Location, easy to find and just a few minutes walk from centre of Arromanches and the sea. Private, off road parking. A friendly greeting from the owner Damien who explained the facilities then showed us our room. The room itself was on the first floor. It was spacious, clean, fully functional with a most comfortable bed. There is good storage space, including a built in safe. It has a tea & coffee hospitality tray and it has a fridge. A good sized en-suite shower room with powerful shower. The full continental breakfast was quite amazing, such a selection. We enjoyed every bit of it. Damien was there every morning to ensure nothing ran out. Parking and breakfasts were an additional cost but well worth it. Overall we highly recommend Le Hôtel l’idéal and our host Damien.

This hotel was ideal for us, family 4 - 2 adults 13 year old and 9 year old. The hotel was great, location is amazing 5 mins walk from the beach and centre. 1 min to a local shop. The room had a mini fridge which with 2 children and a heat wave it was amazing. No air con but large fan that worked good for us. The staff were great, breakfast was a little disappointing but it we only added it for the first day so grabbed a pastry from the local bakery and ate on the beach. The room was big for four people. The location was great for exploring the local ww2 sights. We had a car my husband went off to explained and I felt more than safe with the children on the beach and getting food and drink for them. We would definitely stay here again.

The parking was tight but that’s just us first time driving in France with a big hire car. Would do breakfast again. Oh and a brush for a sandy floor would be great

Staff was helpful. Rooms were modern and clean, beds were comfortable and made up each day. Breakfast was very good, but priced a little higher than we had experienced elsewhere on our trip. Hotel was only a couple of hundred meters from the main street of Arromanches-les-bains, its restaurants, museum, and Gold Beach. Staff was very helpful and friendly. This was our third visit to Arromanches-les-bains but our first stay in the Mountbatten. We would definitely stay there again.

Our rooms were on the first floor (second level) which can only be reached by a relatively steep external staircase. Carting our suitcases up and down that staircase was not an easy task.

Excellent experience all the way around. This was one of our last stops on a 14 day D-Day focused trip. We rented four rooms. All of the rooms were clean, comfortable, and exceeded our expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful in getting us set up after a long day of touring. The location is FANTASTIC, right in the heart of town, within easy walking distance of dining, museums, and the beach. Breakfast was delicious and parking on site was a lifesaver. I would certainly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting GOLD Beach and the surrounding environs.

Really liked staying here, even though we checked in late due to the traffic at Caen. Damien the host met us and was very welcoming. The bed was huge and very comfortable, the bathroom and room in general a very good size. I cannot say I disliked this property but just my observation, I would have liked a light in the little area where the shelves for clothes are, this would have made it lighter, especially when using the safe. Also would have liked a few more English speaking channels even if it was just the news. Maybe investing in sky or something similar.

Every room has its own front door so travelling with a dog means this is an ideal hotel. Rooms are spacious for 2 and equipped with all the usual things you would expect with great bedtime chocolate and decent coffee. We also had a deluxe room which had enough room for a comfortable sitting area where we could sit for a drink. The chap on the desk was very welcoming and doubled up as breakfast host in the lovely little dinning area where they offer a good range of quality breakfast items. Having had a few questionable small hotels in the past it's great to find a clean well run non chain hotel for a good night's sleep.

There is no on site bar but the main street is only a hundred yards away with restaurants and bars.

The location was great, the room was spacious and very comfortable, the man in reception was lovely. My girls loved it and said the beds were the most comfortable beds they ever slept on! I would stay there again.

Reception doesn’t open until 4pm, even if you arrive before then it’s locked! On booking.com it says there is parking available, this is incorrect information, you cannot book parking on booking.com and need to park at the public car park costing extra. If you book direct with the hotel you can book parking. Being pedantic, the door sticks on the way into the room and there was a car transporter parked outside the room door.

Ideal location, easy walking into town for restaurants, bars and beach. Clean and comfortable room. Arrived very early but we were given a parking space. Returned an hour before room available to find note on car telling us which room we were in and were able to access even though reception was closed. On checkout we had missed breakfast but were offered the option to choose from what remained available before they cleared - there was plenty left.

Nice sized room, parking available although there is a charge…handy to walk down into Arromanches…very helpful gentleman on Reception, he carried our rather heavy case up the stairs for us.

Stayed for 4 nights, but bed only made once and bins emptied once…awful mat on the floor which kept curling up at the edges so a trip hazard,,,would have been a nice touch to have a couple of thick mats on each side of the bed.

Neat tidy fresh rooms. The owner Damian was tremendously helpful. Spoke good English and was just generally helpful throughout our stay.

Hard to say. Some parking spaces a wee bit to reverse a large car into if you were late back but that's nothing to do with the owners really as they have made best use of the available space.
