It was truly amazing. The kindest host we could get. Wonderful lady that welcomed us with lemonade and very useful tips to enjoy the city. The room was very clean and comfortable. The best location.

Wonderful welcome from Malena - the room was very comfortable and met my needs as a solo traveler perfectly! I was so pleased to be inside the palace, within easy walking distance to everything - and close enough to come back to the room for a mid-day siesta

It was excellent and I would come here again in a heartbeat. Be aware that there are 3 flights of stairs to get to the unit, which was no problem for me. Some reviewers commented about noise, but this was not a problem for me at all. If the windows are open, there is some street noise, but the windows were excellent quality and I couldn’t hear a thing with them closed.

Basic, but spotless room with plenty of hot water, good AC, and a lovely host in Diocletian’s Palace. The owner is lovely and took immense pride in showing the room and her place. Travelers should be aware that there are three rooms and a central area with a coffee hutch, and our full bed was indeed a real bed without being two mattresses pushed together. Views are incredible and restaurant/shop access is wonderful!

Check-in and check-out times should be clearer on booking site (says check-in at 12 am and check-out at 10) and it should be clear that this is a private owner and not a hotel. I had a whole day layover and would really like to have had a hotel lobby for restrooms and sitting around a bit. No breakfast or coffee was offered. I was allowed a late check out at 11, but given all the restaurants are open until midnight, the extremely loud noise didn’t really die off until well after, and I didn’t sleep until 1 AM. I think check out times should be considerate of the extremely loud noise in town (and coming back from a music festival, I should have slept through anything!).

It was centrally located in the middle of Old Town. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, and port. Malena was an exceptional host, it’s like staying with your sweet grandmother. She provided laundry service during our stay and luggage storage upon check out. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on!

The only negative is, if it really is one at all, and nothing Malena can do about it. The apartment is in Old Town Split, you have to walk up about four flights of stairs, no elevator. But a great spot overall. Would definitely stay again

We loved each moment our stay with Malena. The rooms were clean and fresh, and had a beautiful view of the temple and clock tower. The room was air conditioned and had a fridge to keep any drinks and food cool for the next day. The bedding was also very comfortable. There is an added bonus of an upstairs terrace with the most gorgeous views of the city and was matched with some homemade lemonade 🍋 However, the main charm of this place is the lady that runs it, Malena. She gave us lots of great suggestions of what to see and do whilst staying in Split and even got us a Split Card which gave us free or discounted entry to a lot of local attractions! One of our favourite recommendations was the walk around the Forest Park Marjan which gave us a great view of the city and had amazing wildlife to see! Nothing was too much for Malena, and you could tell she genuinely cared for us whilst staying with her. She is the true selling point of this place! Would strongly recommend this place to anyone travelling to Split and we hope to come back soon! From Harry and Tom 😊

Nothing - it was fantastic through and through!

Malena and her husband were the perfect hosts from the minute we got there. She gave us a drink and told us all about the local amenities and attractions. You won’t get better value for money for this excellent location we absolutely loved it 😊 Wass very hot during our stay too but the air con worked very well

Only thing we would say is that the steps up to the third floor were quite difficult with luggage but Malena husband helped us so wasn’t so bad 👍

We had to book this last minute and we couldn’t be happier with how it worked out. We are so lucky it was available. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a large bed and large shower. And the view from the room was incredible, plus the balcony has a beautiful garden and even better views of the bell tower and Temple of Jupiter. The hosts are so incredibly kind and welcoming. Highly recommend if you’re looking to stay in Old Town.

This property is a gem! The location is within a short walking distance to the main attractions, restaurants and even bus station. A bonus is that it is very quiet at night. Malena is a super host! She went way above and beyond our expectations in making sure we were well oriented. Her generosity of spirit made our stay most enjoyable . Our room as well as the rest of the facilities was spotless. Definitely a high recommendation

The host Malena was wonderful, very welcoming – she greeted us with lemonade and cookies. The street where the apartment is located is noisy, but we couldn’t hear a thing inside as it is very well insulated. The bedding was comfortable. We felt safe all our stay.

There is no elevator in the building, which wasn’t mentioned, and that was the only negative point

The proprietor was so kind. She made me a fresh lemonade and took me up to the beautiful rooftop balcony to see the sunset. The room was comfortable .

The location is great for being right in the heart of things. But that comes with a noisy night. I was there on a holiday so things were especially rowdy. Also, be aware that you'll be carrying your luggage up a few flights of stairs.
