The room was gorgeous, bright and massive, lovely old vault door on the bathroom which had so much character. Bed was massive, great amount of space and good shower. We were thoughtfully provided with ear plugs which were very much needed if you sleep with the window open due to the seagulls. Fantastic location with loads of shops and cafes on the sea front.

Check in is only between 2-5pm and they are not very flexible about this and do not do an early check in. A lock box would be beneficial for a later check in. My friend was able to collect her key before check in but if you were to arrive after 5pm I have no clue how you could even book to stay here!

Very good spacious double rooms Close to the beach

Staff on front desk one of them had poor attitude she had a big argument whilst we were there with a customer even the house maid butted her nose in the one on front desk who also had to serv customer threw away a 200 pond set eyepods and was very rude with the customer and not co operative what so ever she needs replacing with younger happier person. This like having to climb up 52 stairs to top for room with heavy cases and buggy no lifts it's not very good for older people like my self and wife stairs tired us out every time. Bed was very uncomfortable needs new mattress and the vase sqeeks like he'll when you move about on it. Fan very noise to so could not use had to sleep with window closed due to constant noise at the back of hotel.

Given the price we paid, this hotel exceeded all expectations. We had an excellent stay and will return. I stayed for 4 nights, with other family members in 2 rooms. Before booking I contacted the hotel with various queries around number of stairs (22 to first floor) and rooms for my daughter and grand-children and every query was dealt with swiftly and clearly. Previous reviews complained of lack of parking... what do they expect at such a prime location right on the seafront? We were out until late evening and parked outside of the door for free until 10am next morning. The rooms were charming: our ensuite bathroom was the bank vault! The first floor family room consists of a double with a single in another room but with a separate second bathroom and all doors shared from an exclusive use corridor. Very comfortable. My daughter was in a top floor family suite and loved the room, the space and the view. All beds were very comfortable, the overall decor was simple but chic and the standard of cleanliness and daily servicing was excellent. All facilities worked well: my daughter said the shower on the top floor lacked strength but the two we used on the first floor were fine. We didn't eat in at all - but the choice of eateries outside was excellent.

We stayed on the hottest days of the year and it was very hard to cool our bedroom - so air con would have been great but a fan was provided which at least gave a breeze. Surprisingly for a family room, the lower suite had no fridge although the 3rd floor family suite did. A fridge would have been great: with small children you need to feed them first thing - but in practice it just meant we had to buy fresh milk daily.

Gorgeous, large rustic bedroom with homely touches. Lovely wooden floors appear original. In an amazing, massive period building with tasteful decor throughout. Building seemed cared for and cleaned with love. Like staying in somebodys (very nice) house. Didn't miss having a sea view, as hotel is sea front anyway, and the side/back of building had very entertaining seagull action (!) and was pleasant enough. Rooms very clean and had everything you could need. Including earplugs, which is a first in a hotel room for me! A huge metal floor fan was also provided, which was super effective at cooling the room when required and also for providing soothing white noise through the night. Lovely big bathroom, also with plenty of space. Windows that opened in both rooms, to properly air the room as required. There was little to no noise at night (perhaps helped by the earplugs and fan?) Lovely, helpful staff. Amazing breakfast on offer in the bistro downstairs in the morning, with delicious iced coffee on offer should you wish.

Bed could be much bigger, as there is plenty of space in the room. The bed was also very noisy/creaky with any movement, and there was a lot of transfer of movement if you are not sleeping alone. The rug on the bedroom floor could be dangerous as it was quite slippy sometimes and doesn't grip the wooden floor underneath. Our room was on the very top floor, and due to the age/size/design of the building that meant A LOT of stairs!! (A common feature in Hastings/St Leonards hotels)

Property was in a fantastic location, very quirky being an old bank. It was pleasant and the view from the room was incredible. The view alone made the trip worthwhile.

I was very taken aback when we entered the property, was met by a lady who didn’t look very happy to begin with. I asked about what time was best to come back to check in, making a point of mentioning we know we arrived early but wanted to find the property first. I was then told check in is 2pm, which quite abruptly followed by your lucky we only had a few rooms to clean I can check you in now but any other time its 2pm and you’ll have to wait. This made us feel very unwelcome and uneasy, we were not expecting an early check in at all so didn’t expect the tone we got.

We booked a few weeks before so I think we got a last minute type deal, for the amount we paid the room was great. The food in the cafe did look lovely though we didn't eat there.

If we paid the full room rate, I wouldn't have liked being on the top floor, but this was mostly due to the heat (it was a heat wave), and that isn't an all-year-round problem. The room was hot, but again I don't think there is too much they could have done to rectify it. The room served as a bed for the night for the show we were going to see

We stayed for one night at this property, as we visited our mum for Christmas. Firstly the communication was exceptional, as soon as I booked I received a phone call notifying me what time I should collect the key for my room, as it would be Christmas Day there was a specific time, which was great to know in advance and my mum was able to collect this for me. I was also notified that there would be 2 rooms, which my 17 year old loved the idea of. When we got to the property (10pm Christmas Day) after spending the day with my mum, the hotel was easy to find, parking was around the corner, and the rooms we were given were lovely! Very cosy and warm, as well as spacious, a tv in each room as well as a kettle and tea bags for the morning, I also loved the extra touch of the mince pies. I loved the fact that there was a bath option as well as a shower.

The main room didn’t have a curtain for privacy only a sheer curtain.

The hotel was beautiful, everything was there that one needed. The cleanliness was outstanding, the bed was so big and really comfortable. Nothing could I fault about the room, the hallways, it was totally spotless and they had catered for every need within the room. The Bistro where one can buy breakfast was fabulous, they have an excellent chef there.

I arrived one hour earlier than I should and wondered if I could leave my suitcase there but the staff member told me to leave, go, take your case with you. Then there were the stairs, I came down for renal treatment at the hospital. I was put right at the top of the building and there were no lifts. On leaving, I asked if my luggage could be held while my partner came to collect me from Lincs and the same staff member made me feel terrible for asking. They did hold it but I had to collect it on the dot of when I estimated my partner would be there, it made me feel very uncomfortable.

The historic bank building had a nice vibe throughout, such as the old safe in the en-suite and the high up interior windows. Location and sea view was great. Also, bistro breakfast room was lovely!

The bedside rugs were too flimsy and dirty looking. There was a lot of unclean areas as you look up to the light fittings, vent and windows, etc. one blind was broken, and the cupboards below the tv don’t open and there was broken knobs. The pillows were uncomfortable.

Great location on the seafront! Parking was convenient as we arrived after 4pm and left before 10. Room was elegantly decorated with a mix of old and new furniture which gave character and charm located on the top floor we had great views of the sea. very comfortable room with the advantage of a dressing space. We did nt take the breakfast due to a change of plans however it looked very appealing! Receptionist was very friendly helpful and the hotel had a very professional air about it. Would revisit very good value
