We loved our stay at Der Erlhof Restaurant & Landhotel. I travelled with my mum and 7 year old son. We only stayed for one night when travelling by interrail. But we all said we have to come back one day and stay longer. The room was clean, cosy and a lot of space. Very quiet and peaceful. Bed was comfortable. The room also had a big balcony. We had a reservation at the restaurant and we loved the food, delicious dessert. Breakfast was good with nice panorama view. Best of all, we went to the sea in the evening to swim. It was just magic, so beautiful surroundings. Memory for life. When travelling by train you have to take a bus to Thumersbach and then walk for about 20 minutes. But I don’t think It was a problem. You pay on the bus and then It’s easy to walk, sidewalk next to the road all way.

The room was very nice, and the breakfast was great. The hosts were very kind and helpful. The best part was the private swimming area at the lake. We highly recommend this hotel and would love to come back!

We didn't have a car and although the bus stop was just by the hotel, the last bus left at around 17:00 from Zell (during the summer) so make sure to check the bus schedule. Otherwise you could take the bus to Thumersbach Ortsmitte and walk for 25min which was just fine if you don't have heavy luggage.

A really great location on the quieter side of the lake opposite the town of Zell am See. A really family run vibe to this place with father, daughter and grandkids all helping out - all really friendly and helpful. Great food, and loads of places to sit and chill. The private lakeshore area was idyllic and a lovely place to swim. The room was really comfortable. I very much enjoyed my two nights here and would definitely return

We had a room looking out over the lake. It had everything we needed. It was good to have private access to the lake. The daughter of the family spoke perfect English and was very friendly. Also the breakfast assistant on the last morning also spoke very good English which helps so much. Good breakfast buffet, especially liked the Bircher Museli. Lovely food in the restaurant in the evening. Even accommodating our smaller appetite on one evening due to feeling unwell.

The weather, not their fault of course.

Loved our experience staying in the hotel. The location is easy to find. The room was comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious! The staff were kind and courteous and helped us with suggestions. They also agreed to keep our bags until we returned from our trip a few hours after checking out, which was incredibly kind of them. Our children had a lovely time here too.

Nothing in particular.

Everything was clean and looked nice and new. The staff opened a sauna only for me and for free. The Lady who served the breakfast was kind and always tried to serve well and on time. I gave her a tip. It was for a reasonable price and in a nice place.

Lack of communication: I asked about the price of the dinner, and they didn't answer me. So I didn't confirm I would want the dinner. However, they expected that.

Quiet environment, nice room with a large 120cm single bed, exceptionally clean, superb breakfast buffet, the four course hotel guest dinner in the restaurant was an unexpected fine dining experience and comes highly recommended.

The sauna wasn't available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (resting days for the family that runs the hotel).

Lovely views of the lake and comfortable room. I had a room in the ' very modern annexe' which had a door onto a little patio with table and chairs. Very good underground parking.

Very nice restaurant but expensive and nothing on the menu that was simple and cheap to eat. There was no where else to eat or drink within easy walking distance. Tiny narrow bed. WC was amusing with a mauve light underneath and the lid opened as you approached!

The room was spacious with a good view over the lake towards Schmitten which we really enjoyed going to the top of. The lake was about 50% obscured by trees but still a good view and very quiet / relaxed feel. It was very enjoyable after a couple of days of long distance driving. The styling is traditional wooden with a few creaks that didn't detract from the experience. Excellent view at breakfast from the Panorama Restaurance on the higher level. There was a good range of food for breakfast.

The trees blocking some of the view! No complaints with the food or quality but quite expensive so knocked back a point on value for money, but then not unexpected for Austria.

The location is amazing, the hotel is very clean and beautiful, the view on the lake is amazing. The personnel were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant and food in general were definitely the highlights alongside the private pear.

In one of our rooms, on the balcony, there was a hornet nest, but since they are protected under the law, nothing could be done about it
