Beautiful historical building. Rooms were comfortable and clean. They provided plenty of bottled water every day. The on site restaurant was great for breakfasts and late afternoon drinks, inside or service by the pool. Location is the big plus. Everything in the Historical District is within walking distance but we were not on a busy street with businesses on the same block.

My only recommendation is that the rooms could use a clothes dresser. Since we stayed for 5 nights we would've appreciated a place to put away our clothes instead of living our of our suitcases.

The hotel is older but very comfortably furnished with lots of storage for clothes, suitcases, etc. It is located very centrally in the old district, which made it easy to walk everywhere, as well as take the metro to more distant locations. We loved the pool in the afternoons when it was too hot (38C) to go sightseeing, and we found the bed to be very comfortable as well. The bathroom was clean and the amenities excellent; lots of hot water in the shower! There was not a great deal of English spoken here but it was good practice for my Spanish!

The hotel could use an upgrade, but having said that, not because things didn't work, which they did. And I suspect if they upgraded it, it would be a good deal more expensive to stay there.

Second floor and roof absolutely NO INTERNET! There’s no fridge or microwave, I can live with no microwave but cold drinks were a must! And the restaurant would give us one small bucket of ice and then if we would ask for another “the ice machine was broken” every day! We were a party of 8. The first room they gave us, the AC was not working right, and a horrible sewer smell coming from the restroom drainage pipes. When I requested a new room they knew that room had a problem and still gave it to me like that.

I really liked the restaurant. The food was delicious and and it was really convenient to have food nearby and available. The location was a also great. It is right in the center of Guadalajara which was super convenient to visit all of the great tourist attractions by foot. The city's metro station is also within walking distance of the hotel! All of this, paired with excellent staff who were kind and courteous, made our stay a great experience! (I hope all staff members are getting the pay they deserve because they are doing an excellent job!)

Excellent location in El Centro. Nice sized room to good linen, bed was comfortable. My wife really liked the pillows. Great shower lots of good hot water. Our room was clean and quiet. They change bed linen every second day but we asked that they just leave it for our 4 night stay. We ate breakfast in the dining room daily. Food was well prepared and tasty. Staff is very welcoming, attentive and professional, we enjoyed talking with them. Spanish is of course the most spoken language but all staff had some English language skills.

Everything was good.

I came to stay here for a post operation recovery. The heat in Guadalajara is really high and we decided to stay in a familiar place to avoid the heat and rest. The check in, the bell boy, the restaurant staff, the room service, the cleaning staff were absolutely helpful and caring. They assisted me and made me as confortable as possible and even escorted my nurse on her daily visits. The care and support was priceless and I am very thank to everyone for they It kindness and support.

I have nothing negative to say.

This hotel is a hidden gem in a great location in the historic area. There are many local restaurants and shops. The Zocolo is only a couple of blocks away. The room is large and airy. There are plugs by the bedside and sweet little nightstand in between the beds. There’s a wardrobe for hanging clothes and a chest of drawers . We were there for seven nights, and it was just perfect for us. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a swimming pool around the corner from the main section of the hotel which we missed.

Both the air-conditioning and the hot water require a lot of patience. We stayed in room 15 and in order to get hot water we had to have the hot water on full and the cold water on as well. If that didn’t work we had to go to the sink and put on the hot water. The air conditioning took about four hours to get cold most of the time.

The room location was great! Nice view and away from the main street. Also comfy enough for a multi-day stay. Higher floor, so it was easy to access the rooftop terrace. Really nice place to sit in the evening and enjoy the view.

The restaurant was a bit slower than usual this trip. Didn't seem really busy, but I even had a tough time getting someone to take my money to pay for my meals. Other than that, the food was good, as always.

Hotel de Mendoza was spotlessly clean, and my room was very cool and comfortable in the heat. It’s a perfect location for a first visit to Guadalajara, especially for a solo traveller. It’s in the heart of the historic centre, and I felt very safe walking around the area. They can help you organise day trips to Tequila etc, if you haven’t booked in advance. Lots of cafes and restaurants close by, and I really enjoyed eating in the hotel restaurant La Forja. Definitely recommend this hotel!

The hotel has the best price that you can find. There are some tours to meet the culture and have a good time (to day or night tours), The rooms are well doing match with the price "standard rooms". The workers are very friendly and help you anytime. The location is amazing as well. You can find to many places closer there.

There are not that I dislike, some people could tell the old hotel but its part of the experience because I enjoy the rustic places and felt I am in the past.
