My wife and I were in room 111 for a week. It had a great view, nice large room with sofa and balcony looking at the beach and sunsets, good housekeeping, nice breakfast buffet, nice pools, beautiful garden grounds, great massages at the spa, nice main bar (thanks Yaneesh, Raji, and Nadeep for taking care of us), easy free secure parking. Teppanaki was the best food we had there.

I would not call this a 5 star. We have been to many 5 star resorts and this falls short. Yet the price is similar to other 5 star places. The system they have is convoluted, which slows service way down everywhere. Check in took more than a half hour with no explanation of what’s offered at the resort just checking us in. Their system for services you could not reach directly on the phone but had to go through a service number which made all things like reservations, room service, housekeeping, any questions, much more difficult and time consuming, wasting my time waiting is not what I want to do on holiday.

Its a very nice hotel with good facilites perhaps a little tired

We went on an all inclusive basis and choose this hotel as it had several restaurants. Unfortunately in half of the restaurants an additional surcharge of about £50- 60 per head was charged and in the other restaurants about half the items required a supplement payment. None of this was mentioned on the hotel web site. I would not return because of this, as it spoiled the holiday

The resort property was really nice. Nice walkways to walk around the property. Easy access to beach. Great room, bed and mattress was comfortable. Turn-down service, water bottles provided - was really nice. Wonderful bathroom. Pretty happy with the property and the room we booked. Most of the beach, or access to water was rocky - perhaps this is normal for mauritius, but I did not expect that.

The "glass bottom boat" experience was terrible as the waters were rough, and we felt sea-sick. It would have been nice if we would have gotten a disclaimer or warning about this. I know this is more an operator issue rather than a Westin issue, but it would be beneficial for future guests if they would be made aware of such things.

We have travelled to Mauritius many times, but this resort was in a league of its own. The staff were incredible, sincere and kind. They truly made our stay tremendous. Soonita was a standout for us, and assisted us a lot with meals for our very picky boy. We simply cannot wait to visit this incredible resort again. Thank you so much!!!

The fact that we had to leave...we were truly considering extending our stay - but flights were a problem. We didn't want to leave.

The staff were really friendly, the property is beautiful and the food was also great, plenty of variety. We enjoyed our stay.

The beach was rocky, you also couldn’t walk on the beach without your shoes.

We liked the interaction the staff had with us. They were welcoming, attentive, and quick to respond to our requests. Special thanks to Avi, Yuveer, the golf car driver and Methooza, at Beach Grill, Sébastien and Sheik. They were all professional in their respective jobs by making us feel at ease.

I booked in Booking.com and I fear that the rate applied was a bit on the high side, compared to the prevailing rate of that day.

Beachfront location spread out along the coast, perfect setting for sunsets, lovely and clean swimming pools, plenty of sun-beds, loved the beach towels being provided with a beach bag to use. Beachfront grill restaurant was amazing and our favourite lunch spot, and great for a quiet a la carte breakfast! Kangan was delicious. All inclusive worked well and plenty of options on the food and drink menus. Helpful and friendly staff. Great to have the water activities included such as snorkelling and kayaking. Bedroom and bathroom were spacious and had everything we needed with an extremely comfy bed.

Some restaurants required booking several days in advance. There are quite a lot of additional options for food and drinks even on all inclusive, even if supplemented slightly. Whilst most staff were attentive, service could be a little slow with taking drinks orders, bringing drinks, and clearing plates at the buffet. The floor in our bedroom/bathroom felt as though it could be cleaner.

there was noise next door to my room the other guests. the wasps were out of control i did make a suggestion to burn turkish coffee they usually get bothered by burning coffee smell and leave

Room was as expected, spacious and real nice. we had one on the ground floor with view to sea and pool. the breakfast buffet had everything on it what you could wish. the quality of meals at the different restaurants was excellent, the staff really friendly and tried to fulfill all the wishes. Some of the sommeliers was very good, they knew their cellar and the wines.

as our room was on ground floor we could not leave the balcony doors open at night, as we were not sure to find one of the many free roaming dogs or cats in our room. the online wine list at the retreat bar was not correct as it listed white wines under red and the staff there did not really know the list.

The Westin is a stunning property by the beach in Turtle Bay Balaclava with two leisure pools and multiple water activities. Some of water activities (glass bottom boat, snorkelling, kayaking etc) were complimentary, which was amazing. The beach in front of the hotel wasn’t the most conducive for swimming but there was dedicated space beyond the water sports area and the snorkelling was fantastic. Our room was spacious and the cove bed was perfect for our little ones. The food across restaurants was delicious and the buffet at Seasonal Tastes had a wide spread catering to different cuisines. The local cuisine they cooked on our last day was a highlight for us, it was delectable. The staff also organised a management cocktail on one of the days in Beach Grill to add a very personal touch. The staff throughout the resort was warm, friendly and hospitable, and ensured we were well taken care of at all times. Special mention of the staff at Seasonal Tastes for preparing little delights for our young ones. Overall, would definitely recommend this resort and consider coming back here in the future.
