The room was lovely and well furnished. We had huge windows looking down on Water Street. We were in room 305. The shower was large and the bed and couch comfy. When we left by car it was only a six minute drive to signal hill where we did some awesome hiking. Beautiful. The Blue on Water restaurant is very yummy. I had the grilled cheese sandwich that they make with jam, apple and pecans. Yum!

We were there on a Saturday night. And though the windows were well insulated, the throbbing of music on George Street reached us until 2 am. One of us was able to sleep with it. Not me. But that is a small price to pay for a super great location where we could walk to shops and restaurants, the harbor, boat and bus tours and bars.

Staff was great. Decor is awesome. Rooms are spacious. Love the soaking tub and heated bathroom floor. Comfortable bedding and pillows. Great views down Water Street. Hipster vibe and located in the heart of all the pubs and eateries.

The coffee provided in room is pretty bad. The heater blows pretty hard even on the lowest fan setting so that it creates a draft in the room which is actually cold while you are trying to get warm (and it blows straight up the drapes). I was a little disappointed in the restaurant. They are trying, but they need a better chef. The cocktails were a bit lacking as well. The parking is not convenient, especially for the daily rate, but then it was very cold out. I might have minded less in warm weather.

Location was right in the center of the most desirable section of town, a street full of restaurants and bars with outdoor patios and one block from the vibrant harborfront. My huge windows looked out on all the action. If you are bothered by street noise, I wouldn't recommend a room on the front of the hotel, but I actually enjoyed the street noise. The bathroom was huge with a soaking tub and actual towel racks full of towels! The food at the hotel restaurant and bar was so good that I never bothered to eat anywhere else. The bed had great reading lights on both sides.

I have read some silly reviews that complained about having to check in at the hotel bar rather than at a conventional registration desk. I was delighted to check in at the bar and have a beer right away!

The room was comfortable, clean and the bathroom was beautiful! The location is ideal if you'd like to be right in the heart of downtown (surrounded by restaurants, shops and nightlife) Food was also great!

Despite the amazing staff and their best efforts to help the parking was a struggle due to road closures and the parking being offsite. It would have been ideal if we had a designated space for check in (Check in at bar) as we waited for our check in with the bartender who had drinks to finish prior. On another note it was quite noisy which could be a problem for some. The street, the bar below and a on and off construction type sound in the late evening were slightly disturbing.

The hotel is perfectly located on Water Street, close to everything. Our room looked out onto the street (which appears to be a pedestrian area - at least for while we were there). The room was large and bathroom amazing! The streetside restaurant was small but very popular (you need to make dinner reservations). We had breakfast on teh day we headed out of St Johns and it was really nice (fishcakes).

Good, central location. The bathroom was huge and really comfortable.

It's right in the middle of the bars, which is convenient for transportation, but, it's very loud until very late. I'm not sure if this was because it was a Saturday night, but the noise (drunk people screaming outside, music from the rooftop patio right in front, or cars speeding) was very loud and nonstop until after at least 1.30 am, making it impossible to get a good night sleep.

The meals and drinks at Blue were excellent, served by attentive staff. The charming, eclectic decor of the hotel and bar were refreshing, and first rate. The hotel will be my go-to location for future trips. I really like the downtown location in heart of the harbour district. The old buildings, independent shops, and good restaurants make for a pleasant stay in the city.

Parking downtown, particularly in the daytime is a challenge, but not the hotel's fault.

The room was very spacious and comfortable, modern in a stylish, cozy way. Location was right in the center of St John’s.

There was nothing I didn’t like. check in is a bit strange. There is no front desk. Check in is the restaurant downstairs. At the moment the city is doing upgrades in this area and you might have to walk a block to get there.

Large deluxe room, very comfortable, lovely appointments. Bathroom is very spacious with a soaker tub and walk in shower. The staff from Sullivan down are exceptional. They were friendly, professional and extremely helpful. Sullivan makes you feel welcome and goes out of his way to be helpful with all aspects of our stay.

Floor in the pub was quite slippery and once the shower floor or bathroom floor got damp or wet it was extremely slippery.

The room including shower was welcoming and nice. Room service brought me extra coffee quickly, no issues. People are kind and welcoming. The table to work at is good. A good restaurant at bottom floor is always an asset.

The outside of the building is old and scruffy. Parking is way too far and complicated to reach. The decoration is tasteless - sorry.
