We had a family room which was very spacious and comfortable, so we had a sense of almost being alone in a small mountain cottage. Hotel was practically empty, but the owners and the staff did their best to let us feel that their level of services will remain on the same level. The atmosphere altogether in our room and the whole hotel is great. Therefore you cannot have better stay in Bohinj and you get the best value for your money.

We were a bit dissapointed with dinner options. I had the opportunity to stay in this hotel 10 years ago, and I remember that food was really great, both for dinner and for breakfast. This was not the case now, and we got the sense that this is not their strong point now. Breakfast options were also quite limited, but as I said above, dinner was a dissapointment. However, you can always look for other places in the vicinity.

What a lovely hotel. Everything was a little bit 'up market' so made us feel special staying here. Our rate included dinner & breakfast and both were great. Then dinner was classy and delicious, the waiting staff wonderful. Breakfast was an excellent buffet, really good thank you. The room was comfortable, good bed. All staff were very helpful, great service.

No air conditioning so it was a little warm until later on. A fan would help. The balcony is great, but the divide to the next room is not full so the poor woman next door got to see me stroll out to the balcony in my underwear. Oh well. Also no jug in the room to make a tea or coffee? Would have been nice, but did not really detract from our excellent stay and the food and staff were so good they still get a 10.

As avid hikers, having a fridge in our room was a game-changer. It was convenient to store fresh ingredients for our sandwiches, keeping our picnic lunches crisp and delightful. The inclusion of this small yet significant amenity speaks volumes about the hotel's thoughtfulness towards guests' needs. Another feature of the hotel that we greatly appreciated was the lift. It might seem like a small detail to some, but after a long day of exploring the beautiful trails, having a lift to effortlessly transport our luggage to our room was a relief. It's these thoughtful touches that truly enhance the guest experience. But what sets Art Hotel Kristal apart is its unbeatable location. Nestled in an ideal spot, it served as the perfect base camp for our hiking excursions. The hotel's proximity to some of the best trails in the area meant that breathtaking natural beauty was always just a stone's throw away. Whether we were seeking challenging hikes or leisurely strolls, we found everything we needed within easy reach. In summary, Art Hotel Kristal not only met but exceeded our expectations. With its blend of cleanliness, convenience, and prime location, it provided the perfect backdrop for our outdoor adventure.

While our stay at the Art Hotel Kristal was largely enjoyable, we did notice that the sound insulation between rooms could be improved. The walls seemed a bit thin, making it easier than expected to hear noises from neighboring guests. This wasn't a major issue for us, as our days spent hiking left us so tired that we slept soundly regardless. However, I can't help but wonder if our neighbors felt the same, especially when I spent a considerable amount of time drying my long hair at night. It's a minor inconvenience and certainly didn't detract from the overall wonderful experience we had at the hotel, but it might be something for the hotel to consider improving for the future, ensuring all guests enjoy a serene and restful environment.

The breakfast was superb, the place itself is lovely.

Upon arrival we were told we got the chocolate package though did not get any welcome drinks, nor the included chocolate bars. The massage received wasnt the type we ordered. Several yoghurts at the breakfast went sour, when I mentioned this via the booking messaging system afterwards, the response I received was in slovenian stating that they come from a farm, so essentially there was nothing they could do. Didnt bother replying. The place is too expensive. Thin walls between rooms.

Our stay was great! Comfortable walking distance from lake Bohinj. Very friendly staff, our room was nice and clean. Breakfast was delicious and had a wide selection (for sensitivities too e.g. dairy free milk options, corn flakes my gluten intolerant stomach didn't have any problem with). A la carte dinner was incredible. They also have a chocolate shop that sells very delicious chocolate and bonbons. I would support to have more breakfast options for sensitive stomach.

This is a great, family run hotel. The proprietors take pride in what they provide their guests (rather than in what they extract from guests, as hotels chains do). Great food in general. Breakfast buffet included pastries, bread, ham, cheese and delicious (and unusual for us) pickles. Really good yogurts, nuts, dried fruit. A very cosy lounge area with wood burner and bar. This was a lovely area to play cards in, read a book and enjoy a pre (or post) prandial drink. Very good waiting staff. Well trained and knowledgeable to a level we did not expect. The wines were all Slovenian, and not being very familiar with Slovenian wine (and rather tricky names), we needed the guidance. It was genuinely helpful and delivered with just the right balance of pride, confidence and humility. I am rather glad that the wines were restricted to Slovenian ones or we would have been tempted to ignore them and we would have missed a treat and an education.

We stayed in a two-bedroom suite that is perfect for a family. The suite is very spacious, which leaves plenty of room for the small ones to play. The bathroom is huge and seems recently renovated. It has both a bathtub and a shower. The beds are very comfortable and the room is in general very clean. The balcony in this suite is fantastic, offering a splendid view of the mountains. The breakfast was very good, with a decent selection of different food items. We had half board included, which was one of the best decisions as the dinner is not a buffet but the hotel offers a choice between several options for main course (as well as soup and dessert). The meat and fish are of finest quality and they are prepared exquisitely (it's a Gault & Millau and Falstaff rated restaurant). The hotel has a small but modernly equipped wellness area that you can only book for private use and it features a jacuzzi, a sauna, cold (not ice) barrel and a cold shower "cave" with a little waterfall. The staff is very friendly and welcoming (it's a family-owned and run hotel). The location is fantastic as the hotel is situated in close proximity to the lake Bohinj , 25-min drive from the lake Bled and 5-min drive from the Vogel ski center. I highly recommend this property.

No special remarks. Perhaps putting a kettle in the room or having it available on request and delivered to the room might be something to include.

Nice, tidy hotel, everything in good shape, in walking distance to Bohinj lake, 1/2 h car distance to lake Bled. Free car park. Good restaurant linked to it.

In the restaurant, no written menus. The waiter only informed us about "the menu" with only 2 different main dishes. We only heard when discussed at the neighbour table that à la carte was available too with some further (traditional) dishes which I would have preferred, but too late. Spoiled my dinner a bit.

Great location a short walk away from the lake so was nice and quiet. The room was spacious with an outdoor area. Staff were friendly and made you feel welcome. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

It’s an old property and so not very sound proof. Saying that, the property did what they could to ask people to be respectful with noise and it appears to have worked although just something to be aware of if you’re noise sensitive or a light sleeper.

Comfortable beds. It was useful to have a fridge in the room. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices to feed everyone as well as some local specialities. Helpful staff.

We stayed in a 2 room apartment with 1 shared bathroom without a window. There was no shower curtain so the floor kept flooding. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was on even though it was 32 degrees outside. But overall we really enjoyed our stay
