We absolutely loved our stay at the Retreat. The villas are very private, located down a pretty steep hill side in lush, tropical rain forest. Our villa was large, with a carport, living area with a double spa bath, well equipped kitchen are and massive bed. The bathroom had a double shower! The views from the balcony were spectacular. Breakfast was to be found in the fridge - lovely local yogurt, bread, milk, orange juice, fruit, butter and jams and cornflakes. Plenty for a day or two but do message the site manager if you need a top up. Our only criticism would be that the bath is a little worn, although fully functional. Overall, highly recommended.

Breakfast was good, especially the yogurt and juice. Impeccable views. Bbq was great. The spa in front of the tv was amazing..

Had to ask if breakfast was provided the second day and nothing provided for morning of departure. (Package included breakfast) Bed was ok in main bedroom and pillows to hard. 2nd room a little dingy and bed was very uncomfortable. Cleanliness not 💯 but just ok . Floor felt dirty and cushions smelled.

My stay at Maleny Retreat was truly exceptional. The spa bath was a luxurious treat, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The fireplace added a cozy ambiance, ideal for chilly evenings. The views were absolutely stunning, offering a peaceful and picturesque backdrop. The location was convenient yet secluded, allowing for easy access to local attractions. Overall, Maleny Retreat provided a perfect blend of comfort, luxury, and natural beauty. I look forward to returning for another relaxing getaway.

However, one area for improvement is cleanliness. While the retreat was generally well-maintained, I noticed some areas that could benefit from more thorough attention.

That there were no common walls to be shared with noisy neighbours. The spaciousness inside and outside the property. The convenience of being located mid-way between Montville & Maleny. When I told people I was going to Maleny, many said “you must go to The Edge restaurant”, but it turns out we had our own private “edge” at Maleny Tropical Retreat. The view was breathtaking.

The weather for the first few days.

View was amazing, breakfast was good, the units/cabins were spacious and very clean. The dishwasher worked well and all other appliances worked. The communal BBQ was very clean and well maintained.

According to the site there should have been a BBQ at the villa, when we enquired about it we were told that they think the previous visitors must have stolen it, but another couple came to the communal BBQ and told us they were told the same. So I don't think they have BBQ's at each Villa. The bed in our Villa was a bit too soft, we prefer firm mattresses. As we booked three units and informed the owner that we will be using the Villa as our get together, we did not have enough cutlery and crockery for the family of 5 (only 3 of each). There were also not enough chairs for us to sit outside and socialise.

The fantastic view, very relaxing. Rain and cloud for a couple of days and morning fogs made it seem very primordial. The breakfast was simple but good, the local yogurt was the best I've ever had.

No laundry so extended stay could be tough as we like to wash things before going home. The spa is a nice touch but honestly would have preferred a lounge in front of the TV.

We had the Candi Dasa Villa booked which was amazing. Besides the bathroom it is basically one big room with a kitchenette and a double spa bath (which was a bit hard to get out of) right at the side of a comfy bed. There was a wood fire in the cabin that we didn't use. The location was perfect for getting to all the places for hiking, chocolate and cheese in a few minutes by car.

If we wanted to complain about something then it would be the, a bit basic, breakfast but that wasn't an issue because we supplemented it with what we brought.

The view was beautiful. Loved listening to Mother Nature. The peace was only punctuated with birds and Mr Cow. Gorgeous. Very authentic atmosphere cleverly created by amazing efforts of passion by the owners.

We found the doona very heavy. Needed a blanket to put on the bed as a choice. We were able to swap to the thinner pillows which were perfect. Otherwise nothing else needed changing.

Lovely views over the valley and convenient location for exploring many of the sub tropical walks in the region. Fabulous deal of a courtesy bus to the local Montville Bar and Grill which has a lovely English pub atmosphere and good food.

It was all pretty good but a little extra lighting would be good.

The location is absolutely amazing, very close to Meleny and Montville by car, but feels like you are remote and within nature with the best views of the green all around. We only stayed one night but it was the perfect recoup we needed after a long roadtrip and would definitely stay again. The breakfast included was a lovely touch and made the stay even more relaxing.
