The room had a direct ocean view with a nice patio where we spent quite a bit of time. It was very well-appointed and clean. Also, the bottle of wine and the other goodies that were our welcome gift were greatly appreciated and unexpected. The staff was very responsive to any of our needs.

On the second evening of our stay, we attended the "Sundowner Session", which is basically happy hour, at Salt and Wood, the restaurant on the property. It should be noted that the restaurant is not affiliated with the Sanctuary. We ordered the fresh oysters and the last one I ate tasted a bit off. It was more than a little off. I was sick with Food Poisoning for the next 3 days (pretty much the rest of our stay). The restaurant was very responsive and tried to make things right when I told them what happened, as I didn't want anyone else to go through what I was experiencing.

I had a Deluxe room and that means the Beach/Ocean is directly out the sliding glass door which is great! View of Course is excellent and at night you can see the Monterey Pier all lit up at night. The Fire Place in the room is the heater and you can crank it up and open the sliding glass door to hear the Surf at night, let me tell you, I slept like a baby (that is when I slept ;) ).

Sanctuary lets lodgers bring there dogs. Now I do not mind pets, but I do mind when there owners let them bark for most of the night, not a good thing when you are paying $1000 a night!

We truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful resort. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly attentive and helpful, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of. We had a small issue on our first night, but they responded quickly and found a solution right away, which we really appreciated. Dinner at the restaurant was a highlight — the food was excellent and the live jazz music created a perfect ambiance. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and starting the day with their morning yoga session was an absolute treat. Overall, it was a relaxing and refreshing weekend getaway. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

To be able to have an Ocean front room , was a plus . To enjoy the sounds of the waves. To be able to enjoy a cup of coffee in the am and Wine in the sunset . To be able to bring our dog and take her for nice walks at the beach . Very nice and peaceful sanctuary . This is one of our favorite spot in Cali.

A Big group of guests had loud music and took over the whole Play court . We could not even enjoyed that area during the couple of days . Some dog owners will not pick up after their dogs or keep dogs on leashes . The location needs a special green area for potty breaks . Not all over the sand .

This was our 9th stay at The Sanctuary. The location and the fact that they are dog friendly keeps us coming back to our "home" away from home. The staff are all very friendly. Nice touch with a personalized note and a bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us. It was both my birthday and my dogs birthday and they left a happy birthday balloon for my dog. These little touches make the guest feel special.

Ordered the dog amenity. Last visit it was a cute wooden platter shaped like a bone with some home baked dog biscuits that my dog loved. Unfortunately this time it was a hard bone that I could not give to my dog. $20 wasted. I do feel they should acknowledge our loyalty. No mention what so ever.

Stepping right onto ocean's sand from our room was really cool. Room was lovely and clean. We kept our ebikes in the room which made it a little tight but we had an option to leave them in a storage area but wanted them at our "beck in call." The breakfast of yogurt and fruit was delicious but a little pricey.

We had dinner reservations at the wharf both nights that we stayed. I would have liked an opportunity to eat at the restaurant on site but their hours are very limited. It would of been nice to have breakfast or lunch there.

Sanctuary Beach Resort was and absolute highlight of our trip! The location is stunning, right on the beach with breathtaking ocean views and direct access to the sand. Our bungalow-style room was beautifully designed, spacious, and had a private balcony where we could relax and watch the waves. The resort’s peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind. We loved the fire pits in the evening, creating a cozy and romantic setting. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. If you’re looking for a serene and luxurious escape along the California coast, Sanctuary Beach Resort is a must-visit!

Location was really great, and views. Location was also pretty convenient despite being outside of Monterey

BEWARE!! - Edit: I got a huge charge of almost $400 with no explanation - and if I hadn't been checking on my bank account I might have not noticed. The charge was not catalogued in the bill or anything. The front desk clerk at first told me some of it was associated with an environmental fee with the resort but that is covered in Booking.com price. I am still actively asking them what this charge is for and also when they will refund it. The bed situation was weird. The blankets were thin and there is no ac or heat thru a central system besides the fire place so it got really cold at night. The bed was also kind of old so it wasn’t super comfortable

Such a nice place. It was recently remodeled. Really nice place to relax. We took our dog since it’s a pet friendly resort.

Not specifically to the property itself but our neighbor complained due to our dog barely barking. I appreciated the hotel being dog friendly and they did everything to accommodate. Overall other guests with dogs were great. Staff was super friendly. Clean resort. Some (actually just 1, our neighbor) were just jerks. Glad we only saw them once. Can’t believe they complained at 3pm when our dog barely barked.

I recently stayed at a beautiful hotel just steps from the ocean, and it was an unforgettable experience! The view from my room was absolutely breathtaking, with clear views of the waves rolling in and the golden sands stretching out in front of me. Waking up to the sound of the ocean each morning was pure bliss. The hotel itself was charming and well-maintained, offering great amenities that made my stay comfortable and relaxing. The location was perfect, with easy access to the beach and nearby restaurants. I couldn’t have asked for a better spot to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the coast. Highly recommend!
