Comfortable king-size bed; refrigerator and microwave (though we didn't use the microwave); very nice shower with no danger of scalding. Contactless check in/check out, but staff was very responsive when I called with a problem. Clear information about how to get assistance from "parent" property. Room was spacious; we had a table and two chairs out front of the room and two very comfortable easy chairs in the room. Convenient location for attending events at Tanglewood and Shakespeare & Co. in Lenox. We also made a day trip to Williamstown. We ate breakfast in Stockbridge. Great location for hiking, though we didn't really do any. All the staff people we met in person or by phone were very nice.

Room was a little on the dingy side--I suspect this property will be upgraded in the near future. Blinds were tension blinds, very annoying--one of them broke (lost tension). A staff person came right away to replace it, but the second one broke the second time we tried to raise it! Air-conditioning unit was quite noisy--not so different from the ones you typically find in motels, but it made sleeping difficult for me. The first night we returned after seeing a play in Lenox it was kind of hard to spot the driveway--we ended up driving past and then had to find a safe place to make a U-turn. The sign is not huge. Once we recognized the landmarks it was easier to find in the dark.

Location was quiet, beds were comfy with crisp sheets, the room was cozy with old pictures, retro appliances, nice courtyard to sit in. It was self check in, had a text with information on the secure combination for the lock on the door (last 4 of my phone) so easy to remember. We had a telephone number to call if we needed any assistance for the Red Lion and could have gone for coffee and breakfast at the restaurant there as well. There are plenty of places to grab a coffee and eat in Great Barrinton, a couple of miles down the road…even a quick coffee from McDonalds.

We loved The Little Lion. Check in is a breeze. Before you arrive, you are sent the room number and pin number and when you arrive, you are all set. Clean, comfortable, quiet, serene, The dogs loved being there. Room amenities were perfect. Nice linen and towels. Room smelled clean when we arrived. Shower was great. Great hot water. Heat worked well. The grounds are nice. Walking trails, restaurants and shopping are all close by. We can't say enough about this motel. The Red Lion did a great job with this little gem. You also get to use the ameneties of the Red Lion Inn which is just up the road. (Even the pool and hot tub!!) My wife and I were impressed with the value of this motel. And did I mention there is NO PET FEE AT ALL!? This was our first visit to The Little Lion and definitely not our last.

Rhonda is absolutely wonderful. I rated it a 9/10 because its a motel, so a bit of a different feel. That being said the rooms were clean and the price point is incredible. I can't recommend Rhonda and her staff more. They are why we kept coming back! :) Rhonda gave us complimentary s'mores kits for the kids to have around the firepit one night. One family mentioned not much to do around the area during the night and this definitely satisfied that need! Highly recommend coming here understanding its "no frills" and just "right"! :)

The location was awesome. Right across the road from hiking trails. And close to town. I loved that we were able to use the amenities at the red lion inn. They were very friendly there. The area behind the hotel was awesome for my dogs.

I didn’t love that there was nobody on site if you needed anything. And there’s no contact phone number on the door either. In addition, the whole kitchen and lobby area was closed. I had to drive to get coffee. 🥺 Only 3 minutes, but still…. It would better if the entire shower area was enclosed. It was hard not to get water on the floor. It was a little outdated, but if that’s what keeps the price down, I’m good with it.

I liked that the appliances and the furnishing had a retro look in keeping with my childhood. I would stay there again in a flash. The facility was wonderful and peaceful.

I accidentally burnt a hole in the carpeting with an overcooked bagel. I paid for the damage, but they were forced to take the room out of circulation. I hope they know that it was unintentional, and I am not by nature accident-prone at all.

This is an older motel that was refurbished while retaining its original charm. Our room (#9) was basic but spotless with a very comfortable bed. The continental breakfast had lots of variety and good coffee. For those seeking other options, there are several restaurants within a short drive. I'd also like to mention that due to an unexpected family situation at home, we were almost forced to cancel our stay. We were able to sort things out and keep our reservation but I'd be remiss if I didn't thank Rhonda (innkeeper) for her prompt responses and assistance with late check-in instructions. We'd recommend the Briarcliffe and will be back!

It was nice to have the code to unlock the door. The location was terrific. The small fridge was also good which contained ice right in the room.

I don’t really care for the idea of no staff on the property. Several people commented on a great breakfast and we did not understand that it was on a separate property.

Not enough hangers or hooks for clothing. Carpeting and pet-friendly don’t exactly go together. However, we did not detect odors from previous pet visitors.

This was our second time staying. We were traveling from Maine to the panhandle and this was first stop a week ago and it was our last stop on our way back to Maine. Loved the text with the code. The rooms were quaint and quiet. The decor suits the feel of the area. It is in a beautiful and quiet location. It is so beautiful!
