The Hotel is in a great location in the old part of Split and just behind the harbour's promenade. Our room was very comfortable and the staff very helpful but the breakfast is served in another hotel which is a pleasant walk along the seafront, but it's not made clear in the information when booking.

The hotel should make it clear that it doesn't have it's own dining room. Breakfast was fairly basic.

Me and the boys absolutely loved our stay at Plaza Marchi Old Town. The location is like a movie. It felt like we were living in a piece of history, but with all the modern comforts. Rooms were beautiful, with stone walls and stylish royalty designs which we felt royalty lol. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the beds were super comfortable after long days of exploring. One of our favorite parts was the rooftop with perfect for hanging out in the evening with a drink as shown on the photo with the boys and watching the sun go down over the city. It really made our stay special. The staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They gave great recommendations especially for dinner and made sure we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend this royalty place.

From the moment I walked in when I was greeted by the lovely Bianca, to the moment I checked out, I felt welcomed amongst luxury and warmth. Bianca went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, even helping me carry my heavy luggage. The room was impeccable. I cannot fault it. I had a view that made me feel as if I'd stepped back in time. It made for great photography. You have access to the rooftop terrace with 360° views. The building itself is a testament to history and I'm very grateful to have had this experience.

The location of this hotel is incredible. It's close to everything yet tucked away enough to remain quiet and peaceful. Its unique setting within a 2,000-year-old palace in the heart of Old Town sets it apart. Exploring the historic site within the hotel, which is still undergoing excavation, was a truly fascinating experience. The staff were extraordinary—kind, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile. A special shoutout to Nora and Ena, whose exceptional service made our stay unforgettable. When I needed extra time to finish some work, they kindly allowed me to use the rooftop, which boasts breathtaking 360-degree views of Old Town. It was a highlight of my stay. The hotel is beautifully charming, with spacious rooms and a remarkable shower. Every aspect was thoughtfully designed for comfort and enjoyment.

Parking was a bit far from the hotel, but that’s understandable since the Split Riviera is a completely pedestrian area.

This hotel is completely unassuming from the outside, but something really special on the inside. Built into the old palace, the interior is designed so you can actually look into the old walls. It came as such a surprise to us and we loved it. The rooms have a romantic feel / decor, which really fit the property and location well. We only stayed here one night before travelling further along the Dalmatian coast, and honestly, I wish we had stayed longer.

Could have been a bit forthcoming resupplying shower soap and there was no hand soap in the bathroom. Empty and didn’t refill. Just didn’t explain anything. Weren’t helpful

The antiquity! It’s beautifully renovated with all modern convenience but retains it ancient past. A quiet restful place right in the middle of Split old town. Next to Diocletians palace and cathedral square. Plenty of shops and eateries within metres. Easy access from Riva if you’re dragging suitcases. They allowed us to drop our luggage off at 10am and phoned to say our room was ready at 2pm. Great service!

Location is perfect.

Furniture a tad out of place (a plug-in massage couch(?!) next to the bed that didn’t work); fridge too small and stuck in a corner on the floor; no coffee maker. No breakfast at the hotel - you have to walk 650m (which is pleasant enough) along the promenade to another hotel to enjoy a pretty dreadful breakfast. Nobody has cleaned under the bed in months; bathroom had a previous guest’s long black hairs on the floor.

Taxis can’t reach it do you have to wheel your luggage from the taxi stand Also there was no one to help with luggage when we left and as there is no lift between ground and first floor only steep stairs you need to be able to cope with this
