We loved the location! It was walking distance to so many things. The hotel was very beautiful, comfortable and quiet in the hallways. Staff at the front desk was friendly as well as the valet. We loved our room and the turndown service as well as the coffee, fruit and pastry every morning.
The pool was so pretty and we wanted to hang out there one day, but it was loud and not a relaxing settng, more of a party vibe, so that was disappointing. When we checked in the staff took a deposit for incidentals only slightly smaller than the entire bill for our stay. This was a bit unexpected and seemwd excessive. Some aspects of the hotel seemed a bit stuffy, but the location, overall was the best part.

Pretty place. High standing with some small attentions. Room is large and very clean. Very well placed.
Parking is complex there and the price announced is expensive. You can manage in the street if needed playing with the hours... Breakfast was not clear enough on Booking site.It is said including that is true as you are things available on each floor but too it means eating on your bedroom and don't think of a buffet or plate with salted things. Just to be clarified

All the staff from valet, desk, concierge and housekeeping were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Hotel and our room was beautiful, with a view over the City Market. Had housekeeping and turn down service everyday. Enjoyed the coffee offered on the floor with pastries and fruit in the morning and cookies in the afternoon.
While the bed was plush and comfortable, my husband and I both thought the pillows were too soft. Had a hard time sleeping because of having to reposition the pillow several times during the night. Wished there was a refrigerator in the room. Charleston was scorching every day, and it would have been nice to have the ability to have cold drinks and snacks, such as yogurt in our room. We had warm bottles of water provided and had use of ice on the floor, but it would have been nice to have other options. This Item alone would have us change our hotel choice next time we're in the area.

The location is unbeatable and the beds were ultra comfortable—we had the best sleep during our multi-city trip around the South! The cookies provided during turndown were absolutely delicious and a highlight to the end of the day. Housekeeping staff were very friendly and warm!
There was no help with our luggage during check-in. There was one employee standing inside the hotel (car valet) and he stood there and watched my child and I struggle with our heavy luggage and opening the door. This is not acceptable service for a luxury hotel. Also this hotel caters more to the older crowd.

My wife and I visited Charleston for the first time in April. We absolutely loved it - fantastic food, unbelievable exercise scene and just a beautiful place. The Market Pavilion Hotel is perfectly located to walk everywhere in Charleston - close to the daily market - accessible to restaurants across the road and shopping is only a 5 mins walk away. There is a cute gym in the hotel, not very big but had everything I needed. Every day we found fresh pastries, fruit and coffee near the elevator which was a nice touch. We spent quite a bit of time at the rooftop pool which is 5 Stars!
The rooms were a bit small especially when paying quite high to stay in Charleston.

Staff were friendly, restaurant food was cooked excellent, Room was clean and comfortable, conveniently located for walking. Valet workers helped nicely.
Noisy when stuff set up breakfast outside our room, no microwave to heat leftovers from hotel restaurant, Rooftop bar closed at 900 so we weren't allowed up there to even see it. I found out at check-out that I was charged $37 for parking valet, which seemed unfair since there was no other option for free parking. Bartender at bar was slow and distracted while we sat there to eat and drink. Only 1 bartender continuously made drinks for the whole restaurant. She needed help.

The property is terrific and top-notch. The rooms are clean and hotel Staff is always great.
I was having supper at the bar, and in the middle of my dining experience, I was asked to move my seat, for another person. They said he was a VIP, I said I’m not leaving, and it became a bit of a tussle and harassment, the manager provoked the whole incident, and in my 40 years of going to bars and restaurants, I’ve never been asked to leave the bar for a VIP. For this, I gave the lower rating.

The room was large and very well appointed, with comfortable seating, a huge bed, and a nice desk for working. I liked the decor, which gave a sense of heritage to the hotel. The bathroom was clean and well-equipped, and the shower was hot and powerful - there was an abundance of towels! I enjoyed the self-service breakfast each morning, and appreciated hot, fresh coffee being available all morning. The hotel has an excellent location, close to the market and a short walk to anywhere in the historical district. During my stay I walked everywhere and only needed to take alternative transport when travelling to and from the airport. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and I felt well taken care of throughout my stay - the turn down service was very nice.
Nothing, the hotel was lovely.

It was so perfect. Great location, we walked everywhere. Room was so nice and had everything we needed. Some other reviews complained about no fridge but we had one. Turn down service each night was great. Given bottles of water twice a day. Pastries, tea, coffee, juice and fruit were set out in the hallway every morning and that was so nice. The receptionist, Theresan, was excellent. She was so kind and accommodating and gave wonderful recommendations. The pool and rooftop bar were great too!!
Nothing!

Great location. Upscale restaurant in lobby. The coffee/tea service and fruits/cookies on every floor was a phenomenal amenity. Never seen it before, on every floor! Makes it a stand out. The pool is very nice with an amazing view. Nice turn down service. Bed incredibly comfortable, bathroom had bathtub and the hotel had top quality feeling.
The staff could have been better. First room literally had a view of the parking garage. Worst view I’ve ever had in a hotel. When asked when checking in she said I had a nice view. When I called front desk asking if I could move, the manager wasn’t that accommodating but then finally moved me to another room which had a great view of the market. That was a phenomenal view! I didn’t stay out late but thought it was kinda odd you had to call to be let in after hours.
