We had the absolute BEST stay at this hotel! We were welcomed with a bottle of brut and a sweet treat on our room. The staff was very sweet and helped us with our luggage. The whole atmosphere of the accommodation is chill, relaxed and hip, while still maintaining a sense of luxury. The food and drinks are REALLY good and the locals that come there are very social people. They all gave us tips for the best places and things to do in the area. When we went on an early morning hike to Robberg before the kitchen opened for breakfast, the manager made sure we had a breakfast to go for the next morning, which was absolutely terrific! It was delicious and so sweet she made the extra effort. We also used the 24-hour laundry service, and the clothing came back freshly ironed and smelling lovely (just like the entire hotel does). Honestly, couldn’t have wished for anything more, it was the perfect stay and the location is super central if you’re looking to explore both Tsitsikamma, Robberg and Knysna. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! And bonus tip: you must try their brownies, they’re literally the best I’ve ever had!

We had a wonderful stay at Barrington's. It is a beautiful hotel and we really enjoyed the complementary breakfast. Our room was beautiful and comfortable but a bit on the small side. Luckily there are bigger rooms to book if you need a bit more space. Hotel staff members were wonderful and they also made sure we always had a table at the restaurant if we wanted one. My husband also really enjoyed the complementary Barrington's beer tasting.

Parking at the hotel is very limited. One night a restaurant guest stopped in the hotel parking space and we had to stop our vehicle on the outside. This is not the hotel's fault, but maybe just something to look into.

It’s a beautiful property. The rooms are modern and have air conditioning. All the staff was very friendly. Breakfast and dinner was excellent! We had some laundry done which was great!

The bathroom for our room type didn’t have a door. Even though there was a glass door for the toilet, it was open at the top. It’s alright if you travel with your significant other but less ideal if traveling with a friend and you want some privacy when showering or using the toilet. There was also construction going on right below our balcony when we stayed there. Even though we were assured at check in that it won’t be very loud, it was still too loud to actually use it during the day.

The design of the building is fantastic and very cleverly built. The bar, the big windows into the brewery, the bakery- the space is so nice. The rooms are really nice and clean, the food is top notch and the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Great location as well with a five minute drive to both city centre and the beach. Would definitely stay again.

Not sure if it’s the same in every room but our bathroom was essentially in the bedroom with a half frosted glass wall. Might be better if the glass wall went from floor to ceiling to offer some privacy. BUT, I would not say this affected our stay much.

We visited for a long weekend in May and our stay was nothing short of exceptional! We were fortunate enough to have a stunning, sunny modern room with a lovely mountain view. The breakfasts were phenomenal, offering a very large, delicious and varied selection and the place has an all-round amazing vibe, exuding warmth and charm that made us feel instantly at home. One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary beer tasting. Additionally, we loved exploring the vegetable garden, which showcased the accommodation’s commitment to sustainability and fresh produce. The location was perfect, providing easy access to nearby attractions while still offering a serene and peaceful retreat. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable getaway.

Lovely friendly team, great food, limited areas to ‘hang out’ away from public restaurant and need a car as like everywhere not safe to walk around at night. The weather was great while we were there but there are no areas to sit outside other than with general public. It was fabulously clean & everyone super friendly

A private area for residents. Many reviews mention the glass bathroom doors but these are 2/3rds frosted & i’m 6 foot tall & didn’t feel my modesty compromised!

Cool place to stay over en route. Stylish and comfortable. Beer tasting is a nice touch (your first is a welcome gift) and the food is nice. Breakfast scrummy and the wine / food / gift shop is fab. You may need a car if you want to go into Plett (about a 5 min drive).

No lift so we had to carry cases up and down the stairs. This is a personal thing for me but the toilet and shower are divided from the bedroom by a glass door - not enough privacy. And the toilet / toilet roll get wet as you shower. Realise this isn’t a problem for most people!

On arrival we were surprised and delighted it doubled as a brewery. Great designed public area and bedrooms. Offered a free beer tasting! The food at the hotel was great. Staff were all great. Herb and vegetable garden were great to walk through on arrival

Our room was quite small, although beautifully presented. The sister restaurant Fat Fish which was highly recommended and a taxi ride away! did not live up to expectations. The location was not so convenient for any other facilities

Breakfast which was included in the price was awesome. The location was perfect as we were meeting friends to watch the rugby and to have dinner.

The TV in room S5 is skew, it should be straightened as everything else has been meticulously done. There was no token for the free beer sampling (not that we needed it, but for others, they would not be aware of this). When the game of rugby finished they immediately put the sound off and put music on. It would be great to still listen to the interviews. And the sound quality is not that great either.

Staff was incredible friendly and helpful. Rooms are super clean. Food and drinks were delicious and the beer tasting was too. The location was also perfect, between the town and Robberg hiking trail. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Plett.

The WiFi connection in the room was fairly weak and we did laundry in the hotel but unfortunately 2 of our white items came back with yellow stains on them. Finally, we stayed there 3 nights and each night we had to leave our room around 11 in order to re-park our car in the designated and gated area for hotel guests, as each night when we came back from dinner around 9/10pm, restaurant guests were using the gated parking for hotel guests. The hotel had given us a remote for the gate to this parking area but the gate never got used. This is unfortunate for the hotel guests.
