A lovely pub. Beautifully decorated room and very clean and comfortable. Sustainable products (shower gel and shampoo) in the room which was great. Ideally located. Lots of tea and coffee options in the room free to use.

With it being in a pub and with our stay being over the weekend, it was naturally quite loud outside with groups of people. Also being near a main road, lots of cars and motorbikes did wake us up. But we knew where we were staying so this wasn’t a major issue. Only issue was that there was no option to have breakfast included in our stay so the extra cost of breakfast made this not the greatest value for money when adding it all up.

Room was comfortable and warm. Yes, it could have been modernised but that all costs money when pubs are already struggling. Their selection of beverage accoutrements and biscuits in the room were excellent.

Nothing really. We had concerns that we might not get to sleep when the live music was on downstairs but the staff are in complete control and moderated the timing and all was good.

Nice little gem in Swindon, start off with the room, the room was lovely and cosy and bath was nice and long and deep, we also tried food on our stay and food was exceptional nice and if we lived nearer we would be popping there more often for food, would we stay again? Yes

I'm just being really picky now as hard to pick fault rather than little light you on ceiling you can turn on, would've rather a bedside lamp.

Second year back at The Tawny Owl and all was very good and as expected. Easy parking and location perfect, as well as pub type stay. Didn't meet the same staff team as last year, but all were friendly and supportive. Check out, as paid in advance was simple and we just left our room key and departed. Maybe we will be back in 2024.

Only minor points, but note it can be challenging even if staying to get food or a space to eat inside when it's quiz night. The family room we had this time was smaller than last time, so we would look to revert back to the biggest room.

We loved everything about our stay. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel at home by the friendly staff . Very cheerful and helpful. Room was great, very clean. Some reviews in the past said it was noisy at times due to rooms above the Pub. We never had that problem. Food was great. Plenty of parking and very central to motorways and local tourist spots. Will definitely be back in June. Linda.

Haven’t got anything to say bad about the place.

Stayed 2 nights in a twin bedded large family room at The Tawny Owl. A modern pub with a few rooms upstairs, this place exceeded our expectations. The staff were excellent and went out their way for us, the room was large and overall it was perfect for our needs. Parking is free and even if busy, you should get a space. Located just off the Swindon ring road, it's near other amenities. The staff are interactive and pro-active, the pub food and drink plentiful and of a good standard, as well as quickly served. Whilst we did not have breakfast, we ordered off the pub menu both nights and all was very tasty. They had just had a new computer based til system installed and even with teething problems, were very good at ensuring our needs were met. Our room had one double bed and one single bed and a sofa, along with a large en-suite bathroom. There was even a stand alone fan, as no air-conditioning in the room. Whilst not modern, it was very comfortable, not too pricey and suited us perfectly.

All was very good. Maybe some fresh milk in the room, but I'm sure if we had asked they would have provided. Maybe offer a price reduction if a returning customer or an arrival drink for guests.

The rooms were lovely, well kept and we'll equipped. We had an evening meal before going off to a family party which was really nice. The staff we interacted with were helpful.

When we arrived back quite late there were quite a few customers outside the pub making noise, one was standing on the roof! It was around closing time and it took a long time for them to leave the pub and the immediate area. They were making a lot of noise that could be heard from the room and stopped me going to sleep. It was a shame that this happened as the rooms themselves were lovely.

I didn't expect the towels to be changed daily. The room was very clean & "spider" free :) Food was very good in the restaurant both nights :)

A spare loo roll would've been nice without asking for one

Really nice room, good bathroom and shower, staff really friendly and helpful. Also location excellent for where I needed the following day. Parking really good too. Bed very comfortable and liked the hanging rail in the room - very handy and so much better than a wardrobe as I could see everything.

Nothing major really - maybe a hook on the back of the bathroom door could be useful? Also, somewhere to stand a wash-bag in the bathroom - maybe a shelf or small table near the sink. It's often an issue in hotels.

We arrived about 4pm and went for a wonderful walk around the nearby lake. Back at the hotel we enjoyed an amazing meal. The staff and service were brilliant and the venue was lovely. Plenty of tables and space outside. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The ensuite was a good size. We would certainly stay here again.
