The location is unbelievable, on to an almost private section of Lake Bohinj, and the views from the hostel are stunning. Also only 15-20 mins walk from other bars and restaurants and bus stops right outside - we got around the entire area very easily. The bar was nice and breakfast was a perfect start to the day. Hired kayak and paddle boards which were good value. In general an excellent and friendly atmosphere

The room was very small and quite hot which made organising things and sleeping difficult Could really do with a couple of additional bathrooms However we loved it and would stay here again if we were visiting Bohinj (which I highly recommend!)

I am very glad that I booked this hostel for my stay. At first I was scared when I looked at the bad reviews. Yes it is a building that needs some renovation but it’s nothing absurd. I rarely write reviews like this one but I felt like I had to. The hostel is clean, there is no bad smell in the dorms like the reviews say. It’s good that it has some outdoors activities. I highly recommend renting a bike and doing a hike or a tour around the lake. The staff was very helpful with me - by advising the best buses I should take to my next destination. The room that I stayed in had an awesome view of the lake. Breakfast is simple but it’s good for the price. The restaurant they have serve good food for dinner at a fair price.

Only one bathroom per floor - I advise you to arrive a bit earlier to shower. You need to do your own bedding when you arrive.

The location is excellent. Great swimming spots right next to the accomodation so you can be in and out of the lake all day. Peaceful, idyllic, quiet location. Good value for money for the area. Felt nice and safe. There is a restaurant attached and chairs on the lawn for relaxation. Breakfast was very nice.

The parking spots were limited, at times. But you could always make do with a precarious park. The staff were helpful, like getting you hot water and cutlery, but could be a little curt. E.g. they would not let me fill up my drink bottle before 7am. They told me to use the toilet water. It was frustrating because my bulky water bottle would only fit in the sink in the dining area and we were trying to hit the road early. Wait time for toilets and shower could be long at times. No fridge, safe/locker for guests to use.

Beautiful location right next to the lake, pleasant staff, easy to walk to hikes, the included breakfast and not included dinners were both filling and tasty. The dorm room had a sink which was convenient.

They just didn't serve dinner one time? Maybe I missed something announcing that but that wouldn't ideal if you were really banking on it. And it was fine in the shoulder season, but one toilet and one shower for the floor could be problematic in busier times.

The breakfast was good, filling and enough food. I booked a single room and this was spacious enough for me, the bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location is very good for doing water activities. There is a restaurant at the hostel for dinner and lunch if needed.

It is not as convenient for completing other activities. The bus is often quite late and sometimes doesn't turn up, but the walk isn't too far into to town, only 20 minutes. If you want to walk around the lake, you need to leave the hostel to find the start, but it is not difficult.

Its old, but well maintained. They could add more sockets for modern people with tech usage, but it just across the road from thw lake, which is amazing

Bathrooms for dorms

We had a pleasant stay at Hostel pod Voglom. The location directly at the lake is perfect for hikers, with different routes nearby. There is a bus stop in front of the hostel which brings you to Bled or Ljubljana for only a few Euros. Our two bed room was rather old-school which we liked very much, as it was still comfortable. The staff was very polite and flexible regarding some booking changes that we requested. Breakfast and dinner were great too.

There are only two bathrooms (m/f) per floor which seems rather little in comparison to the number of rooms, but during our stay the hostel was not fully booked, so everything was fine.

Hostel is right next to the bus stop by the side of the lake, so super accessible and convenient. Breakfast was continental, cereal, fruit, bread, jam, ham, cheese, coffee & juice. The beds were comfy, the room was spacious and clean, with a sink which was convenient. The kitchen was spacious with a big fridge, but did not use the hob. Check in/out was easy, and reception staff were very helpful with bus routes/timings/advice. Would definitely stay again.

There was only 1 female toilet and shower between many rooms and dorms on one floor, so sometimes needed to wait.

Despite a little confusion caused my myself the hostel staff showed remarkable kindness and attention. The restaurant team was also very friendly and helpful, one lovely lady even reheated our family meal for us. Breakfasts offered unlimited hot and cold drinks, plus fresh spring water to refill bottles. The place has a real mountain lodge atmosphere, with plenty of outdoor activities and sport equipment for rent. Rooms on the fourth floor come with a private bathroom.

Lovely location next to the lake, also about halfway through the lake so it's pretty close to go to both of ends. About 35min walk to the Vogel gondola and 20min to the east side of the lake. Staff was helpful. Room was nice even if it's a old building, had a small balcony as well which was nice, even if I didn't have a lot of time to use it. Simple breakfast was included as well. Bus stopped right outside.

No handsoap in toilet and shower could be a little bit fresher, but it was ok.
