Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a large room with a very comfortable bed. The hotel had everything we needed with a bar, restaurant and lovely outside courtyard. We were visiting family and ate in the restaurant on the grill night. The food was excellent. The cooked breakfast had lots of choice and very good quality.

We loved our stay at the Highworth. The bath was quite deep and if you're small it can be tricky climbing out as there wasn't a separate shower. Perhaps a bath mat may make this safer. Some fruit and yoghurt could be added to the already excellent breakfast.

We like olde world building. Location.

Our room was like a sauna even with window open and the supplied fan running all night. I asked a member of staff if it would be possible to park my motorcycle in the beer garden after closing time and she said that she would ask her boss….i sat in the bar and restaurant area till closing time and she never came to answer my question. Not good enough. Price compared to local accommodation providers.

We had a dinner at the hotel. The food was delicious and many kinds of variety. My daughter (12 years old) choosed a kids menu with Katsu Chicken, which was really great. Family room was spacious enough to stay with three people + one dog.

As we stayed during Easter holidays, the hotel has music party night. So it was a bit noisy until 10pm. We were informed that a party was to be held. However, the room we stayed was close to the party place, so it was a bit noisy.

Location suited our needs for a short stay. On-site parking was handy, although you had better check the width of your vehicle against the tight access, we squeezed in but some might not. The hotel was busy with a function when we arrived, but nevertheless staff were friendly and helpful, and accommodated a last-minute dinner reservation. Service at dinner was excellent, as was the food and wine. Breakfast was very good, freshly cooked, tasty and plentiful, and again good service and staff very helpful.

No lift, so pack light. The huge number of laundry bags left piled up in a stairwell was an unwelcome sight near our room.

It was beautifully decorated in keeping with the era of the building .. Breakfast was delicious and the staff very accommodating and friendly. I couldn’t enter their car park though as it was too narrow for my 4x4 so had a little scrape!

No air-con as the rooms were part of the original old building.. but fans provided.

Our room was for 3 adults and the dog, Lovely big room, with lots of space, clean, tidy and comfortable, would definatly stay here again. We had dinner in the Orangery with out dog in the evening, the food was amazing and the staff were lovely proffesional and attentive. Break in the morning was just as good.

There was nothing I didn't like.

Breakfast quality was great but only one piece of bacon! and mushrooms were soaked in something sour. I would make a special order if I stayed again. Dinner was really good as was the service throughout the stay.

Breakfast was short on quantity but not quality. Shower in bedroom could do with updating and a shower cap would have been nice.

It was clean and comfortable. The location was also great. We were walking the Thames Path and the hotel was 5 min by car.

We received a message bu the hotel that we could dinero at the pub and we could book, but we don't have to because there usually is availability. However we were told by staff to better find so.ewhere else to eat. This is the only thing that we didn't like.

The hotel is really lovely, the staff are exceptional, courteous and welcoming. We booked the suite with a sitting room with pullout bed and up a few stairs into a lovely huge bedroom. The pull out bed was very comfortable and the bed in the main bedroom was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Linen high quality as all finishes. Will definitely stay again when we are in the area and so glad we found it. Free parking. Breakfast was perfect, continental and full english, cooked to perfection. We couldn't believe how large the suite was, plenty of room for 4 with room to spare. A real treat.

Not complaining as we were fine but there are very steep stairs up to the suite and this would be very difficult to access if you had mobility problems. The entrance to the car park is so lovely and it the original arch. It is very narrow and again, we were fine but if you had a large car you may want too park up the road.

Very nice room - spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were particularly friendly and helpful. The dinner was excellent - there was a good selection for vegetarians (us) - some more unusual dishes - very reasonably priced. Good cooked breakfast.

We found the pillows rather hard.
