Great kitchen to cook most things. Huge fridges, filtered water. The location is great, it's on the beach! Staff is welcoming. If you are on a budget, you can get here by bus from LAX by M (connector shuttle) & 232 bus at Aviation/LAX. It's a little bit of a walk from the bus stop, but no biggie. Bathrooms are clean. Shower booths have a good amount of space, the water is nice and hot. The dorm locks are quiet, which really helps with people getting in late or midnight bathroom runs.

There are quite a few rooms in the hostel, but there are a few rooms that will face the bar street. Those bars will play music until about 2 AM even on a Tuesday. So hope you have a good pair of earplugs in case you are unlucky. These are not negatives, but just my experiences and expectations/nice to haves'. The mattress was a bit too soft for my back. No shower soap or shampoo, so bring your own. Towel will be a few bucks extra, so expect that too. No curtains on the beds. Would love to see a solution for phone placement while charging, a small shelf on the wall, maybe a hanging cloth shelve for a phone, mask, earplug and such.

At the beach! Close to the bara and clubs. Cleaning every day. Beds were very good. Breakfast amazing. Kitchen very good. Daily group acticities!

A strange smell but because of the Price it was ok. Some of the workers couldnt speak a lot of English. And some of the workers were amazing. Some times they run out of eggs or bananas during the breake fast so you were not sure that everything was there. It was not like that every morning.

Very budget-friendly. View of beach and pier from room. Great breeze. No a/c needed. Bed was comfortable. Staff were great and other guests were friendly. People from all over the world. Bathrooms were shared male and female, which was fine with me. Everyone was very chill about it. Good Stuff restaurant was right around the corner.

Hostel is on the second and third floor, so be aware that there is no elevator. But staff helped with carrying luggage upon request.

This location was a beautiful stay especially for my first time traveling alone. It was my first time ever staying at a hostel which I was iffy about at first but as soon as I got there it was great and nothing like i was expecting. staff was super nice, and you could see the beach from my room! the beach is just steps away also which is perfect for morning time. I definitely felt very safe and welcomed.

Only thing about it was the parking. The free parking was a 10 min walk from the place itself, but you do get what you paid for so it wasn't to to bad but definitely a wallkk.

It was a last minute booking because my flight was cancelled and during the tour around the hostel, which by the way the receptionist was very receptive and provide all information in detail, I received a call saying my flight would be rescheduled for the same night. It was a shame because I loved the place. As a traveler I always chose the cheapest option to save some money I thought would be horrible because was cheap and I confess that I should have stayed over there the whole time. I loved that is a historic/old building surviving in the midst of unbridled and capitalist Los Angeles. It is not a new building so, if you are picky it is not for you. The facilities are dated. I will definitely be back!

The staff were incredible and very kind, helpful and friendly. The location next to the beach was unique and a big plus. The check-in was super quick, easy and thorough as the staff were very attentive. The price was more than reasonable and having food available for breakfast was so convenient. The kitchen was extra spacious and a plus. I enjoyed the interaction with other guests from all around the world. I hope to return in the future.

Not much the facility can change about the late and loud music from the establishments below ... but I expected that and it was not something that would change my good feeling about my stay.

I came with my family of five and we stayed here just for one night as a layover. It was my father's birthday and our main destination was Hawaii. My father and mother had a private bedroom and private bath on the corner. They enjoyed the view of the ocean but being older, did not really appreciate the bars below as noise could go late into the evening when they wanted to sleep. Myself and my girlfriend had a private room with no bath. My brother had a private bed in a four bed dorm. We enjoyed the beds - very comfortably. Even though we weren't here for a long time, we really appreciated the staff being super friendly and the location is amazing. Right outside is the beach, Pier, plenty of cafes for breakfast, and plenty of bars and restaurants open late into the evening. Some of the best views of California on the beach. The rooms are very clean. Bathrooms are very clean. The staff is also very accommodating. All rooms you can see the ocean. Very affordable.

We were only here a couple hours, but we wanted to stay much longer. My father and mother being older, didn't like the noise level of the bars below. So be aware that there are bars open until about 2:00 a.m. My brother found bugs In his private bed dorm so he switched to a different bed to sleep. Had a 7:00 a.m. flight so we didn't get to try breakfast. Overall, our stay was very much enjoyable and these did not take away anything from our trip.

I had an amazing stay at ITH in Hermosa Beach! The location is unbeatable, just steps from the beach, with stunning ocean views and plenty of nearby restaurants and attractions. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to make me feel at home. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a cozy atmosphere that made my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing, beachside getaway with great service and a fun vibe.

Nothing I didn’t like!

Third time staying here. Great location, I love Hermosa Beach. Wifi is fast and reliable, was able to do some work remotely. Breakfast keeps gettin better, there’s pancakes and eggs now. Staff were great too, friendly and helpful.

This didn’t matter to me cause I sleep late, but travelers should be aware that the hostel is surrounded by bars and it’s pretty noisy outside until the bars close. They do give free earplugs though. They may also run out of free food during breakfast. Best to wake up early if you want to avail of the free meal.

The staff of the hostel is amazing(visited 8 cities for 5 weeks in the US, Canada and the UK this time. They are absolutely the best I’ve met throughout the whole journey). They are not just workers at a hostel but my friends now. The location is fabulous. Safe area, a couple minute walk to the pier, you can just look at the beach from the property, too. Lots of pubs and bars downstairs. They also have events every single day. I loved meditation session and the music night. I wanted to join them for taco Tuesday but missed it. Breakfast is good since they have fruit and eggs as well as pancakes! If you’re a fan of LaLaLand, visit Light House downstairs. I happened to know that at the very last minute before leaving.

The hall way had a little bit odd smell but it is still clean overall.
