Lovely old (very old - historic) country farm house. Proprietor is a lovely English woman who was extremely friendly and even went out of her way to make us gluten free goodies for our room. Very clean and well kept inside. Proprietor went out of her way to make sure we were happy. Breakfast was very nice

We were fine with this - but you should know that since the house is quite old, not all the rooms have stand up showers. If that feature is important to you, please request one when booking. We actually enjoyed the hand held shower head in the tub harkening back to a very different time.

A delightful, old house set within rambling gardens, beautifully preserved and maintained by Simone, an amazing and generous host. Charming, quite a privilege to spend a few nights in this glorious house.

Nothing.

Everything, Simone the Host was wonderful. Very helpful and what a breakfast Rhubarb from her own garden served up, gorgeous, great taste. Her house is wonderful and we look forward to visiting again. I hope the cuttings I took, take, it would be wonderful if they do. It's a pity, we didn't have enough time to see of Simone's garden, I'm sure, it was beautiful. What a fabulous bedroom and ensuite, just fab.

Ballydugan Country House is a really beautiful period property. So much history! It was great to hear about the working farm too. Simone was an excellent host, so welcoming. The breakfast was delicious! We really enjoyed our stay and were impressed with the area, as there is lots to do and see.

Our hostess was such an exceptional person. She met us with two pots of tea and homemade fruitcake and scones. Every day there was fresh squeezed orange juice and a delicious breakfast with amazing choices. The rooms were like something out of good Victorian novel with real silver brush and comb sets, exquisite linens, and enormous bathrooms. And each room had a selection of well-chosen books that demonstrated the fact that the hostess is an avid reader. I loved the fact that it was a family property with unusual things like foxes on the wall from prior years when the family used to hunt.

Some of the carpets other appointments were old, but this just added to the charm, for me.

in a sea of hospitality blandness we all need MORE Ballydugan House experiences. we arrived late afternoon to be greeted by Simone and her family. A welcome cup of tea (choice of Indian or Chinese) and homemade fruit cake and Scones was served in the sitting room. We were shown to our rooms. spacious with everything catered for from talcum powder to a sewing kit. the huge bed was made with beautiful 100% linen pillowcases and soft cotton duvet cover. the bathroom was huge with wonderful soft towels. after a good nights sleep due to the peaceful location we enjoyed what can only be described as a abundant breakfast. choice of cereal, homemade honey, stewed apple, bread all followed by cooked items. all totally delicious. what set this experience apart was the genuine felling of hospitality being provided with nothing expected in return. Simone and her family members joined us for a chat after breakfast and we reluctantly left the wonderful bubble of Ballydugan House. we will be back sometime in the future. thank you Simone x

Fabulous experience staying in an aristocratic, historical manor house that was appointed with endless antiques, artwork and elegant furnishings. The property was isolated in the middle of a large agricultural area and we enjoyed strolling around the property. While the manor house was quite large it was also cozy. The hostess, Simone, was super welcoming and served tea and homemade fruit bread when we arrived.

it’s slightly threadbare and needs some updates, but to be expected in a grand 250 year old estate.

On arrival we were greated by Simone who is a lovely friendly host who made us feel at home right away. The House itself is fantastic, with such character and all tastefully decorated in fitting with a family home. The location is great as it was a short walk to the nearby race track we were going to but still set enough in the countryside to enjoy the peace and quiet. Loved the breakfast with special touches such as home grown products and fruit from the garden. Will definitely be back

Nothing everything was great
