Our room was clean and looked lovely on arrival. Beautifully decorated, nice smelling shower products, lovely soft towels. Our Lunch was amazing, each course so delicious, compliments to the Chef. We sat outside in the sunshine, beautiful garden view. Breakfast was tasty. Staff were attentive and friendly at all times. The Star was in a beautiful location near to where we were meeting with a friend.

Our room was clean and beautifully decorated but the sloping ceiling made it awkward to get in and out of bed, also the bed was very small for a double so not as comfortable with two people in it.

Lovely, spacious superior room. Really nice, spacious and clean bathroom with powerful shower. Yummy breakfast.

Superior room: Only problems were the rather bright flashing smoke detector on the ceiling; and that it got rather hot, even though the radiator didn't seem to be on. Standard room downstairs: banging of doors woke my friend up in the morning.

Room was great except shower wouldn’t turn on. Staff fixed it as soon as they were informed though so not a problem. Waitress we had was lovely and very helpful. She arranged for shower to be fixed and also checked on our missing luggage delivered to the hotel.

Staff and contractors walking past the window on the gravel pathway early in the morning. Also vehicles opening and closing doors could be heard from the room but no voices so not a big issue.

We asked hotel to book a taxi to a wedding party .. obvious not using local taxi firms … we declined snd booked our own at a fraction of the price … please use local Firms… early wake up call with banging doors at 6.30am😳… room small but clean …

Trying to rip off your customers with hugely inflated taxi prices

The standard of food was very high - beautifully cooked and presented. Table service was attentive but not overbearing. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Beds perhaps a little soft for some. Shower was cold early evening but fine the following morning. Packed lunch for the next day's walking was just one sandwich and overpriced.

Staff very friendly and will go out of their way to help. Lovely location and great to be able to walk from barn accommodation to the main bar. Interiors of bedrooms are lovely and well equipped with nice toiletries. Excellent breakfasts and nice evening meal in cosy bar.

Tiny portion size for home smoked salmon starter when serving next day at breakfast (which was excellent quality) was sumptuous. Maybe different kinds...? Bed not as comfy as could be and slept pretty poorly throughout my 5 night stay.

The Star was in a beautiful location and extremely clean with excellent fittings and furnishings. Beds very comfortable. The food was of restaurant standard and the staff were very attentive and service excellent. My twin brother and I went to The Star to celebrate our 70th birthday and we found it a perfect place to do this.

My brother and his wife slept in the King Suite which had Velux windows in the sitting area. It rained during the night and they found the noise on the windows disturbed their sleep.

Lovely venue, very helpful staff and very friendly.

Wasn't keen on the first room we were given as the ceiling was too low and there wasn't any adequate wardrobe space to hang our wedding outfits. We were moved as there was a problem with the toilet and the 2nd room was excellent.

Beautiful room, lovely shower

Ground floor room, had window open but there was noise on the gravel outside that woke me a few times throughout the night. Also, my friends had breakfast included and I didn’t. Not sure why as our rooms cost the same amount.
