The location provided the most beautiful views from the verandah and room. The distance to town was great. The bed was very comfortable. Good cooking facilities for little meals for one. The hosts Jocelyn and Ross were so friendly and obliging. They helped me connect with some locals that could help me with my ancestry search.

The water flow from the shower was not great. I know they are probably trying to conserve water but I had to stay in there longer than I normally would with a normal flower shower head.

The harbour view from our room was the favourite of all the places we stayed at in NZ- it was relaxing, peaceful and also rejuvenating. You could see the sunrise, sunset, the boats, the birds, the hills in the distance- and there was a lovely private deck to enjoy it all with some chairs. We even had breakfast out there! Low water pressure in bathroom/shower/toilet- however we learned afterwards from the owner that this is common across the whole area- we still managed to use the facilities but were a bit worried about possibly blocking up the toilet! Kitchenette/Kitchen- there is no mixer tap as the hot/cold taps are separate- however everything else functional (no range hood fan from memory). Outdoor space (deck) was a bit dusty but we still happily used this!

We thought we'd appreciate a deck with a sunset view for the last night of our North Island tour, and what a view it is. The deck was such a great place to chill both with a glass of wine and a takeaway watching the sun set, and having breakfast watching the tide come in. The room was great - clean, spacious and well equipped, and we'd have no hesitation in coming back, although unfortunately for us 11,000 miles is a bit far for a long weekend.

The view from the room is stunning, and that is the main reason I'd recommend this place to stay. The room facilities, kitchenware and beds are fine. We did not figure it out in the beginning, so here's a tip: in our room there was a set of blankets for sitting on the deck if the weather is cold that was kept in the chest standing close to the sofa.

The parking lots are supposed to be close to the entrances of the units, in a narrow driveway with a dead end, be careful. Close your bathroom window in the evening, we did not do it, and found a large pack of insects on the floor and on the walls in the morning.

A well appointed unit with fantastic views to the harbour. We made good use of the deck as we watched the sun go down. Good size kitchen with full size fridge. Comfy sofa and beds and unit nicely decorated. Queen bed in the unit looks straight over the water. A beautiful way to wake up!

Parking was bit tight in my large SUV but managed to reverse into the spot easily with some guidance. Thought the dining table was a little small for 4 adults but we made it work.

Ocean view rooms have stunning view. The hosts are lovely people, the units have everything you need to be able cook/clean/home comforts. Hosts are happy to give you lots of recommendations on what to do, give you equipment to borrow. Was easy to get to places like catherdal cove/hot water beach only about an hour away.

My recent stay at the Harbour View Motel was an unexpected delight. Arriving after a long journey, we were prepared to settle for anything, but our host had a pleasant surprise in store for us. Upon check-in, the host initially showed us to the room I had originally booked. It was a nice room, but what truly made our stay special was when he offered to upgrade us to a room with a breathtaking view of the harbor, all at no extra charge. This unexpected gesture immediately set a positive tone for our stay. The upgraded room was nothing short of fabulous. It was notably larger than our original booking, providing us with more space to relax and unwind. But the real showstopper was the view. From our window, we were treated to a magnificent vista of the harbor, which was truly a sight to behold. Watching the changing colors of the sunset was a highlight of our stay. The breakfast at the Harbour View Motel was sufficient and reasonably priced, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes. It was a great way to start our day and fuel up for our adventures in the area. Our host at the motel had a wonderful sense of humor, making us feel welcome and at ease throughout our stay. His friendly demeanor added a personal touch to our experience and made us feel like valued guests. In terms of cleanliness, the room was spotless, and we felt comfortable and safe during our entire stay. This attention to cleanliness was especially reassuring given the ongoing concerns about health and hygiene. Overall, our stay at the Harbour View Motel exceeded our expectations. The unexpected upgrade to a room with a stunning harbor view, along with the warm hospitality of our host, made our visit memorable. If you're looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay with a picturesque view, this motel is a great choice. We would happily return in the future.

Huge unit with a great view of the water. Very peaceful. Spacious kitchen ( the first that has had a fire extinguisher ). Tons of seating options. Guest laundry and airing rack. Ross was very helpful. Great outdoor deck.

Nice little motel a very short drive from the town centre. You get a nice view of the water which was lovely to wake up to. Parking right outside your room. Room was warm, has sky and wifi. Shower and bathroom/toilet was clean and tidy. The shower is bigger than ours at home haha so that was a bonus. Absolutely enjoyed the guest information book. Had some funny bits in there which gave me a chuckle.

Low water pressure in the shower. However I understand the need to conserve water using this but would have been nice to have the high pressure on my tense shoulders after driving!

Great location and view, quiet, plenty of room I would go back to this accommodation. Owner had great local knowledge on the sights we should see we would have not taken the Train trip which ended up being a highlight. The road in was not easy.
