The room was very comfortable and very clean. We appreciated the tea/ coffee making facilities in the room. Our Monday night meal in the pub was delicious, beautifully presented, and the serving staff were excellent. The proprietor ensured we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend staying there.

We chose the roast lunch on Sunday and were disappointed with the food, especially the Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. We wondered if they had been kept warm for several hours. They certainly weren't crisp!

Our room was attractive, comfortable and warm. The bathroom was really striking and both rooms were very clean and just made us feel happy. Space was made for us in the dining room despite it being very busy, the staff were so friendly and the food was very good. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. We have stayed here before, there have been changes and it is in a different league.

I had to search long and hard to say this but I have bad wrists and a lighter teacup in the room for my early morning tea would have been a help.

The hotel was very clean and the beds were very comfy . Staff were very polite and pleasant . Breakfast was excellent and service was great. We had a meal at the hotel on one of the nights and it was fabulous. Service was great and the food was delicious .

Unfortunately one of my parents found the stairs very difficult as we were two floors up . In hindsight sight, I should have asked for a room on a lower floor. The stairs are very difficult for older people.

Lovely staff, so friendly. Great location for me personally (family living 5 mins away). Room was really nicely decorated, I liked the historical photos on the wall of the square that the pub is located in. Room had everything I needed for a two night stay. Bathroom was nice and spacious. Good shower. Bed was comfortable and hospitality tray was fully stocked. Nice choices for breakfast and staff very accommodating. We had a couple of drinks in the pub early evening and the atmosphere was really nice. I would definitely recommend and go back to stay again.

I loved the location and the ambience in the hotel, the facilities in the rooms were all state of the art. I knew from their billboard outside about their opening times but was surprised that there seemed to be no member of staff on duty in the hotel. All in all a lovely weekend and will definitely be booking again.

Food in the evening was excellent. Nice atmosphere. Staff all very helpful. Nice wine. Great walk in shower.

Pillows uncomfortable bit lumpy. Only one bath towel for two of us.No mugs in room. Breakfast was just ok. No butter for toast. Snotty fried egg. No cereal or juice offered. No jam or marmalade..Morning staff ( one girl ) seemed very uninterested. Think we were the only guests so possibly why no cereals juices put out. But not even offered. Wasn’t impressed.

The place was in a good location as it was quiet and there was loads of parking out the front. The place its self was lovely, nicely decorated and the staff were welcoming. My room was nicely decorated and seemed to be clean. It did have a bath tub and a shower you could hold to have a shower which is annoying but first world problems!

Breakfast was included and it was ok, the sausages weren't that nice but personal preference. I would have liked some sort of 'menuhin what I could have had rather than just think on my feet. That's not for me in the morning!

The location was beautiful, a lovely little village. The hotel is located in the centre of a quaint little village market square with lots of local shops to visit. The hotel is aesthetically pleasing with a very warm, welcoming feel. The staff were amazing and the food is something else. I had the peppered steak pie with mash, greens, and a side of beef gravy. From the first bite to the last, everything tasted great.

The wife and I both had a lovely evening meal on the second night as they didn’t do evening meals on the Sunday. The breakfast was excellent as we had stayed there on a previous visit to the area we knew what to expect. Nothing was too much trouble. *****.

The only negative thing was that the George doesn’t have a lift, but as it is a listed building there is only so much they could do to keep the character of a beautiful building.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. Very popular with the locals but there were also visitors who were attending a music concert at The Town Hall. Spotlessly clean room and comfortable bed. Plenty of tea, coffees and milk in the room along with biscuits and hot chocolate sachets. The meals being served in the evening seemed good-sized portions and looked appetizing. We had breakfast which was lovely. Plenty of choice: cereals, croissants, yogurts, breakfast bars, porridge and fruit, orange juice, tea and coffee to order. Good choice of cooked breakfast including Eggs Benedict and full English.

Our room was on the front and there is a street light outside the window which meant that our room wasn't dark enough at night as the blackout curtains didn't quite fit the whole of the bay window which is an original window. I did mention it next morning and did stress how comfortable the bed had been and all the other positives.
