the front desk person was not qualified to do her job. No taxi except to pier. cannot get taxi down town. rental of motorcycle or scooter requires them to keep passport. I will never ever let someone have my passport to keep for a week.

Despite a charming and dedicated team, this post-covid hotel is closer to a ghost resort than a former 4-star establishment. With half of the abandoned bungalows with their greenish private swimming pools, a dump beach and a deserted terrace restaurant, you will absolutely have to rent a scooter to find your leisure elsewhere..

The beach and pool were dirty and weren't maintained well. The private beach was a particular low point as it was full of rubbish. Would have loved to spend some time there but instead travelled to nearby, well maintained beaches. Really ruined the experience of staying at 'The Bay'. Being that we were there in January (high season) we would have expected that the place was ready for visitors but it felt unloved.

Rooms were really comfortable and clean. Bathroom ok but tired, and grouting needs attention. Staff were really friendly and apologetic for a place that has come out of mothballs after covid.

Not at all like the description. No restaurant or bar. Second pool was a mosquito haven. Main pool was clean but loungers old, sodden and dirty. Whole site very tired and on need of updating.

Breakfast was not that bad

Our stay at The Bay Samui was extremely disappointing. We encountered numerous issues that completely ruined our vacation: 1. No WiFi or hot water in the room upon arrival. 2. For three days, the beach in front of the hotel was covered in garbage (plastic, shoes, debris), while nearby beaches were clean. 3. The hotel’s grounds were filthy, with garbage everywhere. 4. Room cleaning was inconsistent and only provided after repeated requests. 5. On New Year’s Eve, the electricity went out—no air-conditioning, unbearable heat, and mosquito bites all night. 6. No mosquito nets on the windows, which is standard in Thailand. 7. Window locks were broken, compromising security. 8. The private pool we paid for was non-functional for almost the entire stay. In addition, the hotel manager was extremely unprofessional and showed no understanding of how to welcome guests. She seemed unaware of what is important for people who traveled from another continent to spend their precious vacation days in her country. This was unacceptable for the price paid and far from the standards advertised. I do not recommend this property.
