The hotel staff are approachable and friendly. I stayed there for 2 weeks and requested room service. They complied without any questions asked. The staff went the extra mile in changing towels and restocking toiletries. I would come back again to book a hotel stay. The location is a walking distance to Komtar and City Square. If you take a taxi to arrive at the hotel, it would cost less than 2-8RM, depending on the time of day.

Not much to complain about.

The room was very nice, clean and large. It had everything you need (water, kettle, coffee, cups, shower gel/shampoo, towels). The bathroom was a bit small, but that wasn't a problem. The bed was also super comfortable and big. What I liked best was the staff. The ladies were so nice and friendly. They were very helpful, patient and we had nice small talk.

There were problems with the internet, why I had to change rooms three times (I urgently need internet to work). But the problem was solved by the lovely ladies.

The room we stayed in is clean and comfortable to sleep, it has basic stuff like bath soap, shampoo, toothbrush kit, coffee and bottled water that they top-up every day. They also have water dispenser to get free water if you have water bottle. Also it’s so walkable going to City square mall, Komtar, and CIQ as long as it’s not raining. There are chicken chop food, and nasi lemak food stall nearby (just below the hotel) that has good ratings via Grab food delivery. Lastly, the staffs of the hotel are all nice.

At night time especially from Thursday to Saturday night there’s a nearby bar that has patrons who will go all the way in-front of the hotel to smoke and chit chat and they can be heard from the inside of the room. Also, some of the grab drivers may not be familiar with the hotel location because it’s a new establishment, I think they just opened last year.

The room and beds were comfy, we slept through the night. Decent soundproofing too. Water refilling stations are available at the lobby. If you get hungry late at night, there's also snacks and drinks at the reception desk to buy. The receptionist lady during check in was friendly and hilarious, she made us laugh so much. Overall, very well worth the price I paid. If i am ever going back to Johor, I'd definitely consider this place again.

There's a bit of water damage on the walls. The bathroom door is also a bit damaged, a bit hard to open and close as it gets stuck at the bottom. We forgot to tell the receptionist guy at check out as we had to leave early morning and our brains weren't working yet. Wall sockets are way too far from the beds (we're used to charging our phones while lying in bed 😂, so it's a bit inconvenient for us, not a complaint, just to note)

The hotel actually was above my expectations. I was thinking that this hotel just another budget hotel but turns out it was really comfy and clean i would say. There was a Thai Malay dish restaurant nearby also where you can have your dinner as well and the food was reallyyy good! Overall, this hotel is a nice place for solo or family travellers to check in.

Just becareful at night because there was a pub or night club and the surroundings and can unwanted things to happen. Also some of the area was little bit quite and dark so all you need to do is make sure that when you out at night you need go in paired dont go alone.

Nice hotel room with standard amenities (coffee, towels, water, kettle), comfy bed, good shower, helpful staff, cold water refill station.

a/c was temperamental, no chair or table in the room for luggage/belongings, the hallway and lift smelled really badly of cigarette smoke (people smoking in stairwell we think). There were some restaurants around the property but you had to walk at least 25 mins to the fun area with nice things to do/see.

The room was ok, comfortable for a short stay but they dont provide mirror (except the one in the toilet) so a bit hassle for me as a woman to get do my makeup hehe. The location is very near to CIQ, only around 5 min so if youre going to SG this is very convenient. There are few halal restaurant in the same shoplot as this hotel too.

Having travelled globally, experienced good n bad hotels, service apartment AB&B. At price paid, only anticipated decent clean room. Surprisingly, room spacious, very superb cleaned room flooring, bathroom, beddings n blankets. AC was good. However, dislike yellow lights. The bi-fold door can b improved. Staff super friendly , warm n easy to communicate. Will not hesitate to refer to anyone. All the best n keep up the good job Hotel Shobi 👏🙏

Friendly reception, good value room for a one night stay

The area or location was not the best... But luckily Grab got us to the nearby bus station for only a few dollars. Shower water goes everywhere!

Excellent room, spacious with good wifi at the hotel. Good bathroom, towels including and tv which was a nice bonus
