we, as a couple are used to. Timings for breakfast, quiet time and lock up (no keys given) may be a little too prescriptive. However Theses are the rules of the house and one has to make a choice - obey and stay or, not and go away!

What a gem we uncovered in this property. We had to be in Blagdon for a course, so this was ideally situated; we could walk to the venue. Such an easy village to get to, wherever you are coming from, and so central for a holiday. I suspect we will be back. Jenny was excellent; there was nothing too much trouble. She has the most beautiful house and has turned it into a perfect place to stay. I loved the quirkiness of the rooms, the mattresses which were so comfortable, and I could have slept for days, but would not want to miss the excellent breakfasts or the amazing views over her fantastic garden down to the lake and beyond. And Titch, whether you are a dog lover or not, he is so good and such a character. This cottage was right in the heart of the countryside, and the birds and wildlife were abundant, with their happy singing and calling to each other. Yet it was tucked away and so peaceful; there was no rush, and Jenny took all the pressure off booking the evening restaurants and pointed us in the right direction.

I am not sure there was anything that would prevent me from returning if I could.

Jenny is the most kindest host. Upon arrival I was welcomed with a pleasant introduction of the farm house and was also provided a tour of my room and the common areas which made the experience specially personalised. Jenny highlights the intricacies of the farm house with great passion, from the type of bedding guests will get to experience to the amazing breakfast options on offer, of which Jenny sources produce locally, supporting family run business within the area. The bedroom and bathroom were immaculately clean and prepared to a high standard, and the farm house is located in a pleasantly quite environment (especially ideal for guests attending weddings at the the Coombe Lodge which is a two minute walk away).

Nothing to fault

Jenny’s property was conveniently located to the wedding venue and very well kept with extensive grounds to explore. Our guest room and the whole house was immaculate. We had all the amenities we needed in our room for a comfortable stay such as tea/coffee, fresh milk delivered, chocolates, Madeline’s and lovely soap in the en suite along with fresh towels. Every little touch was there along with the attention to detail. Our bed was super comfortable and we rested very well. After a long day at our friend’s wedding we appreciated the turn down service enabling us to hope straight into bed. Breakfast was fantastic. All locally sourced, high quality products. Lovely homemade bread with quality butter, jam and marmalade. Coffee and tea selection was also extensive. All served in a timely manner and left to our own devices but regularly checked upon for not who made toast etc. We enjoyed learning more about Jenny at the end of our breakfast. Our host Jenny was a delight to spend time with, we had great conversation and shared our passion of horses. We felt like old friends from the off staying for the weekend. Jenny has a lovely bubbly personality which matches the decor of her lovely home. Titch was also a bonus for us dog lovers of the group! Jenny is a star, if we needed something extra Jenny would have gone above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied.

The hostess was lovely, very happy to receive guests and a great personality. Jenny was very welcoming and knows how to take care of her guests. The room was clean, comfortable and the location is perfect. Lovely and peaceful with a fantastic organic, localy sourced breakfast to boot. The house is exactly what you would expect, beautiful, chocolate box charm. My wife and I would definitely come stay again the next time we are going into Bristol. The drive into town was easy and didn't take long, we had the hustle and bustle of the city for the evening and woke up in the countryside to the sound of songbirds. What more could you ask for.

The fact that I hadn't booked to stay longer 🤣

Jenny offered such as lovely welcome to her home. She offered to book us a table at a local pub for dinner when we arrived, she gave us brilliant directions to the wedding venue we were attending and her breakfasts were phenomenal. Everything Jenny puts into making her home a comfortable and welcoming place is done with such care and thoughtfulness. She also truly aims for the most ethical and sustainable living possible. She was genuinely wonderful to talk to at all times. The house itself is gorgeous and impeccably kept. We chose this accommodation initially due to it being situated within a 3 minute walk of Coombe Lodge where we were attending a wedding. We would happily stay again without another wedding to attend!

There is honestly nothing we didn't love about our stay.

Jenny made us feel like she was welcoming us as family. So friendly, bubbly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was warm and comfortable everything you needed for a great evening and slept so well on a fantastic bed. Breakfast was relaxed and the food was exceptional. We were lucky to be the only guests (actually we felt like family ) so had Jenny and Titch (adorable friendly dog) to ourselves. It was our anniversary and 1st time we had away on our own in 28 years and Jenny made it a memorable stay we will never forget and will make it a regular.

Nothing to fault.

It was a gem, everything had been thought of and nothing was too much trouble. We had a warm welcome from Jenny the host to her beautiful family home, in a picturesque part of Somerset. The setting was tranquil with far reaching views. It was ideally situated as we were attending a wedding nearby and the directions were spot on. The bed was extremely comfortable and breakfast freshly made and locally sourced. We only wished we were staying for longer and would definitely recommend.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Jen. She is a fabulous host and went through all the details in an incredibly personable way, giving us an insight into her life. We were immediately impressed by the detail she shared regarding the rooms, linen and breakfast options. Our room was clean, had high quality products and felt very homely. The bed was so comfortable and we had a lovely view of the garden and countryside. Breakfast was even better than described and we are so grateful for Jen having us to stay in her lovely home!
