A beautiful room in a beautiful family run hotel overlooking Hallstatt Lake. Staff are very friendly - I would single out Claudia who really was a welcoming host. Breakfast is good (continental), bed is extremely comfortable and a great shower. The hotel has installed a lift in the property which assists those with heavy luggage.

Everything in Hallstatt closes at circa 9:30pm with local stores closing at 5pm. Not a place for night owls!

This property offers one of the best views of the Hallstatt lake. Location is central—near shops, cafès, just a walking distance to the Salt mines and the Bus Terminal that takes you to 5-fingers. The hotel itself has a rich history and staff was very helpful and offered us a copy of the ferry and train schedules for our departure. 🤗

It is an old hotel, owned and managed by a family for multiple generations now. That means no elevators and creaky wooden floors which was totally okay for us because it added charm to the hotel’s classic designs. I suggest skipping this hotel for families with constant need for strollers (Kinderwagen) though, as it proves to be a lil bit challenging. The breakfast buffet needs a little improvement and the pillows should be replaced because we were almost lying flat on our back due to it’s lack of cushioning.

The service is very good. After knowing that we arrived before noon, the email told us that the room was ready before arrival, and told the room number, which was convenient for us to pick up the key and check in. 👍

Beautiful views, beautiful estate, beautiful rooms. We got amazing customer service, I feel like they went the extra mile to ensure our stay would be unforgettable. I wish we would have stayed for longer!

Because the building is so old, there is barely any soundproofing. When you come back to the hotel in the evening the stairs creek and crack very loud, that made me wake up a couple of times when somebody used the stairs. Also, if everything could be heard from rooms next to us, that also is the case the other way around, everything you do in the room can be heard elsewhere in the building.

A very warm and friendly welcome. The receptionist provided us with a map and marked places on it, such as restaurants and cafes we could visit. The accommodation is older but clean and also has a very cosy and themed feel to it. Breakfast was good, with a choice of pastries, salami, cheese, yoghurt, muesli, fruit, tea, coffee or juice. If we return to Hallstatt in the future, we would definitely choose this accommodation. We were satisfied. Our rooms overlooking the lake were the biggest plus - the view is breathtaking.

The room where breakfast was served could have been heated more, it was quite cold.

The hotel is in a great location right in the center of town. It was recently renovated and there is now an elevator which is very convenient if you have a lot of luggage. We had the balcony room and the view was spectacular. Claudia the person who checked us in was very friendly. The restaurant on the property was also excellent with waterfront views. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel

It was absolutely lovely! The location is perfect, the staff was suuper nice and welcoming. The rooms were the most lovely and comfortable. I love that they offer cuddly blankets as well! I love love their interior it reminds me of my grandma's furniture🥰 The view from our balcony was amazing. For breakfast they have everything you could wish for. Hot chocolate, freshly cut fruit salad, cake (which was a little bit dry but still good), bread and Cereals. You can also make yourself a cup of coffee (as they provide coffee and tea and hot water downstairs 24/7) and bring it up to your room to enjoy it on the balcony with the breathtaking views. Another plus: the cute house cat and her boyfriend from next door 😂❤️

The top floor is all new. Amazing property. It has a patio that looks out over the lake. Absolutely a worthy stay. It is front and center in town but rooms were quiet. Highly recommend!!!!

Fantastic location. Balcony opens into the massive lake guarded by the snow peaked mountains. Can't ask for any better view. The hotel property has quite an olden day charm which has been done very tastefully and much thought has gone into every detail from the choice of furniture to the art and photos and hand-crafted decorations. This property is about 250 years old, and we met the oldest living owner, her daughter and daughter in law who take great care of this property. It was such a pleasure meeting such nice people. If you come to Hallstatt and want to carry the memory in your heart, stay here.

Location was central and perfect, property was full of charm, breakfast room was quaint and lovely (breakfast was simple but sufficient). We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was also wonderful. We would stay here again and recommend it to friends

Shower was a bit tight to raise my arms to wash my hair, but what do you expect with a 700 year old building?
