The room was modern, comfortable and clean and was just what we needed. Staff were pleasant and friendly even though you could see they were very busy with a wedding they had on the day we checked in. They were considerate and rang in advance to let us know about the wedding that was occurring that could potentially be a little loud so we planned to eat out that night. Facilities were good, also EV chargers available which is very useful.

Only downside to the hotel is the location. It is perfectly fine if you want to just have a base somewhere and you're happy to either get a taxi or drive out! But the town of Faringdon itself apart from a few pubs and charity shops there isn't much life there.

property with excellent service. It was a bit surprising that we were the only guests at the hotel, but that didn’t affect the quality of our stay. The staff went above and beyond, delivering breakfast to our room right on time since the dining room was closed. The room itself was modern, well-equipped, spotlessly clean, and warm—everything we needed for a comfortable stay. A truly enjoyable experience with great attention to detail!

Felt odd to be the only ones staying in such a large hotel - luckily I was travelling with my husband otherwise could have felt uncomfortable as a female travelling alone

We went to breakfast at 9am and there were only a few pastries left and only 4 pieces of bread left for toast. There were other people coming down for breakfast and as far as I can remember there was no pastries or bread left. It was disappointing that unlike the year before, there was no one topping up the bread or pastries. That should have been done this last Christmas.

The Only other thing was that the lady who was in attendance on Boxing Day breakfast was not too happy about working this particular shift. She didn’t smile once. Her whole demeanour was just that she didn’t want to be bothered with helping out or that she didn’t want to be there. The previous Boxing Day of 2023 there was a lovely lady who was either Chinese or Vietnamese or Thai and she was very happy and joyful and jolly. Nothing was too much trouble. Compare this to 2024 and the sullen demeanour of the British lady who was working! Very different! I understand that she most likely didn’t want to be there but you have to work unsociable hours the tourist industry unfortunately.

Late revision of room requirement was well attended. Thank you. Because of a large wedding party on the Saturday, dining facilities were altered, but this was no problem. Courtesy and friendliness of all staff was much appreciated.

We would have appreciated a more 'level' car parking area. (Being elderly, this was a bit awkward for us). We were surprised at having a long wait for our evening meal on our day of arrival but this was soon dealt with following our discussion with appropriate staff. We would have preferred an eating area without background music - which we found monotonous and intrusive AND the same each evening!

Lovely grounds and location. Clean comfortable rooms. Everything working and up to date. Food was excellent particularit breakfast. Staff super friendly. Beautiful floodlight terrace. Gardens maintained and lovely. Parking easy. All effortless. We stayed overnight with family and had dinner in the terrace room. There was a wedding on that they were solicitous in telling us about ahead but we ate in a different part of the hotel and it was all lovely.

There was nothing we didn't like. The only reason I have not rated a 10 is that it's not a "luxury hotel" but it doesn't pretend to be but otherwise perfect.

The hotel was lovely, room very comfortable and spacious. We only stayed for one night passing through the area but it was perfect for that. There was a wedding in the hotel that night and it was extremely quiet so no disturbances there.

We did have (we think the cleaner) come into our room at 10am despite the do not disturb sign on the door. They were very apologetic and left instantly, sure it was just a mistake but it did wake us up!

Nice comfortable room & bed, friendly , informed the week beforehand that a wedding party was taking place so music till 12 pm…gardens were lovely & lots of comfy outdoor seating if weather had been nicer!

In the room there was a nice set comfy chairs & table but on the table the edging strip was hanging loose Also the tea served at breakfast time was not very good , they need to infest in better tea like Yorkshire etc

The hotel was very nice in beautiful surroundings with ten minutes walk into the town The staff were very pleasant and helpful Good food but menu limited but easy to walk to town if want a change

Unfortunately some of our group had issues with housekeeping on a couple of days

Very friendly attentive staff. Hotel in good position - a few minutes walk from the town with good access to surrounding areas by car. Would recommend.

We were expecting a restaurant and brasserie. Sadly the restaurant is no longer open so we had to eat elsewhere a couple of evenings as the brasserie menu was quite limited. The meals we did have were very good.

Very dog friendly. Really good to have an entrance close to room and access to the garden for dog walks. Good to have bins for dogs. Grounds of hotel absolutely beautiful. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was really great. Good service and selection. Lovely peaceful location. Wi-Fi brilliant.

TV in room not tuned in. Could not get the normal channels. Tap in bathroom quite difficult for my wife who has severe arthritis. Shower over bath not so easy for my wife.
