My husband and I stayed at the Murum Heritage Hotel for 3 nights while visiting Split. It was the highlight of our two week European vacation! First, we absolutely loved the location and ambience. Everything was steps outside our door. Speaking of which, they provided someone to meet us outside the palace walls (no cars can get to the hotel). It was a fairly short walk, but our escort took care of the luggage so we could take in the stunning medieval architecture. We wove through narrow alleyways that I never thought I would figure out(you get the hang of it fairly quickly!). The convenience factor alone was worth the stay, but it was so much more than that. Knowing we were there celebrating our 10 year anniversary, they surprised us by decorating our room with balloons and providing a bottle of local sparkling wine, as well as a fresh fruit bowl. From start to finish they went above and beyond from making us dinner reservations, to providing beach towels for our beach visit, to delivering ice when requested. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Being in such a boutique style hotel means high end customer service and they did not disappoint!! I can’t recommend this hotel enough and will absolutely be back to stay in the future!!!

If I was extremely nit picky (and this is a very minor detail), I would suggest a floor fan for the terrace. We stayed in July and it was very hot. We loved staying in the room with a terrace, but didn’t end up staying outside too long since there wasn’t much of a breeze (not shocking being surrounded by stone walls). The air conditioning was perfect, so it wasn’t a big deal, but a fan could help on the hot Summer days and nights.

First of all, the staff. I can’t tell you how brilliant and helpful the staff are. From organising a car to bring us from the airport to the edge of the old town to then having a staff member lug our heavy luggage through the cobblestone laneways to the hotel itself. They gave us great tips of where to drink and dine and even (when they found out our next destination was Hvar) produced a detailed report of tour companies, bus timetables and places to dine there. They really do go the extra mile (and beyond) for you. Kudos and heartfelt thanks to all of them. The hotel is practically in the centre of the old town with dining options right at their front door and a stone’s throw from all the major attractions. It is in a beautifully converted old tower and so very charming. The rooms are incredibly spacious, tastefully appointed and comfortable. Even though we were right above the restaurants in the square below, the sound insulation of the rooms meant that we couldn’t hear any of the noise below. This was very much an amazing start to our trip to Croatia and we were thoroughly spoilt by staying here. The only problem might be how our expectations of anywhere else we stay in the country now could be unfairly raised. This hotel is the gold standard.

This hotel proved to be an excellent choice for our stay. The service was consistently outstanding, and we particularly want to commend Katja for her exceptional assistance. She was incredibly helpful and friendly, providing us with valuable recommendations for sightseeing, dining, and navigating the city. Her insights into the local history and culture were a welcome bonus. The hotel's location in the heart of the old town is ideal, allowing easy access to major attractions. Housed within 4th-century walls, the building itself is quite remarkable. Our room was tastefully decorated and offered a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to others seeking a charming and historical base for their travels. The combination of its unique character, prime location, and attentive staff make it a true standout.

There is absolutely nothing not to like about the property.

Great location within the old city walls. Staff were simply wonderful 10 out of 10. Great breakfast available through to 11am. Only a handful of rooms so no crowding, quite personal. We just felt happy here

Look I’m being picky here, but the design of the shower box is such that quite a bit of the bathroom floor gets wet. The mattress wasn’t a double but two singles put together. Neither of the the above diminished in any significant way what was a lovely stay

The location is perfect within the old town. The room was clean and comfortable and retained the character of the old buildings. It is within a very short walking distance of the main attractions and many restaurants. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I was only there for one night and had to leave early before breakfast but they provided a breakfast bag to take with me without asking for this. This was much appreciated. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Split and would make sure to stay longer next time to fully enjoy this hotel.

Nothing. Only thing to note for anyone with limited mobility is that the location is within the pedestrianised area of the old town where vehicles can't access.

This was one of the best hotel experiences my wife and I have ever had and we’ve travelled to many places around the world. The rooms were very nice, clean and included a piece of history in the stone walls inside the rooms, which was all excellent. But, the biggest factor in our experience was the staff. They were all Incredibly helpful, genuine, kind people available 24/7 to ensure we saw what was most interesting about Split, ate the best food in the area and had a smooth travel experience. We traveled in April, where they offered a discounted rate for our stay and there were also much fewer tourists. 10/10 would reccomend and hope to be back.

Location was premium. It was in the center of old town = palace. Could easily walk everywhere. The breakfast was wonderful with many options and eggs or waffles to order. Customer service was excellent = the best of all the places we stayed on our 2 week trip! Very accommodating and informative about the city and history of the hotel. We had a person meet us to help with our baggage upon arrival at the port and also help us get to our taxi when we left as the center is pedestrian only. Very pleased with our stay! :-)

Location excellent. Perfect for exploring the city. Amazing restaurants and sights just steps away. Just stunning. Receptionists incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Could not fault.

Breakfast was great. The area it is served in is a little cramped. Ideally they would organise some sort of deal with the restaurant just outside the hotel so you could eat breakfast outside. This is the ONLY thing they could improved an otherwise amazing stay. Would highly recommend.

This is an amazing little hotel, right in the heart of Diocletian's Palace and in fact our room featured some of the original walls. Although small, it's been designed really well and very stylish. Staff went out of their way to help us and could not have been more friendly. Beds super comfy and breakfast was great. I would recommend to others!

A coffee machine in the room please!

Th location in the old town was perfect. The room (#7) was on the top floor and there is an elevator or stairs, depending on how energetic you feel. One of the staff met us at the free parking place (!) near the old town and carried our luggage to the hotel. The staff was wonderful, so warm and welcoming and full of good suggestions for places to eat and visit. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast offerings were plentiful and delicious. Highly recommend this hotel!!
