The location was amazing! Our bedroom bridged Cardo Street so we could open up our windows and look straight out into old town and towards the cathedral and vestibule. Lying in bed taking in the atmosphere with the window open was amazing. Having said that, the room was quiet and peaceful as soon as we closed it - best of both worlds! The breakfast was a three course menu and absolutely delicious. The service was also great. The rooms were so clean and beautiful. Rituals products were divine. Cleaning staff were super quick and our room was always done perfectly by the time we arrived back. Finally, the hosts were brilliant and went above and beyond with helping with our luggage, booking us dinners (the best table in the house at Liones - chef’s kiss), recommending boat tours and giving general tips about where to go, what to see and the history of Split. Don’t hesitate - book this hotel as soon as you can! It’s was our favourite of the whole trip.

What a sparkling gem of a boutique hotel!! Outstanding location just a few steps from the center of the Diocletian Palace, beautifully outfitted rooms (cozy), and phenomenally attentive and skilled staff. This five-room micro-hotel is hidden but right in the middle of all the best of Old Split has to offer, in what was once a nobleman's home. Special thanks to Edita (days) and Dominic (evenings) for taking expert care of me, attending to dinner reservations, and assisting with transport, in addition to being lovely to talk to. When it was time to depart for my next vacation stop, I felt like I was leaving my own family!

I didn't realize Croatians were so tall! I couldn't even see the top of my hair in the bathroom mirror and the towel hooks were out of reach!! Too funny.

We loved our stay here. It's a small beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Diocletian's Palace (I don't think you could get a better location if you tried). The hotel is beautiful, updated, and very well decorated. Bed / Linens / Bathroom were all top notch. The nicest shower of our trip. The included breakfast was partnered with a local restaurant around the corner (Konoba Korta), which was perfect because it was on our list of places to try. Food quality was delicious and you had several choices to pick from, a la carte and freshly made. All of that said, the BEST part of our stay here was the staff. They went above and beyond in every interaction to provide a fantastic, personalized experience. It was truly a luxury, boutique experience. From helping with our luggage upon arrival, to asking for restaurant recommendations (they even made our reservation for us upon request, and personally escorted us to show us the restaurant - it was a nice touch). We got to meet three different members of the staff during our short stay with them, and they were all lovely people. Upon check out, we were helped with our bags again + they helped show us the best place to set our Uber pickup location, and helped bring our bags all the way to the Uber (which was several blocks from the Hotel).

We stayed at this lovely property for three nights and our experience was nothing short of fabulous. The location, service, history and attention to detail was simply over the top. Evita, Ivan and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The ease of communication from the very beginning of our stay, right up until we departed was easy and so much appreciated. We will certainly be back.

Overall, our stay was incredible. The property is beautiful and well cared for, and very clean. The staff are extremely kind and caring and they all go above and beyond to make your stay incredible. Ivan and Edita were very friendly and always helpful. Ivan helped us with our plans and even created a driving itinerary for us for one day of our trip, which we were very grateful for. The location and property were beautiful but it was the kindness of the people who worked there that made the stay feel welcomed and cared for. The breakfast was in a lovely courtyard outdoors, and the staff there were incredibly genuine and kind too. The server Carla remembered our preferences from the days before which we thought was very impressive.

Parking is a challenge and can be expensive but the staff are helpful in securing a spot.

Everything was exceptional at Hotel Cardo. Ivan and Idita were wonderful. Warm, accommodating. and constantly went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay.Their restaurant recommendations were fantastic.The location was perfect, right in the middle of Old Town Split in the heart of the Diocletian Palace. The property offered us the beauty of its ancient walls and surrounding but with all the modern bathroom, wifi amenties we needed. I would absolutely recommended this property when are visiting Split.

Our room and view was wonderful. overlooking the ancient cobblestoned walkway in the heart of the Diocletian's Palace. Hotel Cardo seemlessly retains the beauty and heritage of the Palace completed by modern amenities for our comfort. I would definitely recommend this property as the best in Split and look forward to visiting there again.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff went above and beyond—always friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. They had fantastic recommendations for local side trips and restaurants, which really made the experience even more memorable. The service made all the difference and added a personal touch that’s hard to find. Overall, an excellent experience. I would absolutely stay here again.

An excellent stay at a beautiful hotel. The staff were extremely attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. Whether that was giving us recommendations for restaurants, assisting us with luggage or just supplying us with extra bottles of water - nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Perfect location right in the middle of the palace. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Loved the location and the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Ivan met us at the parking space, help carry all of our bags and made a parking situation that could have been stressful so easy. The hotel is cute, clean and exceptionally comfortable. They only have 5 rooms and you really feel like being home. Highly recommend.
