Loved staying in a historic building and sitting on the porch sipping cold drinks on a hot summer day. The bed were comfortable, linens were crisp, shower water was hot. We also loved the refillable glass water bottles instead of single-use plastic. All hotels should do this! Breakfast in the dining room was delicious - the corned beef hash and blueberry pancakes were the best I’ve had. We didn’t eat in the formal dining room but enjoyed the casual open-air courtyard instead. The meal and young servers were excellent and did a good job juggling many people arriving at the same time. Fish and chips, lobster roll, wedge salad, and pecan pie were all delicious. And of course, the location is close to all the Berkshire attractions.

There was just one disappointment. When I booked 2 rooms for a party of four people on booking.com, there was no note that one of the rooms is NOT in the main inn. So 2 of us ended up in the Steven’s House on Pine St. It was only a few minutes walk away but we would have preferred to be in the main inn. The front door knob to the house had a lock but the knob was loose and seemed as if it was going to get pulled off.

The Red lion inn is a destination my wife and I have had on our list for a long time. When we arrived it was more beautiful than we imagined. The staff was so welcoming and friendly, and every where you looked no matter where you are in the inn you are graced with pieces of history. There are painting, actual photos, antiques, mirrors and so much more. Staying here was like staying overnight in a museum with something different around every corner. When we arrived in our room the smell of clean linen filled the air. There was not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere. The next morning we made our way downstairs for breakfast and again we were overwhelmed with how amazing our waitress was to the absolutely delicious food. This place did not disappoint. After check out we sipped a cup of coffee on the front porch overlooking the side walk and main rd then made our way into the bar for a drink. The bartender was excellent and talked with us like we were old friends not guests. This is a must stay or even just stop in for food or a drink while you are in or around stockbridge.

Two dinners and one breakfast were exceptional. Dining room and Tavern ambiance were lovely. Very nice staff. Great gift store, swimming in the heated pool surrounded by snow banks - Fun!

Unfortunately, there was a multiple family ski group staying on Saturday 2/8. Their 8-12 yr old children were running and yelling up and down hallways and through the common areas, and trashed the event room right down the hall from my room. No intervention from parents. I finally had to call front desk at 9pm to complain. I wish management had nipped this in the bud earlier in the evening.

The Inn is lovely and the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful

The rooms are a little dated and while that is the charm of the inn, the windows did not close properly so standing near them was quite cold. The heat in the room when we entered was very high, I assume in response to the window alignment but that seems expensive and inefficient, but it did not in any way diminish our stay. The restaurant was beautiful and our waiter was so nice and attentive without being intrusive but the menu was a little eclectic for a less adventurous palate. A chicken option and/or a simple green salad would have been welcome options.

The gentleman at the check-in counter was lovely - he was polite, welcoming, and provided all the information I needed for checking in and checking out. He also helped me put in a reservation for dining at the inn's restaurant the same evening I checked in. The lobby/reception area is charming and very comfortable. I particularly liked the rocking chairs where I could just sit with a drink and chill. My room is beautifully decorated in the old New England style, and very comfortable.

This isn't a deal-breaker, but I have so spoilt by key cards that I was not very comfortable with the old fashioned keys to the rooms!

dinner in the Lion's den was speedy and good. The bar is a bonus as provided a nice cocktail in the courtyard. The staff were attentive and did a good job meeting our needs

the breakfast service could have been quicker. we waited 15mins for a latte & hot chocolate. I wouldn't recommend the latte, better to just have filter as the latte was bitter and took a long time to arrive. The food arrived quickly and was good.

We have been here before and returned because we love the overall comfort, coziness and ways in which you encourage connection between people. The many ways that invite to get out of one's room and justWe came at a time (April) in between season, sit downstairs with a book or a drink, the many lovely details, the quiet, the lack of Musac.. We had a great room with additional space.

I honestly did not miss anything

I loved that the historic quality of the Inn was preserved and that it had not been renovated to death. Its antique charms were well preserved and that’s what I loved best. The creaking floors, the dark hallways with nooks and crannies, the wonderful antiques. Please don’t change!

The food! We stayed 5 nights and I only had one good meal during that time. After the first two days, we stopped eating at the hotel.

The Inn is wonderful. Beautiful furnishings. Every inch of the place is filled with antiques. It is like stepping back in time. They even still have telephone booths!

The Inn is on the Main street. I am a light sleeper and found the street traffic noise disturbing. However, I would definitely stay again and ask for an inside room.

Breakfast was delicious, rooms nice size, historic setting, friendly staff, Jane and Jack, dinner at the tavern was delicious. Decor is great, coffee in morning is greatly appreciated. Lovely shops and great location

The warm water on the faucet never seemed to get warm- even waiting over minute- same for shower, rooms were very warm and trouble regulating temperature- needed to open windows; getting screen down was difficult. Alcohol is very expensive
