Excellent location, very clean, good communication with hosts. I cannot fault it for the price I paid, I've stayed in worse for more !! Had all the basics, kettle, microwave, hairdryer, iron & board, complimentary tea and coffee. Shops, takeaways, Asda all close by, bus stop outside and train station 5 mins walk away.

Only criticism and this is being nit-picky Full-length mirror would be nice, as would a couple of coat hangers. Maybe a mini fridge to keep milk, etc, cool. But to be honest, I survived without it and I would stay here again if I revisited the area.

Staff were absolutely brilliant, check in process was simple, quick and very easy. As you will see, the location in above a pub but the access to the accommodation is completely separate and at the side of the pub. There was no noise transfer from the pub and our stay included a Saturday night also. When we walked into the room both myself and my son were instantly shocked, the decor is bright and modern, everything was brilliantly clean and well presented and our bathroom was a very generous size and again, fantastically clean and presented. Staff were very friendly and accommodating of myself and my 10yr old, even giving great advice on local places to eat which were spot on! Overall, great 2 day stay.

If I could put my finger on just one thing that was a slight issue was some road noise, some of the rooms are located at the front of the building and the noise from the road/traffic lights was off putting but not enough to keep you awake.

The room was large with 2 single beds and a big tv. Ironing board & iron provided. Bonus - it had a microwave. Bathroom had a shower, toilet & sink. All very clean and modern fittings. Fluffy grey cushions. Table with two seats at the window to dine at. Linen and towels smelled lovely; nice fragrant laundry softener. Easy to find. Easy to park. Close to motorway. Asda easily nearby.

Do NOT let the exterior put you off the comfy room you are getting. Currently clad in scaffolding because the owners are building two more hotel rooms. The pub is small and has grills at the windows, I thought it'd gone out of business at first glance.

We wanted to spend the night in the town where our family came from, so these rooms above a tavern were perfect for us. The owner was accomodating and considerate, answering all my questions and fitting an extra bed in the room for my son, and even asking how our family search was going. The room and bathroom weren't fancy, but appeared recently renovated--newly painted walls, nice modern bathroom fixtures, a pretty painting on the wall, and a cozy soft blanket for the bed.

Our room wasn't large but just fine for one night's stay. We heard some noise and smelled some smoke from the tavern below, but they closed at nine, so it wasn't really an issue.

I had such a great stay here! Everyone was so friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The room was clean, comfy, and had everything I needed. For the price, it was amazing value — you really can’t go wrong. I’d happily stay here again and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly place to stay

The room was comfortable and it was nice. The bathroom was also very nice and the water temperature was great so didn’t have to wait a lot for a shower. Communication was great with staff as well

Maybe more variety with complimentary tea and coffee maybe ? Just like more than the basic coffee and maybe being able to have more than 1 cup if needed

Ideally located for a nearby family wedding. Just what you expect from a pub with rooms, simple, clean and good value. Locals were friendly.

This was not a problem to us at all, but you are staying above a pub. There is an expected level of noise when the pub is open.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and the 2 day stay was Hassel free. The rooms are above the pub but no noise can be heard from there or the main road. Plenty of coffee/Tea. Nice big TV on the wall. Bathroom/ Shower all modern, clean. Parking was a small issue to be close by but it all worked out at the end. The pub is small but great. No food is on offer but there are plenty of takeaway across the road should you get hungry. The locals are great we were welcomed right from the start.

Staff were lovely and helpful. The room was fresh and clean and perfect my needs, with a nice warm shower in the morning.

This is not a negative, really just an observation. The room I was in was lovely and clean. Linen had a lovely fresh smell but the room would benefit from a wee bedside cabinet between the beds, just somewhere to put your book or water next to the bed rather than on the floor.

The rooms are outside and above the pub accessed by the fire escape. However it was a large, well equipped room, clean and comfortable. Beds were great. Bathroom fully stocked with all the usual. No food available, however there are plenty of takeaway places really close.

Road was little noisy but not intrusive.
