The hotel in itself is lovely, the staff were great too. The room was fantastic. Good area with lots of coffee shops, parks and quirky buildings. I didn't realise that this is a training hotel, apparently it's very well-known, and it's evident by the lovely and friendly staff - but it does mean it doesn't have the same facilities as standard hotels. For this reason, I would probably not stay again.

We missed breakfast 2 mornings because the timings on their internal app/website was wrong. The bar is only open thurs-sat i believe. No proper common area to sit in/work No room-service No gym Breakfast is good, but quite limited for the price it costs. The main dish is DYI bagel station, as well as some hot food and fruit. Doesn't include latte/iced coffee, which I think for a hotel like this and this price-point, it should be included - it's such as a small cost to the restaurant that it feels silly not to include it especially as they weren't even that busy on probably one of their busiest weekends of the year. The restaurant is well rated, but the minimal vegetarian options meant that I didn't eat there.

The room was clean with good amenities. The concrete walls make the room quiet, although voices in the halls may be heard in the rooms and the balconies are nice but lack privacy due to the open partitions between balconies. Breakfast is very good. The staff bring a higher level of excellence to this accommodation: they are attentive, polite and professional. Certain staff members in particular take extra steps and go the extra mile. I was particularly impressed by hospitality school student Alexandre V at the front desk, and James and Lea in the restaurant. Their impeccable attention to detail, imperturbability, skillful service, and willingness to help ensured that our experience was a very pleasant one. I will choose this location again when I make the same trip again, either for business or pleasure.

The second bed in a standard queen room was a fold-out so the room was cramped, however both beds are very comfortable. The flooring and carpet were rather shabby for the price of the hotel. However, the attention to cleanliness by the staff made this almost a non-issue.

Lovely Hotel. Here's few highlights - What I loved: - It's an Institute that trains students in tourism and hospitality management, right within the hotel. I'm all for supporting education. And you might think that on-the-job training would produce substandard service...well, you would be wrong. The service was exceptional. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. - The balcony (5 Star view!) It doesn't matter which side you're facing, the view is incredible. The best part, all the balconies are on the 7th & 8th floor, and I believe every room has a balcony. Sipping my morning tea as I gazed upon the sun rising over Montreal...priceless! - The room was clean and pleasant (with a nice couch and a murphy bed in the wall). - Free Nespresso w/ quaint cups and glassware for beverages later in the day. - Metro station on-site! Super easy to use and a short ride to Gare Centrale.

Things that need improvement (albeit, not much): - The restaurant bathrooms are fit for a gas station in rural Iowa (where? ...exactly). Beautiful restaurant, lobby, bar, but these bathrooms...it's time guys. The 60s are calling, they want their bathrooms back. - Breakfast (this is me being picky): Pretty good spread - the smoked salmon was a nice touch - but the eggs need a little more time on the skillet. I like my steak medium rare, not my scrambled eggs. Bonus points for cutting the bagels all the way through, and for having a toaster that works!

The hotel is run by a hospitality school. The staff are generally students who are aiming to learn and be helpful. The breakfast was good and in the main restaurant. The hotel is next door to a subway stop. Excellent bistro a block away (Cafe Cherrier)

The neighborhood looks rundown and was an unhappy surprise at first. The breakfast doesn't have self serve coffee or tea, so you have to wait for the busy waiter to bring it. Tea was apparently an unusual request and took longer to get.

Such a pleasant surprise this hotel! Would definitely stay here again. Loved the staff, cleanliness, modern room, lovely shower, location, small things such as water in the fridge every day

The breakfast is not my style. Nothing wrong with it; food was delicious, dishes beautiful and the staff very friendly, but extensive nordic-style buffet breakfasts are my favorite. Choosing breakfast from a menu is not my thing and surprise amuse-bouche dishes can be problematic in the morning. The buffet breakfast on the weekend was a bit limited.

We had a wonderful view of the surrounds from the eighth floor, with balcony, that made things never boring. The room was warm, modern and bright, and the Murphy bed allowed us to have a living room allowing us to comfortably watch TV. Breakfast (free) was superb, best ever. Subway access within a few steps gave us access to the underground city, which was amazing while a blizzard howled above, with no effect to us. A half-hour walk got us to Old Montreal and sights there. The lobby was large and modern, but still charming, with pleasant and helpful staff always available. Parking was reasonable. A very nice experience, and you don't need to speak French at all, but putting in some effort doesn't hurt.

The hot water in the shower can fluctuate to scalding hot, beware. One can adjust to it, so it was no deal breaker for us. Finding a place to park while checking in and getting your parking pass can be challenging, especially in a snow covered city on the weekend. The restaurant there requires reservations way ahead of time, if it's even open, excluding breakfast of course. There's plenty of great food options around, otherwise.

The hotel staff were super friendly. My husband had allergies and asked for the room to be vacuumed and get the sheets changed. Eva was amazing and got everything done for us. We came back and got a card from her and the smells were gone. Glad this is a place to train students. The breakfast was decent - nothing special. And they were very prompt in closing the plane, which was disappointing. Other than that, we would stay there again.

Dusty smells and not very accommodating to guests who are 10 mins late for breakfast (we got turned away).

The hotel location and proximity are outstanding. The hospitality was excellent, the rooms were tidy, the bed very comfortable, and breakfast exceeded expectations. We would definitely recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again ourselves.

The building HVAC system was quite loud, even when the in-room system wasn't in use. This made it difficult to enjoy our balcony and it would have been tough to sleep had we not packed earplugs. Our bathroom didn't have a fully enclosed shower and that made it a little awkward trying to keep water from escaping. Our room didn't have a full length mirror and adding one would be a nice enhancement.

The location couldn't be better. Walk to dozens of nearby restaurants and next door to the Sherbrooke orange line metro. Taxis right in front or Uber can pick you up. Rooms had great counter space, storage, bar area with Nespresso and convenient pull out refrigerator drawer. Rain shower head had great pressure and got hot quickly on 7th floor. Bed comfy. Breakfast exceeded expectations including the morning staff.

Not much to complain about but if pressed, the bathroom lighting was too dark. Also there should ideally be a charging outlet on both sides of the bed or counter behind it. The staff are students in training so not necessarily as knowledgeable or responsive about all requests or inquiries but totally understandable as they are learning their profession and there's always room for improvement in any hotel organization.

The location is right beside a metro station and across from a park. The hotel is a school for future hotel managers.

The WiFi did not work my entire 4 night stay. This was definitely a downside since we now use our phones for everything and visiting from outside of Canada, I didn’t want I use up the data I had available. If you stay here you need to email or call and ask them if they have WiFi AND if the WiFi is actually working. Not having reliable WiFi for a hotel in a major city is definitely a drawback.
