Found this gem of a place last minute due to a change of work schedule. Was met by a very friendly member of staff, so accommodating and kind. The double room was perfect for my requirements. Lovely and clean. A safe place to park, a comfortable bed, good shower, kettle and finally a hotel with decent sized coffee cups 😀 The atmosphere in the pub was so relaxing with great music (to my taste) and a few people with their beautiful dogs so uplifting; I felt fine being there on my own. Thanks

A mini fridge would have been useful, but not having one didn’t spoil the stay.

Swan Inn, Lechlade on Thames 30/12/23 to 2/01/24 The Swan Inn, Lechlade, is a 16th Century Pub on the main street, just down from the Market Square. In the past the market would have been held all along the main street for as far as needed. The Swan is a friendly, family place with local people and happy faces - most of the time, and helpful staff -all of the time! The room I had, The Radnor looked out onto the main street, and had a large 4 poster bed. Very comfortable. Access is via a winding stair, but help with luggage, is, I am sure, available. The car park is located at the rear of the pub and is large and easily accessed.

The Swan Inn did not do food, when I was there, so no breakfast, but there is a very good Bakers / Cafe 30 yards away that opens at 8am. Sourdough bread and sausage and bacon rolls. Excellent. Lynwood's.

We spent one night at the Swan Inn and it was a fantastic experience. We arrived almost at the end of the check in time and the staff called to make sure we were going to make it. Then, I met Lauren, one of their employees, and she was very accommodating and friendly. Having the pub with a pool table downstairs made the stay fun and cosy. The locals were very friendly too, so we felt right at home. I highly recommend Lechlade and the Swan Inn for a fun English experience.

I have nothing negative to say.

Its a lovely old inn in a great location (I was in Lechlade walking sections of the Thames Path National Trail). There are convience stores and take aways nearby for everything that you need. If you enjoy walking, it is possible to follow the Thames path to nearby Kelmscott and Buscot Park.

The price of rooms does seem to change a lot, but when I visited the price was reasonable for a single visitor.

Lovely room, spacious and beautifully decorated. Great to have a bath and a shower. Although my very tall husband couldn’t fit in the low shower there was a shower attachment over the bath too which was really useful. Easy to find with free parking.

Road noise plus road sweeper right outside before 7 am. O appreciate this can’t be controlled due to the age and location of the property but it did mean we didn’t sleep well and woke far too early. We couldn’t watch tv in bed as the 4 poster bed frame blocked the screen. Maybe the TV stand needs to swivel or be repositioned.

The beds were very comfortable in this lovely old pub. We had a great night's sleep. We only met one member of staff when we first checked in who was welcoming - you can either go through the pub to get to your room or there is a separate entrance allowing independence. We don't know if it's deliberate or not, but very few of the accommodation places do breakfast but there are plenty of places to buy a gorgeous breakfast in the town so a great example of businesses supporting each other. Would definitely recommend The Swan Inn.

Although the room was tired and quite small the single bed was very comfortable, the linen spotless. The electric shower was great. Tea and coffee making facilities were available but sadly only 'normal' tea - no alternative so an evening cuppa was not there (for me). The young lady that registered my arrival was a lovely cheerful type and made conversation as she showed me the room and made it clear that if there were any problems she was available to help.

My one and only big gripe really was that the walls were paper thin. Despite an exhausting day I retired to bed earlyish but was woken by the couple in the next room at around 23:30 as they came in. They weren't excessively loud just having a normal conversation but I felt like I was in their room and included in it. The TV was on the small side and suffered from interference to the satellite signal so wasn't worth turning on but that is just a minor observation.

The room (Marlborough) is fabulous. Plenty of space and character, a nice ensuite and of course the four poster which was comfy. Exactly as it looks in the pictures. Staff were friendly and helpful. All clean and well kept.

It was a cold weekend and the room took a while to heat up. There was quite a lot of noise from the road outside, the bar downstairs and the room above. I don't know whether it was Booking.com or the Inn, but it wasn't totally clear that no food or breakfast was served at the pub or included in the price. The message in the text mentioned COVID issues and to check (which we didn't, and assumed it was an old message). The local pubs and cafes were great so it didn't matter too much, but I think you should remove the COVID message as it makes you think it's out of date.

Swan Inn is a quirky little place, with only 4 bedrooms. Very clean. It is in the middle of the town.

The inn is a quirky little place, with very clean room. The bathroom is well maintained, the bedsheets and towels are white and smell fresh. Very comfortable bed. The location is perfect. A short walk to Thames River bank. We used Lechlade as our base to visit Bibury and Cirencester. Overall, our stay was fabulous. We will stay again, when we get the chance. Highly recommended. Best value for money, too.
