Property is close to the lake, literally one minute away. The included summer card is really good value if you want to go on the boat trip, the Krimml waterfalls, and the Top of Salzburg among other attractions. The host, Sanne, was really kind, friendly, and generous. She makes excellent morning eggs and the breakfast is as good as it gets in Zell am See. The self check-in is really convenient and hassle-free.

The mattresses were not the most comfortable, really sink down. Same for the pillows.

The staff was brilliant. Love our breakfast host, she was so nice and friendly. She cooked omelets for all if you wanted. She made her own fruit drinks in the morning. From the middle of the day you could take beer, prosecco and wine (bottles) from the kitchen, just wrote your room number and what you have had on a paper and we left the hotel end of the stay, we paid for it, not expensive at all. 2-5 minutes walk to the bathing "beach". 10 minutes to nearest lift to the mountain. 2 min walk to all restaurates and bars.

No AC and the train went out side. Not many trains at all during night but if you are wake up easy, you will hear the train. We had to sleep with open window due to the weather and no AC. When we closed the window, you did not hear the train.

I do recommend this "Max" place to stay. I was very satisfied with the comfort in the single room as well as with the calm there. All information provided was reliable. Location is simply the best (railway station is 10 minutes walk and everything else you reach by 5 minutes walk ...public-beach, ferry, bus-station (Postplatz), Billa supermarket etc. ... I consider the local Zell am See summer-mobility-ticket as a fantastic tool which enables to enjoy wide range of attractions for free or with noticeable discount.

The location of Pension Max is excellent. It is right at the center of Zell am See and in walking distance from most attractions one might like to walk to and even the CityXpress Ski Lift. The pension itself is exceptional value for money, especially with breakfast included (as I booked it). It is very clean, both the common areas and the rooms that are cleaned daily by very polite and clean looking staff. The bathroom in my room was very modern (with shower, not bathtub) and sparkling clean every day. The breakfast / common area is well appointed with everything one could ask for breakfast and the kitchen staff (for the life of me, I cannot remember her name, so sorry, I really should since we had such nice talks together) is an excellent cook and good company. Point of notice is that the kitchen area has a beer tap, a fridge with soft drinks, wines and bottled beer and a plate of biscuits and fruit available 24/7 for anyone who gets the munchies, all one has to do is put his room number down on a piece of paper and write down what they took! It's very nice how we all came out in our pyjamas to have breakfast in a nice and polite atmosphere, I had a room on the ground-floor facing the lake (No7), the view was absolutely enchanting in the morning when the sun first hit the snow-capped peaks across the lake and although it was next to the kitchen area I never heard any noise thanks to the double doors that are virtually sound-proof! One final bonus: By mistake I booked 5 nights instead of 4 in a non-refundable reservation. I wrote to the property some 7 days earlier than my arrival and the proprietor (the superwoman, Katrin Van Looveren) answered me promptly that she would refund me if she managed to get a last minute booking for my extra day. She did and she refunded me that extra day although she was under no obligation to do it, so extra points for being an honorable and gracious host! I will certainly be visiting again.

For my liking, the beds are a bit too soft (but still comfortable).

Breakfast. Excellent and great omelettes . Both the two ladies in charge, Sanne and Katrin were very helpful and assisted with the summer card. Located near railway line but you can adjust for that. Close to main twon. Opposite park/pool and lake for a swim etc. We would definitely recommend and go back again. Great Hosts in an outstanding area for the whole family with many activites in Summer or Winter

Nothings perfect but this is extremely close overall.

Very friendly and attentive team at the hotel, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

Little bit of noise in room as we had ground floor room by the front door and breakfast area but that was a small thing compared to overall stay being excellent.

The best thing is definately the hosts. They were welcoming, helpful and easygoing. Edpecislly the athmosphere at the egg-buffet and brakfast was very cheerful. The location is good: a little outside the most hectic center, but still only some 7 minutes walking to the nearest gondola. We could buy the skipasses right at the reception, which was a very big plus considering the normal hassle in the first skiing morning.

The balcony or backyard could have been cozier in the first floor apartment, but we wouldn’t spent time there anyway. It’s worth noticing the rather calm railway line goes just in few meters away. It wasn’t a oroblem for us, but it might wake up a sensitive sleeper.

Location is very central, but quite. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good and tasty. Overall a good place for a couple of days.

The railway is near the building, but windows have good sound isolation. It didn't bother us.

It is located at the lake, it has beautiful view if you get a room with view. Breakfast is amazing, do not go anywhere, best breakfast in town. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Special thanks for the Hungarian front desk person!

If you get the room with view, be aware of the trains which go basically under the balcony. In the summer you better to close the windows, because trains can be very loud. We were also told to pay with cash for breakfast, so make sure you have cash. Anyway you will need cash in Austria, just a tip.

The lady who works in the reception was very kind, in the morning she was in the kitchen to prepare breakfast for quests and made eggs for everybody in different ways , it was so lovely and home feeling, breakfast was wonderfull by the way.

Trains going just 10 steps from the hotel and makes a lot of noise, you can be in the room only with close windows.
