We were travelling as a family of four with teenage kids and booked the two first floor rooms at Villa Dobric. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and quiet and had everything needed for our stay. Kids loved the free mini bar (soft drinks). The location was excellent. Ivan was an excellent host - he and other staff showed us such welcoming hospitality. He checked in with us before arrival and departure, and staff were helpful if we need anything. Breakfast was located a few winding minutes walk in the main hotel. It was very generous and included in the accommodation price. Would definitely recommend.

If you have mobility issues - there are a lot of stairs. Staff helped with our bags on arrival and departure.

Breakfast was amazing, as well as lunch and the welcome cocktail. There were tenors singing in the vestibule which was incredible to listen to while sipping on a much needed glass of preseco. What really made the trip was the staff, so friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. They even carried our suitcases to the port for us to ensure we knew the way and to help with the long haul. The hotel arranged transfer from Brela for us which was much appreciated. Great driver, nice van. Hotel being in two very separate and distant location seemed odd at first, but we embraced the adventure of winding our way through the long cobbled corridors. Rooms were fine, clean and quiet. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

The attention to detail and hospitality were unmatched. Ivan was the warmest welcome to this beautiful boutique hotel, a true guide to the city with wonderful recommendations and vast knowledge of the property. He also made sure to coordinate our arrival so we did not have to lug our heavy luggage from the street. In the evening Steven was at the front desk and was also such a pleasure with recommendations and accommodations. All the staff were so lovely and happy to assist us. The ambience and decor was sophisticated and went perfectly with the style of the beautiful stone from the 1300’s. It was such a treat to stay somewhere styled so beautifully. It was me and my one friend’s first time in split and I’m so glad this is where we chose to stay. As two solo female travelers we felt very safe. Make sure you uber places instead of using a taxi or it is 3x the price.

I’m a little confused about doing a review about the Vestubil because we didn’t actually stay there. When I made the booking I was excited about the prospect of staying inside Diocletian’s Palace and it was the main reason I booked there. Instead when we checked in, we were taken to a hotel on the other side of the main square. I still don’t know why! Even so the room, apart from the front door to the hotel that sometimes got stuck, was fine though a bit small for a 4 star hotel. However the service was outstanding especially Marina who always helped us when needed. And the breakfasts at the Vestibul was the best I’ve had in Europe. Outstanding.

Fabulous hotel! Despite being in the middle of the Diocletian palace the hotel was quiet and calm. The church bells didn’t disturb us at all. We ate breakfast there and it was amazing with so much variety and I was provided with gluten free bread. Dinner was excellent too - the monkfish stew was delicious. The staff are so helpful and attentive. The interior of the hotel is modern and immaculate and our room was comfortable and well-equipped. I would love to return.

Absolutely everything, it was an amazing experience from start to finish.I have travelled extensively and can honestly say that I arrived as a guest but left as a friend and will definitely return next time when in Europe.All the staff were incredible, and special thanks to Stephen(concierge extraordinaire), Marina, Ivan and Tony who all contributed to my amazing experience, from the best local places to dine, to making appointments and to booking my next accommodation.And the breakfasts in the courtyard....so beautiful

Location, location, location!! The hotel is directly in the wall of the vestibule of the palace. Our rooms #1 and #4 had windows that looked directly into the vestibule. It was magical to hear the singers and the classical guitarist at night playing there. Touring the basement of the palace, (that was featured in Game of Thrones as the space the dragons were held) our private guide showed us an area that was directly under the hotel! Staff was fantastic and so was the complementary breakfast. We are dairy and gluten free and they did a very nice job accommodating us. Highly recommended!

Loved the location and it’s historical backdrop. The staff was so helpful . Sandra was a delight as our server at dinner. Special consideration must be given to Ivan. His assistance was invaluable and helped us navigate the ferry, parking , restaurant recommendations and some of the history of the hotel and city. He was generous with his time and very professional.

I thought the food thought good, didn’t live up to the rest of the experience. However, the service was exceptional.

Truly an incredible place to stay It is a great location in old town. Quiet comfortable room. Great breakfast. Outstanding service and the staff were very helpful - not only coming to find us when we arrived in Split from the airport but also helping us when our luggage did not arrive on our flight The singing from the vestibule, a grand domed room, open to the sky was enchanting and fabulous Mia was so helpful and went above and beyond - very much appreciated We would most definitely stay here if we retuned to Split

In this world, there are few chances to stay in a hotel located directly inside a building with such ancient and important history attached to it as Diocletian's Palace. That fact was lost on me before I stayed here (because I, like most Americans, had no clue as to who Diocletian was nor his import in early AD-history) - and now is indelibly etched into my world view. Beyond that, this boutique hotel offers just what's needed: top-notch rooms, an excellent breakfast, a location supremely central to all that Split's old town has to offer, and a staff focused on making the customer experience perfect, starting from the mini-guided-tour of the Palace as they walk you from the car park, through the lower portion of the Palace, and up into the hotel.
