It’s super quiet and the staff are lovely. We were practically alone, or so it felt, as we hardly saw any other guests. If you’re after a bustling nightlife this place is not for you. It’s quiet and not much else around. For us, with a baby, it was perfect.

There isn’t much around so wouldn’t recommend staying longer than a few days. We asked if we could do an early checkin so our baby could have a nap once we got there, but we got a standard reply and were told if the room was ready upon arrival, we could… As we’re travelling with a baby, we didn’t want to risk having to sit and wait out in the heat so opted to come later (after nap time). When we arrived we realised the hotel was practically empty so found it very strange that we couldn’t check in earlier. It’s a tiny thing, but was annoying. Should mention that they did let us check out late which was great!

The property was ok, but not quite what we were expecting. Seems a bit dated, would have been a great venue 20 years ago. Pool is very good, and location is ok, but a long way from other eating venues etc. Breakfast was very good, good range of delicious fresh foods.

We had booked a room with direct pool access, and via the pics, it is via steps straight into the pool, unfortunately our room had stairs to the pool, which wasn’t the same. Bed was too firm. Place needs about of renovation, some works going on, but much needs to update. Set menu for dinner was not to our taste, and so we weren’t interested in trying out. Went offsite to other eating venues, which were pretty good.

The breakfast was fantastic. The free shuttle to Nathon & Chaweng. The Grounds and peaceful vibes.

It perhaps used to be of the 5* standard & definately has the makings to becoming one once again. It is tired & in need of some TLC. No activities as advertised. Both kayaks were broken when I asked to use one. The prices @ the beach bar were a bit over the top in my opinion. We also requested to move rooms when we arrived as the room was not clean at all. The 2nd one was an improvement.

We found Mai Samui to be extremely luxurious. Some reviews mention that parts of the hotel feel a bit outdated, but we really didn’t see it that way. The materials used — solid hardwood, metal, stone — are beautiful and give the place a natural, high-quality feel. The layout is peaceful and the lighting is very atmospheric. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Our daughter even got a little apple juice from the pool bar, which made her day. The beds were super comfortable, and we were really able to relax here. It’s true that the sea is too shallow to swim, but the pools are fantastic. Some reviews mention concerns about pool hygiene, but we constantly saw at least two staff members working to keep everything clean. Don’t forget this hotel is located in a forested area and the pools are surrounded by trees. Naturally, some leaves fall into the water. That’s part of the setting. The staff, especially Coco, deserve a big compliment. Very service-minded and attentive. The breakfast was fantastic! We would absolutely recommend Mai Samui for a peaceful and luxurious stay.

Lovely resort, staff very friendly. We booked this hotel for the pool and we weren't disappointed, truly incredible! We had a pool entry room and it was well worth it. We'd had a lot of days exploring from other parts of the island, this was the perfect pool to swim and relax for a few days. A comfy bed, a great shower, with very good pressure and hot water. Breakfast had a good selection, the egg/ omelette station was my go to. Some nice restaurants near by, we had a scooter hired so location wasn't a problem. Without a scooter taxi will be the way to get to most places but being Thailand, this would still be affordable. We will come back and stay here. Thank you

Beautiful property,nice and secluded... Pool access was great from the room and the room had a massive tub too. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially the one at the beach bar(forgot his name). Food is priced reasonably...we didn't need to leave the place.

None really. Use share taxi from the airport as they turn out to be a cheaper option to reach the property.

The room was really nice, good size, all we needed was provided. We had big bathtub in the bathroom. There is a beach bar and two restaurants on site, we used only one as oneof them is more fancy and had limited menu. There are two swimming pools, one bigger just right at the beach bar and another one smaller in the other part of the resort where our room was. Area is very quite and so good for a family. Staff have all beem very nice and helpfull.

The place is a bit run down, as it is probably open for a long time so probably some refresh would be good. There was not many people in the resort at the time but we got room in the other further side of the resort but it would be nice to be in the main building.

Great breakfast, great pool, fantastic rooms, small but nice beach.

The restaurant was bad. Very pricy for very small portions. And there is no alternative around because of the location. AND they should have a nicer pier. The plastic thing looks horrible and unusable.

Overall, I had a great experience with the Mrs Nok (receptionist) was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect to for holiday. Private bathtub and large children pool. At the evening, this hotel is the best place to watch sunset.
