My wife and I travel and live in Hotels & AirB&B's FULL-TIME in Europe. This Hotel owner is a perfectionist. (plus Hotel area has incredible views and at a perfect location). I have an eye for high-end items and perfection. Every millimeter of this hotel was perfect. The remodel was done with OCD minds. Every item was in it's place and well thougth out. Every tile, ficture, soap dispenser, trim, furniture, toilet paper holder, breakfast area, down to the shower glass was perfectly set. The welcome gift and fruit was well thought out. The cleaning crew polishes the shower glass and everything in the room has to be perfect. This hotel even had bug-screens installed on every window. You can actually keep the windows open at night for the first time in Europe and NOT get attacked by mosquitos and bugs at night with the lights with the windows open!!! Miracles do happen. I also loved the snack machine in front. It had the essentionals and snacks inside. Good food and even Knor soup. I appreciated the polished wine glasses and glass cups on the side for us to use. No spots and each glass was perfectly aligned straight. The hotel owner has every milimeter of the Hotel managed to perfection.

Unfortunately the owner has the personatlity of a piece of paper. I tried to commincate with him or start a conversation during check-in, but I was given the room keys, and a cold sholder. I tried having a conversation on our last day on Saturday, but I felt like and outcast and not welcome, even as a native Austrian from Kuchl. I didn't feel wanted as a guest. We checked in a Tuesday night and even stayed an extra night until Saturday. That is not how you treat any guest that pay good money.

Nothing to dislike .....only if you dont have car distance is a little hike to walk.... Also as it is breakfast only so you have to go to the village 2 km away for lunch /dinner. Me and my wife didnt have a car and we liked walking ....but with suitcases it is very difficult ....preferable come in car. Rental car not available in werfen. shuttle is available but with fixed times. Although uncle (host) was very kind to help us and even took extra effort to drop us to the station on the final day at checkout. thank you for being so nice and making the trip worth it.

The location is great for the town of Wurfen - it also has a magical sundeck that looks out toward the castle and the mountains - truly lovely if you catch on a nice day! Our room was great - we had a balcony and a smaller window with a screen that we could open at night, which we loved. Also had a mini refrigerator which was nice to store extra food for lunch. We also deeply appreciated the coffee maker and the hotel refilling our coffee each day. We didn't want to spring for 15 Euros per person breakfast so it was nice that we were still able to do coffee in the room. We also liked our bed and we didn't need much else to stay here for a few nights.

The room was a tad small - and the bathroom, pretty tiny ;) Luckily there were some public restrooms near the breakfast area which we ended up using more often if we had extra time - they were much more spacious when needing to use the toilet. Breakfast being 15 Euros - we stayed 3 nights so would have ended up paying 90 Euros total if we wanted to. We ended up just buying some bread/croissants from a local bakery and then having coffee in our room.

Its location is amazing. We were without car and it still was possible to get to the property and go to the ice caves, bus stop to caves is right on the doorstep. The downside is a heavy road between mountains and you can hear it all the time, it’s not property fault of course but its not a quite escape place to listen to nature. For my partner it was not a problem at all. Room was clean and very modern, but in some way too modern cause bathroom 2 sliding doors are noisy and there is no privacy in bathroom. Breakfast was amazing. Coffee available any time was amazing. They put also nice little sweet treats in room. Staff was professional and strict, I had a feeling I was a student talking with administration vibe. I liked it!

View of the castle out of the balcony was great. Just 6 min drive away from the Ice Caves. Breakfast was delicious. You have plenty choice and you can choose how you would like your eggs and they'll cook it for you at the time. Hosts were very kind. Room was as the pictures. Bathroom looked very modern and had very nice hygiene products. Would return!

Shower was nice and hot but due to the modern open design, it made it sprinkle over the bathroom floor a bit much and we had to use some of the towels to contain it. Otherwise rest of facilities were great!

The view is an absolute killer of course, the room is quite modern and looks appealing, the breakfast was one of those that look sexy even on 4 square meters of serving area - only few hotels know how to make the breakfast desirable.

The space in the room is quite limited especially when it comes to bathroom. Also the privacy in the bathroom is not 100% because of the glass rolling doors. Balcony is so tiny that it is more a formality - its border is so high that it is not possible to see the castle while sitting.

The location couldn't be any better, it's facing the castle and the bus to the ice cave is right outside the door. The room we had was comfortable, and very clean. The staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the view of the castle from the breakfast area and balcony is spectacular. Overall excellent.

We paid for a room with a mountain view, which technically speaking, we had, if you laid on the floor under the window. We knew we were in a cheaper room so we didn't expect to see the castle, but if it says mountain view then that's what one expects. Lying on the bed, sitting or standing in the room only provided a green image of the meadow, which is technically on the mountain, but to see actual peaks one had to duck down or lie on the floor next to the window. We felt slightly cheated by this because the room wasn't cheap.

Very friendly and professional staff! Excellent breakfast with nice variety of different breads, juices and bread toppings and fresh berries. Also delicious option to order freshly made eggs (scrambled, boiled or fried) and good coffee, price for breakfast was 15€ per person, it was worthy! Cozy bed with so comfortable and nice sheets & pillows, shower and bathroom was very nice, fridge in the room was a bonus and small portion of complimentary fruits, sweets & coffee & tea daily. The castle view with mountains from the window was breathtaking! Free parking space was very good thing. We also liked the location of Werfen very much, because it felt that from there is easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. Closest sights being Eisriesenwelt and Hohenwerfen castle, i highly recommend. I warmly recommend this hotel!!

I liked everything! Only note for "bad legged" guests is that the hotel is located on steep hill (thats why you have so good view!) so you should have car or you have to be in good shape if you want to walk there. We had rental car and we are fit so this was not a problem to us. The traffic noice can also be heard to hotel because of the mountains, the traffic echoes easily from them so the location is not "cricket silent". This was not problem to us either, we slept very well window open and weren't bothered by the noice.

Absolutely beautiful location. Sits on a mountain opposite castle Hohenwerfen which gives an amazing view during the mornings. Surrounded by mountains with a telescopic view of both the castle and town underneath. Very quiet location as its so high up, great facilities, free wifi worked great. Free tea and coffee available all hours with a large decking outside to enjoy. Breakfast is great. Staff are amazing. Parking is very good. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and came with an amazing bathroom.

I have no complaints, the perfect hotel stay.

The view of the castle was spectacular. We had a balcony with a castle view. The room and shower room are really luxurious and have everything that you need, including coffee and chocolates! The staff were very friendly and we had a free drink when we arrived. The car park is large and free. Excellent location for the castle and the ice caves.

The only thing that is not great is the fact that there is absolutely nowhere within walking distance for dinner. The village is only a 5 min drive though. We assumed that there was a restaurant at the hotel, but we should have checked.
