We had a wonderful stay at The Layhead B&B! The thing we appreciated most was how warm and welcoming the owners were—our kids didn’t want to leave! If you’ve ever traveled with children, you’ll know how rare and valuable it is to find a place that’s truly kid-friendly, including staff who genuinely enjoy having children around. On arrival, the owner took the time to give us a great introduction to Lübeck, showing us a bunch of local highlights on a map—which made exploring the city so much easier and more fun. The breakfast was perfectly set up and thoughtfully tailored to our preferences. The Layhead B&B is one of those rare finds that makes you feel at home the moment you walk in.

Our stay was short .. we would have loved it to be longer

The property was very modern and also very warm and comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring the city by foot. Katrin is an exceptional hostess . She attended to our every need. She was very helpful in helping us navigating this beautiful city. Breakfast was delicious.

Lovely B & B in the heart of Lübeck's Gründerviertel. Clean and functional loft-style rooms in Scandinavian style. The breakfast was delicious with oven-fresh bread rolls, home made jam, freshly squeezed juice, fruit and cold cuts which prepared us well for our discovery tours in Lübeck. The last remaining brewery is just around the corner and the famous Rathausmarkt is only a very short stroll away. We felt very welcome and well taken care of. If we ever have the chance to visit Lübeck again, we hope to stay at The Layhead again.

The Gründerviertel is still under renovation so there is still building activity going on and you need to be mindful of unfinished pavements, but there is no noise disturbance in the evenings.

Great location for all things to see and do in Lübeck, and still a little tucked away from the busy streets. So nice and calm with high ceilings, court yard and plants. Clean facilities, homely feel, spacious, nice design. Great spacious room (no.5). Fantastic and healthy breakfast served at the table -bread, cheese, ham, fresh fruit, jams etc. Great coffee, and eggs how you want them. Great host who helped with all our requests. Highly recommend staying here. And we'll definitely be back!!

Really, there is nothing to dislike.

It was fresh, new, quiet and the design of the room was well thought out. It was an easy walk from the train station and very centrally located for seeing the sights of the city. The breakfast was delicious and our hostess Karin happily accommodated our gluten free dietary needs. She went above and beyond to give us what we needed for a comfortable stay. We were able to leave our bags at the property as we arrived early. Check in and check out procedures were easy.

I cannot think of anything!

A very lovely hostess who was very attentive and thoughtful to our requests. The place has a modern design to it, and yet, it still gives out a cozy feeling. I absolutely love the suspended plants in the lounge room/ eating area/ desk/reception, it is very unique and adds that hygge vibe!

This is not a criticism in any case, it is only for informing people who come by car. Parking is difficult in the street, and a parking garage can be conveniently found at a 5 minutes walking distance. Thus, you can simply park and leave it there safely while you go & explore the city by foot.

The owner was amazing. You could really tell how much she cared for her guests. She gave us lots of recommendations of where to go. The breakfast was also very lovingly prepared and really delicious. The room was really lovely as well and we really enjoyed our time at the B&B. We would definitely recommend staying with Katrin.

Fantastic place to stay in the middle of Lübeck, our family room was spacious, very clean and perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids. The hostess was very flexible with checkin times and the breakfast fantastic. We will come back to the Layhead and can give our warmest recommendations to book a stay there.

There was nothing to not like.

Spacious rooms, beautifully decorated and a hostess who is passionate about her work. We were pampered.

The location is perfect, right in the middle of the old town. Because of this, you can't park in front, you have to walk 4 minutes. But it's well worth it.

Clean and comfortable, with plenty of hooks, drawers, and hanging space for our things. Excellent shower. The owner is very kind and helpful and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and things to do Delicious, healthy breakfast.
