Absolutely everything - A real gem in the heart of the Cotswolds, centrally located for wherever you want to go. Beautiful room, spotlessly clean, very tastefully decorated with the patio area right outside the French doors leading on to the fantastic garden, a real plus - Simply one of the nicest places we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. We also enjoyed the heartwarming company of the two best behaved dogs that you could ever wish to meet along with our hosts who were wonderful and there if ever you needed them- If you want to really spoil yourself, look no further.

Beautiful property that was well maintained, with access to a lovely garden and comfortable bed. The hosts were very friendly, providing recommendations for places to visit and restaurants etc, they also topped up the condiments and gave the room a spruce up whilst we were out, which was a nice touch.
The main niggle for us was the walls were paper thin. Another couple were in the room above during our 2 night stay and we could hear their tv and every conversation until 1am in the morning. But otherwise very happy with the stay.

We stayed at the Old School, Idbury 9-11 August 2024 (2 nights). We had the ground floor of a gorgeous cottage. The Old School is located in the beautiful Cotswold countryside and was an extremely quiet and relaxing location. The room was large, very nicely decorated and extremely clean. We had our own bathroom with shower. I have to say that the bed was extremely comfortable and so we slept very well indeed. The hosts were Jenny and John who were extremely friendly and in particular I chatted with John a lot since he has a very interesting history. We had breakfast both mornings of our stay which was plentiful and very nice and fresh. Hot coffee in a cafetiere, milk, toast, crumpets, toasted raisin bread, several cheeses (including extra blue cheese which Jenny kindly provided), jam, marmalade, yoghurt and a wonderful fruit platter. I hope I have remembered everything. We could not even finish it all. The second morning we sat in the garden with our breakfast which was glorious On arrival (and on our second day) Jenny provided her home made bramble gin which was gorgeous. I wish I could have finished it all on both days but alas we have to be sensible when driving, but it was an extremely nice gesture which we enjoyed a lot. Before we left John very kindly offered us an extra night. It was seriously hard to turn it down but unfortunately my wife had to return to work the next day, but we very much appreciated the offer. All in all a fabulous stay at the Old School, Idbury. I would not hesitate to recommend it or return on a future visit to the Cotswolds.
Nothing - everything was lovely

Upon arrival John was very friendly and helpful with tips of towns to visit - all of which paid off! The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and in a perfect location in the middle of Cotswolds. Everywhere was so easy to get to with our hire car. Idbury is a small, quiet village, perfect after a big day of discovering ! Jenny served us delicious breakfasts with plenty of yummy food and made sure we had everything we needed. Lovely people to stay with. Thanks Jenny and John for your hospitality.

The owner, Jenny, is an excellent host. She booked nearby restaurants for us each evening, and they were unfailingly very good. The optional breakfast is exceedingly generous and all of a high quality. Jenny also suggested interesting tourist attractions in the area, several which are not on the mainstream tourist route. Overall we enjoyed our stay and recommend it highly. Idbury village is quiet, but less than a 15 minute drive to nearby centres.
A slight inconvenience, if staying in the upstairs room, is that the private ensuite facilities are on the lower floor.

Lovely clean spacious room nice views beautiful gardens, good facilities and perfect hosts very helpful, kind and friendly. Jenny helped me with bookings and directions before and during the stay and we really appreciated everything she did for us. Good WiFi signal. Good value for money we would love to stay again.
Would of preferred a proper plug point at the side of the bed as the old points do not fit usual UK plugs and the extension lead was only for the beside lamps but this wasn't too much of a problem as there's lots of other plug points in the room, we would just bring our own extension lead next time. Some walls were thin but that can't be changed because the style of property and was not a problem for us everyone was very quiet.

Beautiful setting in a quaint and quiet village. Private annexed room with a lovely garden. Fully recommend breakfast, fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, and delicious breads. The complimentary Bramble Gin in the room is one of the finest I've tasted and was a very nice added touch also. Jenny was a wonderful hostess and provided us with a great deal of helpful advice regarding the surrounding area along with some excellent recommendations for places to eat. A true hidden gem, perfectly located for visiting the Cotswolds.
Nothing we didn't like, the place was perfect in every way.

The Old School at Idbury was a in a charming location and was an idea base for us to explore the nearby Cotswolds towns and villages. The room was very tastefully decorated with a comfy bed and a spotlessly clean bathroom with a shower cubicle. A large living space with a sofa and TV. The continental breakfast was a highlight and delivered daily to our room at an agreed time. It included fresh coffee, fresh orange juice and fresh fruit salad with yogurt. Aswell as a generous portion of croissants, toast and crumpets served with butter, jams and a variety of cheeses. Would highly recommend booking this with Jenny. Thank you for a lovely stay, hope to see you again when we are next in the area. Jackie and Dave.

Fabulous stay. We visited primarily to visit Clarkson’s Farm as well as to see a few of the local villages and it was the perfect location as it was pretty much central to everywhere we wanted to go. The farm and Hawkstone Brewery are just 10-15 mins away and the villages equally just a short drive. The property itself was on a quiet road. Jenny was wonderful - really friendly and hospitable. Jenny recommended a few nice places to eat also and they were great. Highly recommend to get the breakfast as it was lovely and beautifully presented. We stayed in the garden room and it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with gorgeous decor. The pictures are beautiful but it’s even better in real life. It felt like home away from home and couldn’t imagine a better stay. Would absolutely recommend and would stay again.

The accommodation was well appointed, spacious and peaceful. The breakfast was tasty and more than sufficient. Location was in a smallish, quiet village. While the village offered few amenities there was plenty to do within driving distance (30-45 minutes). Overall good value for money.
The bathroom was private but only accessible by stairs which might be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. Perhaps a printed order form with a tick box for breakfast choices, to be submitted the night before, could reduce waste.
