We spent 4 lovely days & nights there, we had a nice comfortable villa with pool. The gardens are absolutely marvellous, the Thai restaurant is excellent, we were served by a very nice waiter, called Pad, very professional and caring. All the resort team is sympathetic and smiling. The sanctuary swimming pool is fantastic, very quiet, relaxing and beautiful, as the children tend to go to the big pool near the beach. Nice spa.

Just one remark, if we compare to other 5 Stars resort, there is a global lack of caring of the whole resort. For example in the magnificent "sanctuary pool" there are many pool tiles broken (apparently since a long period) and nobody replaces them... Because the whole resort is in a marvellous garden, well kept by the gardeners, but when you look into the details, everywhere you see broken pieces, rusty parts, tubes & cables that should be hidden, etc... Our pool after two days was full of flowers and leaves and nobody took care of it, we had to call the reception. So to the General Manager and the Owner, please have a serious look at all these details that could ruin your image. What a pity!

Fabulous resort. We were lucky enough to get upgraded from our 2 bedroom villa with pool, to a 3 house villa with a pool. It was as fantastic as it sounds. All personnel were extremely nice and welcoming. Would recommend 10 out of 10!

The only downside to the resort are the very high prices in the restaurants. We had breakfast included, and would go to the next door restaurant for lunch as is was easily 1/2 price and just as delicious. The night market near fisherman’s village for dinner was a favourite.

Everything was just perfect! Big thanks to the management of the hotel- Mr. Simon and Mr. Noni. They made our stay very pleasant and special! Lovely atmosphere and cozy environment, attention paid to the details , which made our stay unforgettable !! I would like to highlight another staff of this amazing hotel, who provided us instant care and immaculate hospitality! I would suggest to have a better quality of coffee machines in the hotel.

A fantastic family hotel. Great service and nice rooms and facilities. The adults only pool was a nice little haven away from the rest of the hotel. The food selction for breakfast, lunch and dinner was great. The location was fantastic with what felt like a private beach. The rooms were a great size and cleaned very well. I would recommend this hotel and hope to get back one day!

Three small things to mention are - 1) It is a little dated. 2) Service was very, very friendly but could be as little slow around the pool and occasionally forgot orders. 3) Location. In many ways a highlight as it's secluded and feels private but it is a little out of the action areas.

It’s beautiful.

Unique resort in that it is both exclusive but also affordable and relaxed…easy to leave the rest of the world behind…Even though there were other guests there it always was quiet and peaceful and easy to find spots where no one else was around(other than of course the staff who always available to serve and always with a warm smile.

Having to go home

We had awesome stay by the beach. The room is clean and the pool view is awesome. Every staff cares about us and wants us to have the most comfortable stay.

extra activities for kids are not free. I think it should be included with the stay

Nice hotel complex with a beautiful garden area and a restaurant directly at the beach. The rooms are spacious and have a balcony with a bathtub. Thongson beach is beautiful and good for swimming.

What really needs to be improved are the sockets in the rooms — they did not work properly. Besides, you just have to know that Melati is a big resort without a personal guesthouse atmosphere and located quite remotely.

This was my second time at Melati. 8 years ago they’ve had fabulous breakfast with large variety of fresh fruits: mangos, mangosteens. There also was a stand, where they’ve made fresh juices in front of guests. This time breakfast was very basic as for 5* hotel. From fruits there were only watermelon, pineapple and dragon fruit. Salmon was offered only on 1 out 5 breakfasts. Our omelettes were raw inside couple of times. We tried also lunch and dinner. Thai dishes were ok but average. European and American dishes, like burgers or pizza were below average. Looks like the hotel management decided to optimize food costs not caring much about quality. Rooms interior also requires renovation. Some walls, ceilings and floor have cracks on it. The furniture also needs a refreshment.

This is a nice resort with 2 pools (no hot tub), a breakfast restaurant (not good), a pool bar, a dinner restaurant and a beach. The location is good where you can take a quick grab to the beaches or night markets - also very close to temples/buddhas. The staff was friendly and they keep the resort extremely clean and well maintained. Pool villa was cool and they give you a skimmer so you can clean the pools at any time. They also have mosquito coils outside the villa. 2 waters provided for free everyday.

The beach/pool chairs were all occupied whenever we got there and there were no towels everytime we needed one. Mid shower on the 2nd to last day, the water stopped coming out after we just lathered up with soap. We called the front desk and they said they would call back. They called back a few minutes later offering for us to go 2 doors down and finish showering. We refused and they ended up moving us to a pool villa so we packed up our room and they helped us move over there. Water in the bath tub for the pool villa was scalding hot to the point that we couldn’t even go in (no option for cold water)
