Tamassa Bel Ombre, Mauritius - Full Board Review To say the staff at Tamassa Bel Ombre are friendly and helpful is an understatement. They went above and beyond to honor our special room requests, like providing two single beds instead of a double and accommodating a late checkout on our last day. The beds were super comfortable, and our room was large, bright, and inviting. The grounds were immaculate, and the resort offered extensive complimentary activities daily. If the weather is pleasant, you can enjoy many activities, including bike rentals, tennis, lawn games, snorkeling, glass bottom boat rides, pedal boats, canoes, stand-up paddleboarding, and sailing. There is also a large selection of indoor activities for rainy days: exercise classes, meditation sessions, a games room (table tennis, board games, pool, you name it) and yoga. The lagoon right at your doorstep is separated from the ocean by a coral reef, home to many wonderful fish and sea creatures. The pristine private beach has soft, clean sand and ample deck chairs, allowing you to walk without fear of coral cutting your feet. Each night featured a dinner theme from cuisines around the world, with a vast variety of absolutely winning dishes. The seafood skewers, ossobuco, chili con carne, and sticky Asian ribs were all to die for. The chefs were incredibly accommodating with food intolerances; if you let them know in advance, they can prepare gluten-free burgers, crepes, pasta, pizza—you name it—making you never feel like a burden. Each evening, dinner was accompanied by live music followed by entertainment. If I could give the staff and the accommodation six stars, I would! I can’t wait to return next year.

We really enjoyed our stay. Food was great, staff were friendly and helpful. Location was superb for experiencing more than just the beautiful beaches of Mauritius. Black River gorge, and La Vallee des Couleurs nature park are a must see! Takamaka (for wine tasting) Camarel (for Mauritian Rum and restaurant) and La Table Du Currybou (restaurant) are all worth a visit. Easy drive North to Tamarin to swim with the Dolphins. Tamassa may not offer all the facilities that some of the "fancier" resorts do, but it offers great value for money! We spent a lot of time doing things outside the resort during the day, so the half-board package was a win for us! The option to upgrade to full board is available at check-in or at anytime during your stay, so you could half-board for say 3 days whilst visiting surrounding attractions, then upgrade to all-inclusive for the balance of your stay and enjoy all the resort has to offer.

The unpleasant smell that sometimes wafted across the main entrance to the resort. Fortunately, once inside the resort, we did not smell it at all for the duration of our stay.

Amazing stay! We really enjoyed the vibe and style, as well as variety of sport and wellness activities, especially SPA, sunset yoga and tennis courts. Delicious, varied colorful local food in the hotel canteen. Swimming pool next to the bar full of activities and music, meanwhile the second one was always calm and good place to relax. Very helpful reception desk! (airport shuttle, car rental, picnic box etc.) Very good location, close to the most important tourist attractions

Small objections to some staff members. It happened that our room was not really well-cleaned or we waited really long time in the canteen or restaurant for a waiter to come to our table.

I had the pleasure of celebrating our honeymoon and the birthday of my wife as a surprise at Tamassa Bel Ombre Hotel, and it was a delightful experience. First and foremost, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the hotel staff and the entire team. They not only prepared our room beautifully but also took the time to explain everything we needed to know. Their attentiveness and hospitality made us feel truly welcome. My wife and I had a wonderful time during our stay. The hotel organized a fantastic breakfast and a birthday celebration right by the beach, creating a lovely ambiance that added to the magic of the moment. Additionally, we were pleasantly surprised by the honeymoon lunch offer, and the food and menu were nothing short of delicious. The presence of a security agency near the beach also gave us peace of mind, ensuring our safety throughout our visit. In the evenings, there were captivating events and dancing, which added an extra layer of entertainment and fun to our stay. One of the highlights of our experience was the opportunity to have our wedding photos taken and to enjoy a relaxing massage - Santosha. These services added an extra layer of luxury and convenience to our stay, and we appreciated the hotel's efforts to cater to our needs. For those who like to try some typical mauritius food you can walk to the nearest restaurants along the main street B9 in the direction of bel ombre region. But I would says that the menus in the Playa Restaurant, Tamassa Resort is semilar to what is typical mauritius. In conclusion, Tamassa Bel Ombre provided us with a memorable and unforgettable experience for our honeymoon and birthday celebration. The staff, the beachside setting, the culinary delights, and the various activities all contributed to a fantastic stay. We highly recommend Tamassa Hotel to anyone seeking a special and enjoyable getaway. We look forward to returning in the future. Thank you for making our celebration so special!

The water in the beach was not clear enough comparing to mediterranean sea (like in Tunisia, my home county :) ) but maybe because we were not in the right season ( we went there on 23 - 27 August 2023 ), there was some stone in the ground of beach and you have to wear swimming shoes.

The room was well equipped, comfortable and big enough. Kudos to our favorite cleaning lady that did a wonderful job with the amazing room decorations! She brought a smile on our face each time. The variety of food was satisfying, especially the beef, naan and paaner. It was nice to have free drinks like lemonade on the beach and the possibility to order fresh coconuts. And the live music and dance shows each Friday was pretty entertaining. We even managed to dance Salsa, Cha Cha, Rumba and Samba!

We have spent 10 wonderful days at Tamassa. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful; there was simply nothing that could not be done. We were a party of five and four of us have Celiac disease. Travelling with Celiac disease is not easy, however at Tamassa it was easier than ever before. The chefs and staff did everything to accommodate every wish and we felt completely safe every day, whether we had pancakes, lunch packages, burgers from the truck, meals from the buffet, or a special glutenfree birthday cake for our daughter. So thanks to JSC Suraj, ESC Jean Marc, Jean Edinho, Mr. Altaaf and the amazing staff in the restaurant and around the hotel, we had the most wonderful time at Tamassa bel Ombre. We highly recommend this hotel to anybody who is fortunate enough to visit this small piece of paradise - Mauritius 🌺

Reception staff welcomed us with a cold towel and refreshing juice. Facilities was exceptional. We felt right at home and safe. Thank you to Geraldo for accommodating gluten free meals for my daughter Naeemah cleaned our rooms to perfection, very helpful when it came to guiding us to travel by bus. Studio 17, which has the gym, tennis, pool table tennis chess and so much more.. was a good gap filler.

Hotel was perfect. However there is nothing nearby, travel by taxi or public bus

Very nice pools, spacious grounds, nice resort layout, good beach access.

Buffet breakfast was plentiful but not amazing. We were particularly disappointed with the fresh fruit selection as there was very limited tropical fruit. The room was not bad but perhaps just a tad below 3 stars. The overall resort was 3+ star so it all averages out to a solid 3 star by western standards.

The resort was really nice, awesome pools, great amenities, clean, great buffet, great staff and entertainment.

We were on half-board and found it quite shocking that for dinner, they would charge for plain water(the same they offer in the room) or any drinks. I've traveled a lot and it's the first time we've encountered this situation. The service staff was great, but I would suggest management to review their strategy and focus on creating a nice experience with little gestures instead of trying to charge extra for every little detail. It leaves a bad taste despite all the other great things.

Absolutely beautiful place maintained inside and out the staff very helpful but some dont understand English that well room service i give 10 out of 10 . The hotel have lots of things to do especially if you have kids the staff keep them busy with activities,the hotel have a board with things to do u can karaoke or clubbing DJ on premises very nice was lively at night food truck enjoyed the beef burger and was the cheapest

To be honest its a bit far from airport it takes you 1 hour to get to airport there is no taxi u can just hop in to go to a different area you actually have to pay for a private taxi that cost a leg and foot they charge per hour depending where u go the food at hotel is expensive but there is a big variety thought you have to pay for water that is a bummer we went to a chemin paid 700 rupies driver only wait 2 hours anything more then 2 hours u have to pay xtra so transport is the issue if you not planning on taking a hired car
