We were greated with a friendly smile upon arrival and given a warm-hearted farewell 2 weeks later, we could not have chose a better place to stay in Mauritius. Despite having travelled to so many corners of the world we had not received such a personal, caring hospitality, we truly felt like part of a family. The wonderful people working at Maison Du Nord constantly, yet seamlessly make sure that their guests are having a wonderful time. They acknowledged our honeymoon with many little surprises, were always at hand to share their knowledge about places to visit on the island and to give the best ideas where to enjoy the sumptous Mauritian cuisine. The accommodation is very well-kept, quiet and peaceful. Our suite was spaceous and, simple in design with the added bonus of a large and secluded terrace. The daily cleaning service was impeccable. The breakfast provided was everything we could ask for with fresh French pastries, local fruits, juices and made-to-order omelettes and pancake. Of course, accompanied by welcoming smiles and friendly discussions. :) We took great use of the gated parking area and enjoyed staying by the pool in the evenings. We found the location amazing, Pointe aux Canonniers is a well-healed, prosperous area with our favourite beach, Mont Choisy nearby. It is also a few minutes’ drive to the restaurants of Grand Baie or to La Croisette and Grande Baie Coeur de Ville shopping centres. We will be back in Mauritius and stay at Maison Du Nord without a question.

Breakfast is undercover alongside the pool which was a comfortable relaxing setting to start the day. Both service and food were great, there was plenty to choose from during our four day break. We prefer smaller boutique hotels and this lived up to our expectations based on previous reviews from the majority of guests. For transport on the island we either walked or used the new metro and local busses which is very economical and all part of the experience!

There was no on-site dinner or entertainment but this is more than compensated for by a decent selection of places ranging from bars with live music to high quality restaurants and beachside hotels within 10-15 mins walk.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, especially Shweta, Raj and Roshan who gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants, day trips and hidden gems of the island. We got a nice and spotlessly clean room by the housekeeping ladies, Noor, Jandana and Anousha, every day when we get back from the beach a freshly cleaned room awaited for us. Kevin and Manoj ensured that we had a great breakfast, they also made us pancakes, omlette, etc. Once during our stay they even organised a surprise dinner for all the guests, seriously, which Hotel does this where there is no option for dinner at all? Location is also great if you are looking a calm area where from you can reach easily the nearby beaches by car, walk or by public transport. Needless to say they offered free transport and return to and from the nearby beaches. We felt like home, it could not be better in any point of view thanks to the incredible service of the Staff who went above and beyond to ensure that the guest is trully a king in this place. The staff was outstanding, truly exceptional. They made our stay so easy and enjoyable. The manager and every single staff member were top-notch. We’ve never felt this way before (like being at home) in any other accommodation we’ve stayed at, either in other countries or even in Mauritius. The breakfast is tasty and has a very good variety. Do not hesitate to ask about recommendations for restaurants and car rentals. They know the best spots. They helped me organize a surprise for my husband’s 30th birthday, which made our experience even more special. Thank you, Shweta. Mr. Vishnu was incredibly kind and helpful, especially regarding the excursion to the Northern Islands. He has outstanding communication skills and is a fantastic host. I can’t recommend Maison du Nord enough, they’re simply the best! PS: Do not miss out on the Secret Beach nearby, just ask at the reception about it.

This hotel is a gem. The room was very large with lots of space for luggage etc. The room was very clean and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is excellent and I left with a full belly every morning. It was a bit too cold to swim when we were there so we couldn't use the pool, but it did look very inviting. The welcome drink was also delicious.

Two small suggestions - there is a kettle in the room and some tea/coffee/sugar would be appreciated. The cleaners do an excellent job, but if the towels are left on the hook to be reused it would be nice if they were left on the hook (rather than refolded, where it is easy to mix up which towel belongs to who)

I had an absolutely wonderful stay! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the exceptional cleanliness—everything was spotless, making my stay incredibly comfortable. What truly made this experience special was the amazing staff. I have never encountered such kind, attentive, and professional service anywhere else. They went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. The occasional dinner was fantastic, offering delicious food that exceeded my expectations. I also appreciated the top-notch security, which made me feel completely safe. The location is perfect, providing easy access to everything I needed. And the pool was warm, incredibly clean, and well-maintained, making it a perfect spot to unwind. Overall, an incredible experience—highly recommended! I will definitely be returning.

If I had to mention one minor thing, for someone staying for an extended period, the breakfast could feel a bit repetitive—but honestly, it was still really good, and I personally didn’t mind at all. In fact, I’ll miss those great omelets!

Wonderful and very helpful people. They have a really nice attention to detail. They want to make you comfortable and will help you with pretty much anything. The hotel also provides a free ride to the beach and boat trips. They will also organize everything for you all for no extra cost. This was one of the most amazing stays we have done. The breakfast is really good with plenty of options and they will cook you eggs, omlette or pancakes if you ask. The fascility as such is always very clean and they will tidy your room every day. There are trees and flowers blooming everywhere and they are taking really good care of the surroundings. You will feel like in paradise.

World class service for a fraction of the price. Vishnu the manager and his family as he likes to call them are some of the most amazing people we have ever met. They go above and beyond and leave you wanting to stay longer. From when we arrived to when we left the team were incredibly friendly and helpful whether it was recommendations, being both vegetarian they ensured we had enough options or guidance with parking in the courtyard. The rooms are very spacious and clean, in additional to usual amenities beach towels and anti mosquitoe plugs are also provided. What blew us away was how incredibly special they made our birthdays. We went to extend our special thanks to Manish for his infectious smile and guidance,Shweta for her wonderful recommendations and another smiling face at the front desk. Raj and Roshan for all their help from the messaging via booking.com to day to day help. Noor and Vandana for their creativity with the birthday decorations in the room. Neevan who made us delicious breakfast and catered for our dietary requirements and any special requests including the yummy channa puri for breakfast for my wife. Vishnu himself a very humble manager who takes his time to get to know each of his guests with his hands on management approach. All of the team at Maison du Nord bring something special. Other hotels should learn from such world class service. Thank you all for making our stay so special from the conversations and laughter to the best way to experience this island in paradise. We will miss you, this is not a good bye but a see you soon! If you want to stay at a place where the people go above and beyond to make your holiday memorable then look no further then Maison du Nord a second home away from home.

We had an exceptionally pleasant experience at this accommodation! From the very beginning, we were welcomed with warmth, which instantly made us feel at home. The staff is extremely friendly, always smiling, and very attentive to any needs we had during our stay. The breakfast was delicious just what we needed to start the day full of energy. Another big plus is the excellent value for money; it’s rare to find such a great combination of comfort, service, and affordability. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and will definitely return!

Breakfasts were excellent and suppers when available were also great! Proximity to the beach & shops could be a little closer but there was a daily shuttle service provided. The staff were really helpful and always friendly and made you feel welcome. I asked for a ground floor room and this was provided.

The quality of the matrasses on the beds could be improved and it would help making your stay more comfortable. We arranged with the hotel for a transfer from the airport but this was not done, but we managed to arrange a taxi to the hotel at a slightly higher cost.
