The rooms are a nice size, we had 3 rooms in total, two were ground floor as requested and the quad room was on the first floor. Our bathroom in our room was compact and the toilet bowl had brown stains that had obviously gotten worse over months, it was clean, but on first appearance, it wasn't great. The extractor fan made a racket when the light was turned on, again, didn't bother us, but could do with some maintenance. Our room had a bath tub which was a bonus :-) Dad's room, was bigger and had a walk in shower. All looked clean and tidy. My sister had the quad room but I don't know what that looked like, but heard no complaints. There was plenty of toiletries in the bathroom and plenty of tea coffee etc in the room, a nice touch, as most rooms only have enough for 1 drink each - and when you like a cuppa - it's nice not to have to ask for more :-) The B&B only provides breakfast at the weekends, but there is a cafe next to the pub in the same grounds, but didn't open until 10:00 so we had to find another place to have breakfast - the one we found, we would NOT use again. The staff at the pub are super friendly, work really hard and are a welcome change to some we've encountered. The food selection is good, and the portions are large. Definitely worth the money. We love the fact that this venue is right on the river, so we could sit in the garden next to the river, feed the swans etc. You can also hire boats and pedalos from the hire place next door. I would highly recommend The Riverside.

We weren’t expecting anything like what we found at The Riverside! The views, location and room were outstanding!! We wish we could have been staying longer than one night! I accidentally spilled compact makeup on the carpet of the room and the staff were lovely about it which I appreciated as I already felt terrible!

The only downside which is solely our situation and nothing actually wrong with the place was the drop into the Thames in the outside seating area and it was only an issue cause we had our 16 month old with us so were on our toes the whole time making sure he didn’t yeet himself over, our next visit will be without kids so we can relax and enjoy the view!

Very helpful staff, very clean room and comfortable bed.

Nothing EXCEPT there are no taxi companies locally. I was attending a wedding four miles away and Riverside gave me notice of this fact and recommended I book beforehand. The taxi I booked didn’t turn up so I had to drive after having driven miles to get there, good as no hangover the next morning but annoying as everyone else was toasting in champagne. Others at the wedding were asked for an additional £10 each by a driver who had already been well paid and knew the distance beforehand. Many couldn’t get a cab at all. Not the hotels fault but as it’s a popular area there should be more cabs, there are plenty in Swindon they just don’t want to drive too far, perhaps.

Stayed here with my two children. I’d stayed previously, so I knew the room layouts were perfect for a family. We had a great dinner last night (the only issue was that I didn’t realise food wasn’t serves until 6pm which was a bit late for us, the kids were shattered). We had a great nights sleep… The kids shared the double bed and I took the separate single room. Popped over for breakfast this morning at just done 8am, but the place was locked up- so I’m not sure if I got my wires crossed. Wasn’t an issue as we went to a cafe in town. We’d definitely return though, the price is great and the rooms are lovely.

loved the cottage feel of the chalet, it had a single room off of the main double as well as being an ensuite. the scrambled eggs were creamy, really nice

it was hard to find the car park using sat nav, luckily a helpful local gave us good directions. I stayed with my elderly mother who is diabetic and walks very slowly, the landlord would not give me time to walk my mother to our room before placing an order for a meal as it was too close to 9pm. A little compassion, empathy or some leeway would have been nice. luckily I always pack some food just in case.

The Riverside was exactly as described. Perfect location, lovely friendly staff. Very good value money. I would recommend the Ham hock terrine platter . Rooms are located in separate buildings, seconds away from the pub, with everything you would need . An extremely comprehensive tea and coffee tray , no small shower sachets either, you could get a couple of couple of showers out of each one. Such a lovely walk each way along the river bank . We will definitely be returning.

Loved pretty much everything- amazing location, characterful building (yet tastefully modernised inside), helpful staff, all very relaxed and easy. Our particular accommodation was perfect for our kayaking trip - private outside space for drying the boats and a huge living area with space for all the paraphernalia. Kayakers might like to know that the town slipway is directly adjacent to The Riverside’s garden and can be accessed through the gate at the far end of the car park - it’s a very good launching spot.

Nothing to dislike - it felt like really good value for money.

We really liked our stay at The Riverside. The food and drink were reasonably priced. We stayed in a family room, which was spacious and clean and very comfortable. The view from the beer garden is fantastic, right on the River Thames, where you can view people enjoying themselves on the boats and pedalos.

The car park is small and busy. There are limited spaces. We waited for 40 minutes, circling the car park to try and get parked, That is the only criticism I had. I think if you have booked to stay at The Riverside, they should reserve x amount of spaces for staying guests.

The Manager was brilliant and very understanding when we arrived and I had booked the wrong date. He talked me through amending the date and ensured we got our room. The room was lovely and well set up and even had Netflix.

When we tried to order food after another few people at the bar we were told the kitchen had stopped serving. After travelling for 8 hours and seeing food stream out for another 20 plus minutes this was a little disappointing.

Wonderfully situated on the bank of the river Thames it was perfect to apply the kayak for a nice two-hours trip upstream and float down again and have a shower, good food an local beer afterwards before sleeping in the small but very cosy one-bed chamber in the attic. I'll book it again next time.

The only thing was my tiny (thank god I am a thin person of only 1,8 m in height) bathroom across the floor, which needs a window or a working ventilation system (there is indeed one installed). But it is not unlikely that I simply didn't find the right switch since they are partly in the corridor or hidden elsewhere. I admit I could have asked.
