The hotel is in a perfect location, removed slightly from busy Taormina centre, but literally on the edge. The garden and ambience was divine, old, green and stylish. We stayed in a garden suite, with a beautiful garden area. The breakfast was continental, but perfect for us, sitting in the garden with Etna in view. The service we received from Carmen was truly exceptional, and she offered advice and support on everything- a delight.

the private garden was stunning, jasmine scented, but the other 2 suites were next door, and not properly screened off, so not very private. The shower base did overflow slightly, which just soaked towels, and not great for the price and expected luxury.

We loved our stay at Médousa Bistrot & Suites! The location is superb, built into the walls of the old town and right next to the main entrance gate. Its about a 2 minute walk for Porta Catania Carpark. The place is super cool, with gorgeous gardens, our room had a lovely terrace with a wall full of jasmine. The room was large and comfortable and contemporary. All the staff were really lovely!! The breakfast was delicious, sat overlooking Mt Etna. The bistro looked superb, although we didn't eat there as was lots off fish on the menu, so no good for me. Taormina is a fabulous town to visit, a must for anyone touring around Sicily.

Loris and the team were all very helpful and super lovely! Even though there isn't a 24 hour reception desk, Loris is very attentive and helped to answer all our questions via Whatsapp. Location was perfect + the room was lovely and large, with a nice outdoor terrace. Breakfast was honestly so delicious, even though the buffet was out of action.

The shower flooded our room each time we used it, even for only a short time, and we needed to use multiple towels to avoid the water flooding everywhere. Air conditioner also wasn't functioning correctly and our room was quite stuffy and smelly from it, but couldn't open the windows due to mosquitoes.

Great place to stay when in Taormina. Interiors is really cool, feels modern with character but the hotel is built off the walls of the historical town centre so there’s a cool mix of style. Loris (the hotel manager) was super friendly and helpful. He was whatsapping us to ensure our transfer was okay, gave advice of things to do and more. We were upgraded to suite. Room was spacious with its own terrace. Had everything you needed including hair dryer and steamer.

A bit noisy early morning from outside the hotel / could hear other guests at times. Parking was a bit pricey.

To round out a 2 week whirlwind tour of Sicily, my wife and I chose Médousa for our final nights due to proximity of Taormina to Catania airport for a 6 am departure. Its location just outside or really part of the city walls and a short 10 minute walk to Porta Catania parking garage ticked off my boxes for easy in and easy out with our car rental. The level of service, beauty and absolute charm ticked my wife’s and mine both. Loris was prompt with messages prior to arrival and made us feel at home once we arrived. The suites are extremely comfortable and well appointed with a patio that grants a gorgeous view of Etna. The grounds are part of the city walls and adorned with orange trees that were in full intoxicating blossom during our visit. The walls and garden provide a quiet and calm that is welcome after venturing into the crowded streets and attractions of Taormina itself. The bonus was the bistro. Part of why we chose Medousa was interest in the imbedded Bistro. Unfortunately a few weeks prior to arrival we were advised that construction work to prepare for the upcoming season was not likely to be completed until after our stay. To our surprise on the day of our arrival the bistro opened with its new menu and we would have the chance to dine. While poking around the grounds I was welcomed into the bistro to take a look at the chef’s creations. He had prepared a tasting menu for the staff so they could familiarize themselves with the fare. Needless to say I was excited. We made reservations for dinner the following night. After touring the sites in the morning of our only full day in Taormina both of us were touristed out and while there are plenty of excellent restaurants in Taormina with views of the ocean, we chose to retreat to our quiet garden bistro for lunch. Nothing short of spectacular is all I can say.

Great great location. Enjoyed our little outdoor terrace. The staff were super nice. They had generous free snacks with the mini bar and a good coffee maker.

The room was large which is great but a bit odd with a large open shower in middle of the suite and wash basins in bedroom area. I think this room is a unique suite we were 'upgraded' to so may not represent other rooms. It was lovely as it had a nice terrace to sit and enjoy some sun. Breakfast was very simple delivered to room - a croissant, and yogurt basically - a bit too simple perhaps for most people.

Fantastic property. Absolutely beautiful terraced gardens. Breakfast on the terrace. And the staff were all super. They couldn't do enough to help and were very friendly.

I'm a fussy sleeper and there was a fridge noise clicking in and off all night. Staff did everything possible to locate it. Upon realising it was a restaurant fridge, they offered a new room. In the end ear plugs sufficed!

Medousa is perfectly located in the heart of Taormina. We easily parked our car and felt we could walk straight out of the door into the buzz of the beautiful town. The room and terrace we incredibly clean and modern. We loved the special touch of breakfast being left outside the door in little bags. Loris was knowledgeable, helpful and a fantastic host! We would definitely stay here again. Despite there not being a pool, we didn’t miss it! Loris organised a private car to come and collect us and take us down to a beach club.

The hotel was in the perfect location, away from all the busy crowds but just a good walking distance from it. The rooms were amazing, clean and tidy. The amenities and products in the shower smelled amazing. The breakfast was on point and up to standard, the dinner in the hotel was one of the best that I had in the city and trip. Most of all, the staff, everyone was on point, kind, helpful and always responding to requests. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I almost never write reviews, but they deserve it.
