The hotel was really well kept, lovely grounds. Great pool and jacuzzi with steam and sauna rooms. Really nice room (Room 6), huge bed, lovely view from the window to a side garden (note that the neighboring rooms window sits just opposite). A nice bathtub, good selection of TV channels. The spa offer towels and bathrobes. Loads of parking for your car. Also recommend a fairly close (by car) indian resturant that we stumbled on called Lounge India. We also didn't opt for it but you can get breakfast bought to the room in the mornings. The room service menu was quite good as well. The hotels lounge bar was also really nice and welcoming too.

Very noisy in the morning with slamming doors and people talking really loudly in the corridor! Quite frustrating when you've just woken up. On arrival in the early afternoon to the pool there was no loungers free, many were taken with towels but absent with people so that was alittle annoying but after 9mins or so people started to leave so two eventually freed up.

Location and staff were great - especially the cleaners down in the spa as we went down very late. They were so accommodating as we weren't told the robes/towels had to be collected before 7.30pm so they went to the locked cupboard and got some for us. Pool is a great size, good gym considering it is a hotel gym.

Whilst the room was very clean, the bed did look like it had been thrown together as opposed to made (I'm not a fussy person but pillows were haphazard and lampshades were really wonky!). We chose to eat elsewhere due to the cost of the restaurant - seemed very excessive for a Monday night stay.

Greenwoods is a lovely building in a lovely location. The spa is very calm and the gym facilities looked pretty good (I didn't use them as I was too busy chilling)! My room was nice, a good size and clean. I used the restaurant in the evening which was really nice! The staff were very welcoming.

My room was too hot throughout my stay! I didn't feel they took advantage of the beautiful outside space - the spa only had access to a tiny concrete courtyard and the cafe didn't seem to have outside seating. My main disappointment was that I like to enjoy a hot drink while reading my book in a spa. At Greenwoods the cafe is across the hotel from the spa and there didn't seem to be a way to make having a hot drink in the spa feasible.

From the moment we arrived the lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. We went to our room which had amazing decor but the cleanliness of the room and bathroom where outstanding. the room was spacious and just the right tempreture with no adjustments. The bed wash was super comfortable and felt very fresh. The breakfast was super fresh and hot so many hotels have over cooked breakfast but not Greenwoods. What a place i would recommend to anyone.

I cant find any faults at all i dont think the staff or facilities could have been any better fist class Greenwoods keep it up

Waitress service helpful at breakfast. Cooked breakfast welcome after a long party the day before! Staff at the bar delivered drinks on the terrace in the morning. Reception staff very good for enquiries and check-in. Easy to park. Gardens pleasant, for a brief stroll. Unfortunately, we did not have time to try the pool and spa facilities.

Exceptional hotel in a lovely area. The Greenwoods hotel is an excellent place to stay, it has ample parking and great views of the countryside - rooms are spacious - the food and service are fantastic and the spa facilities and swimming pool are a great place to relax - I would thoroughly recommend a stay here I felt very looked after from arrival to departure.

All good and would definitely stay again when visiting Essex

The breakfast was really nice. I am gluten free and they brought me out gluten free toast with poached eggs and were very clear on what I could have. The fresh fruit was really lovely. I liked being able to use the gym and swimming pool in the evening and that it was open from 6 until 10 and I just needed to swipe in and out with my room card.

From the reception at check in, through the stay and even at checkout it was an incredibly relaxed stay, with friendly and helpful staff. Food was outstanding, and the leisure facilities excellent - particularly liked the size of the pool.

I ate in the main restaurant every night because the selection on the Lounge Bar menu could have been a bit greater. As someone who is trying to lose a bit of weight, it would have helped to have some wider options that were not chips and burgers

Room was lovely, bed was very comfy. Room had a very nice view of the grounds. Melanie in the spa was absolutely amazing and I had such a nice treatment done by her.

Overall I didn’t find it to be that clean, some dirt in the pool and grime on the surrounding floor areas. Cleanliness could definitely do with some improvement& you are unable to get through on the phone so have to email your spa treatments to be able to get booked in. Food was good but quite expensive for what it is, a few local pubs that have nice food nearby however.

Staff were helpful and friendly. The gym is fantastic. The spa was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable with a great array of amenities. The building and grounds were beautiful.

The only thing I can say is I let them know in advance we were attending for our anniversary and we didn’t get a note or anything to acknowledge this. Had that of been acknowledged I would’ve rated 10/10.
