Location is ideal in the old town and only a 5-min walk to Kranj Globus station and about 10-min walk to Kranj AP station. Staff were super friendly and helpful, allowed me to store my bag when I arrived before check-in, and remembered my name each time they saw me. The wifi in the place worked great. The bed was comfortable and the bed was already made for me, plus a towel was free. The locker keys are also free and the lockers are a really good size, sufficient to storage large luggage. The bathrooms and especially the showers were very clean. There's a kitchen with a large fridge and freezer to store things, a kettle with tea and instant coffee, a hot plate and pans to cook with, a microwave, and plenty of cutlery and plates. There are also plenty of common areas (indoor and outdoor) to hang out in and talk to other travelers. And security is decent--you need a code to enter the property at night. A great deal for the affordable price I paid.

There was no outlet located near my bed so I had to hang out in the common areas before going to sleep and when I woke up in order to make sure my phone was charged for the day (a good idea would probably be to use extension cords so there could be a plug by each bed). As far as I could tell, there was: 1 unisex toilet and 2 showers on the top floor, 2 unisex toilets and 1 shower on the first floor, and 1 male toilet and 1 female toilet on the ground floor. While the showers seemed to be a sufficient number, the bathrooms did not seem to be and you had to try multiple floors and often wait to use one. That said, for the price of the stay, it was worth it.

The overall impression of the hostel was positive. The girl at the reception was very kind and answered all our questions. Despite the fact that the bathroom is shared by all rooms, it was quite clean, which is a big plus. The rooms were also clean. It is also possible to wash clothes for an additional fee.

The only downside is the noise outside the window. Despite the fact that the hostel is located on a narrow street, we heard the sounds of passing mopeds and cars all night. There is a kettle in the room, but this is not enough, I would like to have a refrigerator or at least a shared kitchen. Also be prepared to pay a tourist tax, since the price on the website, as it turned out, was without tax, and we had to pay a little more.

Wonderful modern hostel in the centre of Kranj which is a lovely little town as well. Great value for money, so much better than what I've experienced in Ljubljana. The hangout area has an amazing view and comfiest hanging chairs :) There's a well-equipped kitchen, and rooms/bathrooms are clean and modern too. It shows this place is run with lots of love by the whole family. Will definitely stay again!

The only thing I can think of is that it was a surprise the hostel is completely closed if you arrive before check-in time, so if you're planning to arrive early and leave your bag you should discuss this with staff or call!

We arrived right at the end of the check-in window (8:00 PM) but had already received clear self check-in instructions via the app. Despite the late hour, we were still warmly welcomed. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. We appreciated the fridge on the ground floor. The location is excellent, and we were delighted to find one of the best pizzerias just steps away — you can smell it from your room!

There were a couple of minor downsides. We got a different bed than we booked, but it was fine. The bathroom was clean, though the shower had no ventilation, which made it hot and sticky. Also, the walls were quite thin — although there was only one other couple staying, we could still hear them.

The whole place is very cosy and has a home-like feeling, the kitchen is well-equiped and the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The common bathrooms were clean as well.

The room we got was facing the street and there was some noise from the open window (during summer) - both at night and early morning. Moreover, there was a light weird smell (like shoes), which was better while the room was ventilated. There is only one toilet at the shared bathroom of the upper floor for many people, which is probably not enough.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The actual name is Cukrarna Hostel (and it is a hostel) but it is lovely and the room was large and had everything we needed, in a great location.

We didn't take note of the handwritten external door code on the check-in form and after returning from dinner (just after 9pm I think) the front door was locked with no way to contact the owner to ask for the code. In future, a reminder to take a photo of the code would help. Or having the ability to use WhatsApp in emergencies.

Amazing accommodation in Kranj! They were able to accommodate our late check in which was so nice as our flight was delayed. Room was massive and very clean. Was a small shared kitchen and fridge on main floor. Great location in middle of town. No A/C but even with heat wave everything was okay with the window open and tower fan was provided.

Property was amazing. All shops and most restaurants close on Sunday in town so make sure load up on groceries beforehand!

Great location and super friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. There is shared kitchen where possible to cook. Also cozy shared that I liked very much. Also there is a mini coffee shop inside where you can order delicious traditional štruklji

Would be good to have a table in the room. We haven't had it. And usually in hostels there are free tea/coffee in the kitchen and shampoo in the shower, but here there are not, so would be good to have it also.

Very nice personal contact with the host 🙂 Everything what we need to spend the simple Basic night in the hostel is accessible here. Excellent localisation. But… the night before weekend was restless due to young rude barbarians making races on motorbikes through the whole old town. Terrible experience. Apart from the lack of the feeling of the safety the loud was tiring. They are doing it across hours. To be honest it should be the police issue. Whilst the hostel can’t stop them, I would like to let know potential guests about the case. Unfortunately I must make lower the final score…

Big room, comfortable bed, new bathroom, great location - in the city center, but in a quiet street. Very close to caffe, bakery, town center and parking (hostel is in the pedestrian zone). We liked online check-in and possibility to have double room with bathroom.

Room gets very hot in the morning due to lack of blinds or blackout curtains (sun hits the window very early). Pillow was very thin, not comfortable enough for good night sleep.
