The Red Lion is a pub with four rooms in a separate building a short walk from the back door of the pub. Our room was in excellent condition and very clean. It appears that it may recently have been completely remodeled/renovated as the carpet appeared to be brand new; and everything else was in tiptop shape. The Red Lion is very convenient to Cambridge and located in a little shopping/market area surrounded by residential housing. We arrived too late for a meal but enjoyed drinks in the pub - there is also a nice green with picnic tables out back where many were enjoying drinks. Inside, you could tell this is a neighborhood pub from the friendly conversations and banter and also because for the number of people inside and out, there weren't nearly enough cars out back for the number of people on the premises. There is also a nice bakery across the street providing fresh pastries and other options. I would definitely stay here again if I was in this area.

Very comfortable room (Newcastle Brown). Clean and well appointed. Serviced every day even though that was not essential. Well served with local amenities and an ideal location for our trip. Good provision of storage space and very helpful to have a functioning fan in the room. We are looking forward to returning next year. I found everything I needed for my stay.
My friend's room (Tartan Bitter) appeared not to have any milk, as he discovered this morning when making tea. His shower also appeared to be partially blocked. I believe he did speak to staff before we left though and he only noticed it this morning.

Life saver - booked & arrived within 90 minutes after discovering my original booking for the evening at another hotel as when I arrived I found it closed down!! Staff brilliant. Room superb - even better arrived during the week of the Beer Festival that was taking place in the pub garden & car park area to which I received free entry & had a fantastic time!! great pub, good location, very comfortable, great people.
Only minor issue was with wi-fi away from the main pub, pretty weak or non existent in the rooms which are out in the garden area. After a long day & issues with my previous accommodation I decided not to work for which I would have required better wi-fi in my room, but obviously in normal circumstance would have gone over to a table in the pub.

Stayed previously very convenient location, great pub, rooms superb, like the freedom of coming & going, especially as I am often out & away early for work
Only minor irritation was that in my room I could not access the wi-fi on my laptop or tablet. I was going to do a little paperwork, but perhaps it was telling me that it had been a long day & needed to take a break. If I had been desperate I could have probably got a better connection in the pub.

The location is close to Cambridge city and 8 minute drive to a park and ride service into the city. While you have to visit the pub for the check in, the actual room is situated away from the pub which means there was no issue with noise ect. The room is spacious and well maintained.
The rooms were a bit musty when entering and could do with a through clean, but nothing serious that would put me off staying there again.

On arrival the staff were very welcoming. We were shown straight to our rooms which were absolutely lovely, clean large and super warm! We ate dinner in the pub which again the staff were really great and made sure we knew everything that was on offer from drinks to food. The food was lovely and we really enjoyed the atmosphere of customers and staff alike. We took our little dog who was also made welcome and was also given a little treat.

Very comfortable modern room - part of a row of four built at the rear of the pub. Very warm and quiet, nice big bathroom. The staff were very welcoming and the pub is simply a delight with all their beer and brewing memorabilia. Excellent village with a nice green with river for walking the dog, two other pubs, superb Indian across the road and a great bakery doing full breakfasts just a minute away. Great value would highly recommend.

The bedrooms are in a separate building at the rear of the pub which means they are well away from the road and are exceptionally quiet. The rooms are large and finished to an excellent standard. Very comfortable super king bed. Wet room was large and very clean. We had two small dogs and there was an enclosed lawned beer garden that was safe for them to have a little romp. The pub is in the centre of the vibrant village of Histon. There is an excellent cafe opposite (Stir) which is excellent for breakfast and a Tesco Express opposite which is very convenient for newspaper etc. The food and service in the Red Lion was exceptional. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Perfect location, just outside Cambridge. The rooms are large, airy, well lit with very comfortable beds and a large clean well equipped bathroom. Very comfortable, clean and great value for money. The rooms are in a seperate building from the pub so no disturbance. But the best, and always the most important, are the staff...they were just great - warm, friendly, accomodating and very pleasant to interact with. Bravo team Red Lion!! We will definitely be back!

Parking not always available directly outside, but parking nearby seems safe. No issues. Would recommend and stay again.
