We spent 4 lovely days & nights there, we had a nice comfortable villa with pool. The gardens are absolutely marvellous, the Thai restaurant is excellent, we were served by a very nice waiter, called Pad, very professional and caring. All the resort team is sympathetic and smiling. The sanctuary swimming pool is fantastic, very quiet, relaxing and beautiful, as the children tend to go to the big pool near the beach. Nice spa.

Just one remark, if we compare to other 5 Stars resort, there is a global lack of caring of the whole resort. For example in the magnificent "sanctuary pool" there are many pool tiles broken (apparently since a long period) and nobody replaces them... Because the whole resort is in a marvellous garden, well kept by the gardeners, but when you look into the details, everywhere you see broken pieces, rusty parts, tubes & cables that should be hidden, etc... Our pool after two days was full of flowers and leaves and nobody took care of it, we had to call the reception. So to the General Manager and the Owner, please have a serious look at all these details that could ruin your image. What a pity!

Fabulous resort. We were lucky enough to get upgraded from our 2 bedroom villa with pool, to a 3 house villa with a pool. It was as fantastic as it sounds. All personnel were extremely nice and welcoming. Would recommend 10 out of 10!

The only downside to the resort are the very high prices in the restaurants. We had breakfast included, and would go to the next door restaurant for lunch as is was easily 1/2 price and just as delicious. The night market near fisherman’s village for dinner was a favourite.

A fantastic family hotel. Great service and nice rooms and facilities. The adults only pool was a nice little haven away from the rest of the hotel. The food selction for breakfast, lunch and dinner was great. The location was fantastic with what felt like a private beach. The rooms were a great size and cleaned very well. I would recommend this hotel and hope to get back one day!

Three small things to mention are - 1) It is a little dated. 2) Service was very, very friendly but could be as little slow around the pool and occasionally forgot orders. 3) Location. In many ways a highlight as it's secluded and feels private but it is a little out of the action areas.

Everything was just perfect! Big thanks to the management of the hotel- Mr. Simon and Mr. Noni. They made our stay very pleasant and special! Lovely atmosphere and cozy environment, attention paid to the details , which made our stay unforgettable !! It’s beautiful.

We absolutely loved every aspect of this resort — from the stunning surroundings and beautifully designed accommodations to the serene pools, exceptional restaurants, and incredibly warm, welcoming staff. Our room was nothing short of amazing. The layout was thoughtfully planned, and having our very own private pool made the experience truly luxurious. The resort’s location was another highlight. Set in a secluded part of the island, it offered peace and privacy, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in everything the resort had to offer without feeling the need to venture out. The private beach and main pool area provided hours of relaxation and fun, complete with breathtaking ocean views. The attentive staff were always nearby, ready to assist with anything we needed. There's also a beautiful adults-only garden pool, which offered a more tranquil space for unwinding and was just as impressive. We indulged in multiple spa treatments during our stay, and each massage and treatment was top-notch — some of the best we've ever had. The resort features two main restaurants offering a delicious mix of Thai and Western cuisine. We dined at both throughout our stay and were consistently impressed by the quality and flavor of every dish. In fact, the Western dishes were so well-prepared, they rivaled — and sometimes exceeded — those we've had in their countries of origin. The staff truly deserve special mention. Their warmth, friendliness, and constant smiles created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. In-room dining was also available, which made it convenient to enjoy a peaceful breakfast or meal in the comfort of our villa. There’s a gym on-site as well. While a few of the machines could use an update, the space was clean, spacious, and well-equipped for a complete workout. This resort is a true gem, perfect for families, couples, and children alike. We were thoroughly impressed and are already looking forward to returning.

Nothing to mention.

Unique resort in that it is both exclusive but also affordable and relaxed…easy to leave the rest of the world behind…Even though there were other guests there it always was quiet and peaceful and easy to find spots where no one else was around(other than of course the staff who always available to serve and always with a warm smile.

Having to go home

We had awesome stay by the beach. The room is clean and the pool view is awesome. Every staff cares about us and wants us to have the most comfortable stay.

Secluded location, clean beach, huge, beautiful, well-preserved territory. Spacious room, friendly staff

This was my second time at Melati. 8 years ago they’ve had fabulous breakfast with large variety of fresh fruits: mangos, mangosteens. There also was a stand, where they’ve made fresh juices in front of guests. This time breakfast was very basic as for 5* hotel. From fruits there were only watermelon, pineapple and dragon fruit. Salmon was offered only on 1 out 5 breakfasts. Our omelettes were raw inside couple of times. We tried also lunch and dinner. Thai dishes were ok but average. European and American dishes, like burgers or pizza were below average. Looks like the hotel management decided to optimize food costs not caring much about quality. Rooms interior also requires renovation. Some walls, ceilings and floor have cracks on it. The furniture also needs a refreshment.

The rooms are gorgeous. The private pool is very nice with space to relax around the pool. The staff are lovely. The facilities are great and it’s well positioned on the beach. The breakfast buffet was probably the best we have experienced out of many resorts we stayed in and overall Melati was my favourite resort. It’s good if you would like to stay in at the resort, as it’s not in the main area of Koh Samui. You can still easily get transport to go into town areas.

The restaurants are pricey in comparison to what we were used to throughout Thailand; therefore, we opted for grab food deliveries instead. They take a 1000 baht/night deposit incase of damages which can take 14-21 business days to clear (this is unfortunate as some of our holiday money can’t be used now due to this). There is a lot of mosquitoes but Melati go to great lengths to minimise this (with procedures carried out daily).
